Oh boy should my FFC be that I found a hair in my sandwich at lunch but I was so hungry I pulled it out and ate it anyways (it was not my hair) or that I have TWO candy bars in my desk and I’m currently trying to decide when I will eat them haha.
@bjkay22 I was a crazy germaphobe before working in a kitchen. Now, I just pull the hairs out and eat it.
(Unless it's really bad. Like once I could tell the meal had been dropped on a dusty, dirty floor. That was over my limit ha.)
ETA: Thought of a confession. I bought one of these maternity belly button rings. I am going to try to keep my belly button ring throughout the pregnancy. Not sure how this is going to work out...
@mileswithmyles that looks amazing! Except I'm not big on the other flavors other than original or Double Stuff, so I don't know if I would like it all that much. @kpc914 I'm so jealous. I haven't been sleeping well lately, and I wish I could sleep that long! @bjkay22 I'm an ER nurse, so I have quite a tough stomach. I used to finish shoving my food in my face as I was walking in to all kinds of gross traumas/stinky patients, etc. and not bat an eye. But hair in my food is the one thing that will instantly make me sick to my stomach, gag, and I will NOT be able to finish my food. Ick, it's making me nauseated just thinking about it. The candy bars sound good, though, what kind are they? Edited for more tagging: @thedawkterswife I do that almost every day at work. I haven't been able to this past week, but it's Friday afternoon, so what the hell. @silverhope Good luck! We'll need to see pictures later if you're successful! Hahahahaha
Mine stems from one of the GTKYs on another thread earlier this week, and I know it's been brought up before, but it's all I can think of right now. I was slightly side eyeing people talking about foods they miss during pregnancy. To each his own (of course) and I totally understand some people have good reasons to be more cautious than others, but I haven't really changed my diet at all (except for cutting out alcohol) and I just want to say, "Just eat it!" to people lamenting over not eating lunch meat, or sushi, or caffeine, or even having a small glass of wine/sip of beer.

Today I parked in the Carpool Only stall at work because it's closer to the building. Technically I'm always carpooling... There's 2 of us up in this car. One just happens to be up in me lol.. Plus it's actually -40 celsius with the windchill today so idgaf
@sandbar517 well... I mean... the actual sleep is pretty crappy haha. But, I spend at least 12 hours in bed. :-) And...I totally agree with you on the food thing! I eat bacon almost daily, have had several hot dogs, and eat raw salmon at least 2 times a week. Honestly, out of all of the restrictions I find the "no sushi" rule the most ridiculous. Granted I live in the SF bay area where there is good quality sushi on every block.
@sandbar517 I was so super cautious with the food restrictions with DS. Not so much this time around. I’ve ea.tenndeli meat, sushi, etc. and I’ve had a small glass of wine a few times.
Lame confession- I realized we need water, black pepper, olive oil, and a few other groceries. I was talking to DH and went though the list. Then I said "so I'll run to Target and get groceries". He laughed and said "or you can go to the grocery store that's across the street from Target". I'm just so used ton running to Target after the gym to pick stuff up since they're in the same parking lot that I forgot about grocery stores existing.
I just ate Taco Bell on the way to pick up my husband when we’re about to go out to dinner. I have no self control, and this is why I’m stressing the eff out over my weight.
While on vacation I prefer to cosleeping with my toddler instead of my SO. I just sleep so much better knowing he's safe and won't roll out of bed. The plus is I don't have to deal with SO's snoring or him changing positions and shaking the entire bed.
I am with the ladies who are a lot more lax this time around with what you are eating. Also, we might be looking to get a crib second hand instead of purchasing new for this baby girl. Not sure if we want to spend so much on nursery furniture this go around. Poor second kid.
@bwow615 I bought a crib from Restoration Hardware for DD1 and it does the exact same thing as a second hand crib. Her big girl bed is second hand because we not ballin like we were before kids.
@cups4 I tell mine to stop kicking me and calm the heck down on a regular basis.
+1 for being lax on restrictions this time. Y’all saw the list of meds I was on. I think sushi will be just fine. And if I want a glass of wine, I’ll pour myself a little one.
@kpc914 I would literally give up a kidney for 12 hours in bed right now. Or 8.
@bwow615 when we go on vacation, I make DH cosleep with DD and I sleep alone and away from them. But if it’s just me and DD on a trip, I just put her in bed with me over a pack n play or something. We both sleep better.
@mileswithmyles omg that monthly Oreo box sounds amazing!!! I love Oreos and was obsessed with them last pregnancy. I made DH try every flavor I could find.
+1 for being way more lax about stuff the 2nd time around. There are certain foods I do still avoid but Other stuff if it sounds good I’m eating it. I gave up caffeine the first time but I didn’t even try to give it up this time.
@bwow615 when we were in NY our hotel room had two double beds. DS wanted to share with me and I wasn’t sad. Me and a toddler in a double is way better than me and DH in a double.
@mileswithmyles haha thank you for not making me feel so bad. The funny part is we are in completely separate bedrooms too! @Poppy0419 I should try to get SO to sleep with him so I can get a night off. Vacation with a kid is not really vacation for this mom. DS was up at 6:30 this morning. I am looking forward to flying home tomorrow and sleeping in my own bed and getting DS back to bed in his crib. I did have a good talk with SO this evening and he told me he appreciates everything I do for our DS so that made me happy.
@heelsidehero honestly, im not sure. But, my pregnant cousin (who is a nurse) said to me one time when we were at breakfast "i know we arent really supposed to have bacon but whatever." I had no clue it was a thing to avoid bacon. I guess they are concerned about nitrites? Meh. Whatever...i still eat it almost every morning
@kcp914, no bacon?! I love bacon! I'm not giving that up! DS's pediatrician recommended bacon to help fatten him up when he was little. She said it's also great for brain development. I'm eating it for baby's brain.
I'm an RN in an ob/gyn office and I have never heard or read anything that says not to eat bacon. In general never eat raw/undercooked meat or eggs, and always make sure lunch meat is atleast steaming, but nothing specific about bacon? So umm.... I'm over here devouring bacon.
@silverhope I bought a pregnancy belly button post when I was pregnant last time, but as I got bigger it hurt!! So I ended up just taking it out. I didn’t want to risk an infection or something. Or deal with the pain. Hope it works for you!
The bacon concern is due to nitrates. I buy nitrate free bacon anyway (tastes the same) but I’m sure regular bacon is just fine. Everything in moderation.
@sparklingdiamondfingers crossed! I'm guessing that's what will happen to me too @Ceridwen77 (it already feels a little tender), but I'll give it a shot. It's probably time for me to retire the belly ring anyway ha.
Thank you all for supporting my bacon habit. My food aversions are so bad that I'm trying to embrace whatever I can tolerate. @Ceridwen21 I buy the no nitrites bacon, too. But, doesn't it really mean that it doesn't have synthesized sodium nitrite, but it still has nitrites in the form of celery? I know I am splitting hairs, and clearly I don't actually care...since I am eating it anyway. But, I always thought the "no nitrite" bacon just meant that it only had naturally occurring nitrites.
I'm late to the party, but I second what @Ceridwen77 was saying. I've always heard the nitrates and listeria, though if you're cooking it (even to chewy) the listeria shouldn't be a concern

@silverhope I keep thinking that too, but refuse to let it close up lol! I did finally take my nose ring out since I had to for the MRI. Then I decided to just not put it back in. It was a tiny one anyways.

This kid is kicking my cervix and I yelled at her in the car on the way home. Off to a great start already with #2.
