Didn’t get to sleep in on my day off. DS was for some reason restless last night and had to be in our bed most of the night. No sleep for us and kept getting slapped in the face. Luckily i have no plans to go out today. Plus it’s suppose to snow.
I’ll be deep cleaning my house today DS has his first EI visit tomorrow, and my house is just a disaster. Nothing like strangers coming to sit on my floor to light a fire under my ass.
I don't have today off which stinks... but someone put their leftover candy in the break room which makes me happy but worried about my lack of self control at the same time lol
No day off for me either. Apparently most people I know actually had off today. My company only gives off for Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, and thanksgiving day. Everything else we have to use a floating holiday for. Which we have 6 of. It's basically the stingiest holiday policy.
So the local parent group for my town has a thread going about a local restaurant that doesn't allow strollers. It's a super crowded restaurant and very tight on space. It makes perfect sense to me that they can't accommodate strollers. But some people are apparently up in arms about it and refuse to eat there because of it. One person even said they must not accommodate wheelchairs since they don't accommodate strollers. Trying to resist the urge to comment...I just wholeheartedly disagree. Parent/mom groups on Facebook can be tough sometimes.
@zande2016 more room for you in there I guess, right? I seriously get ragey about people complaining over something silly. It sounds like it’s common sense that they wouldn’t accommodate strollers. And really if it’s right in there why would you want to bring a stroller in anyways?
My random:
DD got 12 hours of sleep last night after a horrendous past two days! I slathered her in lavender oil last night lol and worked like a charm!
@hillbillywife exactly, I avoid bringing a stroller into small spaces/restaurants at all costs, it is so stressful to deal with. But to imply strollers are entitled to the same access as wheelchairs just really grinds my gears. Strollers are a modern day convenience item/luxury, not necessary medical equipment! My kid was up 3 times last night, which is very unlike him, maybe I should try that lavender oil.
@wildtot trapped home sounds kind of nice (until cabin fever sets in). We are getting 3-6 inches of snow tomorrow, but regardless, I have to travel 1.5-2 hours each way (depending on traffic) to attend a mediation. 2 hours will probably turn into 3 if roads are bad. Dreading tomorrow.
@lindsayleigh1989 I didn't want to keep the other random thread active, but wanted to jump in on the Vikings train!! What a stressful ending! DH legit cried when it was over... lol.

@zande2016 I completely skimmed over the part about wheel chairs. I completely agree. Theyre totally not even close! And businesses should be making accommodations for whee chairs!
My hubby started his busy travel season today. Was up at 3am for a 5:30am flight. He’s gone for the next 6 weeks straight (home on weekends thankfully). We don’t have any kids yet but have 2 dogs and a cat. It’s always so tough. Not sure how I’m going to manage this next year with a baby too.

No day off for me either, but the bright side is that traffic was a breeze. I have my 16w appt this afternoon so I get to leave a little early. I'm oddly nervous for my appt. We were going to announce on social media this weekend but I decided to wait until after the appt because of these nerves. I can't wait until i feel consistent movement for that daily reassurance.
Good luck with your appointment @amylu914! I feel the same way. I don't think I ever stop being anxious/nervous when I am pregnant. Do you get an ultrasound today or just a quick heartbeat check?
I am at work today too. My husband kept my son home today to take him sledding, since we got some snow last night. I don't know who was more excited, my 5 year old or my 34 year old.

@amylu914 Hope the appt goes well today! And I hear you on the anxiety. I was also supposed to have my 16 week appt today, but it got moved to Friday (evidently the practitioner is out for the holiday...) and it's hard to wait. I had some weird pains last night after walking too quickly in the cold to get home, which really stressed me out. But feeling better now, so hoping everything is ok!
I had an appointment at 14 but it was just the doppler:( same thing will happen on the 18th w, then I go for the anatomy. Can't wait to see the little guy again!
I had my 1-hour glucose test this morning and I’m just praying I pass. It’s not the end of the world to fail and I’m pretty sure I’m going to have GD at some point this pregnancy but I’d really like to make it until the normal timeframe of 24-28 weeks to fail!

No day off here. But most of my client's are closed today, so that means I can actually tackle a lot of things on my desk that have been sitting on the back burner for a bit.
Also, I saw that thread that said Tea Time, and I didn't have my glasses on, so I read it as Tee Time, and thought, yay another golfer! Lol.
I passed!!! I’m so excited! I have to be tested again at 28 weeks (or sooner if I start showing symptoms or baby is measuring big). But for now I’m so happy!

Had an appointment with my new OB today. I’m so relieved that I like her and she was easy to talk to. Tomorrow is my appointment with MFM and I have an ultrasound. I’m 12 weeks so I don’t think they will tell me the sex but they will likely order blood work and I should find out in the next week or so. So exciting!
In non-baby news, yesterday I had my daughters birthday party at a bowling alley and it was the cutest thing ever. She would get so excited every time she threw the ball and danced to all the music. Just about burst my heart.
i was trying to figure out my meal plan for the week and had a hankering for shrimp but didn’t want to buy any right now because it’s expensive. Low and behold there was a pound-ish of shrimp in my freezer!! So I made some spicy shrimp pasta! It’s so yummy. It’s going to take a lot of restraint to not eat all the shrimp out of it before my H gets home
@hillbillywife You totally manifested that shrimp! haha I'm struggling not to eat a bunch of leftover food I made for a girl's night last night...pretty much a smorgasbord of pregnant person food: pepperoni pizza bites, tater tot cheeseburger bites and taco bites. My theme was (unhealthy) finger foods.
