Re: Weekend Randoms 1/19-1/21

  • @SmashJam I’m sorry you’re feeling unappreciated. I completely understand and it sucks.. I went out for a church thing tonight and DH was on kid duty. I went out of my way to make dinner and make sure it was all ready before I left and came home to nothing but complaints. I called him out on it saying that I thought I was being nice by making you guys dinner that I wasn’t going to get to eat and he said “well you know it’s not something that’s really like anyways.”

I about strangled him. Anyone else would let him find something to feed the kids on his own, but I figured since he worked all day and was leaving work early and unfinished that I could help him out by taking one job off his plate. I guess I was wrong.

The funny thing is. Last time I went out and didn’t have dinner made, he was mad about that too. Damned if I do, damned if I don’t.
Ugh, I would be so frustrated too. And frankly, if my husband pulled that, I’d be making a weeks worth of meals that I knew he didn’t like. If he doesn’t approve, oh well. Make your own dinner. :)

  • Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

I think i had had my first hormonal pregnancy breakdown today. We let our daughter go with a friend yesterday for a birthday celebration. Between our hurricane, my grandmother’s declining health, hospital stays and subsequent passing, my daughter hasn’t really had much fun in the last 5 months. So after she left, the landlord texted that a realtor would be coming today to show the duplex. Of course, with everything going on plus my massive amounts of sheer exhaustion, my time has been down 1. At work 2. At my parents’ house helping there or 3. In bed sleeping. We were planning to clean this weekend but I’m not the type that likes to clean that quickly.

So so I take a break today for our normal Sunday family lunch and go to my dad’s house. He tells me as I walk in that lunch is running realllly behind and I start to break down. When he asks what the issue is, I tel him about having to clean and everything. His response, “shouldn’t it already be straightened up?”  I just burst into tears. I reminded him that I’ve been at his house trying to help every weekend and that I’m already stressed out about finding daycare as we live in a very rural area where daycare is more expensive then I can afford and have waitlists a mile long. I ended up making him feel guilty about his comment and that made me feel even worse. It was bad. Lol but luckily I was able to calm down quickly.

Yay for pregnancy hormones (I am NOT a cryer at all unless I’m extremely mad)

  • @LadyJ2949 yeah I’m about ready to stop buying him food altogether. Lol.

@wildtot thanks! Now that we’ve figured out a way to get them in him without freaking out it’s not too bad! My H and I are being hypochondriacs now lol worried about pink eye in ourselves lol. Especially DH because he wears contacts.

    @angleyeskkhr I’m so sorry!

@lindsayleigh1989 I hope it’s not the flu! I think I’m gonna get DS a flu swab tomorrow.
  • Sorry I’ve been MIA this last week plus my health hasn’t bounced back 100% since being diagnosed with my blood clots and I’ve been trying to use my downtime to catch up on sleep. Trying to read some posts and it looks like a few ladies are in the same boat with life being busy.
@wildtot my daughter has never been the best sleeper so when we regress we work on a sticker chart together and pick rewards she would like ( ice cream dates, movie date, swimming, trampoline park ect) it really works well and gets track.
@acunamatada lol you don’t look terrible kids are hilarious and say the funniest things.

  • @Jessicajorden hope you start feeling better soon!
We started doing a toddler version of the Ferber method. He keeps getting out of bed because he knows we will go in and lay with him for a bit. Well not anymore! Now i just go in before he gets out if bed to reassure him he’s doing good and we are around. But I’m also starting to think bedtime has moved down by an hour :dizzy:
  • @chicxulub - I'm sorry that it's impacting you like that!  USAA is offering interest free payday loans to the military members who are impacted if he hasn't heard.

@wildtot @ cseley321 - exactly why I'm hoping to keep DD in her crib until at least 3.  I can't even imagine - hoping for sleep for ya'll!!

@MichelleAG05 technically it’s his crib with a toddler rail but he started to climb out and almost face planted falling at least 3ft. We had no choice unfortunately. They say came sooner than expected (20 months :disappointed: )
