Does anyone know what the Amazon registry completion discount is? I don't have an actual registry with Amazon right now but I am thinking about creating one just so I can get a discount on a few things lol
@JJMNO1616 its 15% and it starts when you are 60 days away from your due date. I'm not having a shower but I made a registry there because we need alot of things and that's better than the 10% buy buy baby gave for registry completion.

That's exactly why I am thinking about creating an Amazon registry... Buy Buy Baby was nice for my shower because they offer the 20% off coupons people can use but the completion discount sucks. My husband and I will probably take all the 20% off coupons in there that we have to buy some select items but I am thinking about trying to buy everything else that I can from Amazon. I do know that you can use the 10% completion discount from Buy Buy Baby on the Baby Jogger stroller though. Do you know if the 15% at Amazon has any exclusions?
@JJMNO1616 at buy buy baby there are no exclusions on brands for the 10% completion discount which was nice because I had alot of excluded brands in my registry for items. I actually used it for my vista 5 years ago when I got it. From what I can tell there are very few exclusions on amazon. It lists whether or not it'll eligible for the completion discount within your registry below each item. They also have a date when your discount becomes active and purchases go towards things like diaper rewards on amazon. (like 1000 in items purchased from your registry gets you a $100 diaper credit)
The Amazon completion discount is only 15% if you have Prime. I don't have Prime, so my completion discount is only 10%.
Just in case someone else reads this and is like why am I only getting 10%...I am wondering though, because they always offer a 30 day trial if you could sign up for the trial, it might boost your discount to 15%, then cancel the trial after you get your stuff.. I have no idea though.
Has anyone else's stomach really popped in the last week or so? I suddenly look very very pregnant... And it feels like it came out of nowhere!
YES. I definitely feel like I popped again this week and it was like I woke up with it. Kinda nervous about how big I’m going to end up being at the end!
@JJMNO1616 I think the Amazon baby registry completion discount is only for items sold by or shipped from Amazon. And it is 15% if you have Prime. My first time around, most of my items qualified for the completion discount, but not all of them. I was able to change the color of items I wanted and they would qualify for the discount. And if I'm remembering correctly, you can use the completion discount for one transaction only.
The discount can be used on up to two orders of $2000.00 US Dollars combined value ($300.00 discount with Prime Membership) for up to 60 days after your expected arrival date.
You can continue to add items to your registry after the start date, and those that are eligible for the discount will be reflected in your Completion Discount view the next time you view it. Be sure you've added all the items you want to your cart before you checkout.
@ftm_ohio I just read that on the website that you have to be a prime member for the 15%. I'm not currently but I have been thinking about getting prime. However, I was also wondering the same thing about activating the free trial. It would be super convenient but probably too good to be true. I guess it doesn't hurt to try though and if it doesn't give me the 15% off then I would just have to make the decision on if it was worth paying for the upgrade. Paying $100 for a 15% discount seems pointless but if I can get cheaper diapers throughout the year it may still make it worth it? I also find myself wanting to buy things on Amazon but don't want to pay for the shipping lol so I might use it either way?
@JJMNO1616 we more than get our memberships money's worth each year. For diaper savings I think the best deal is the subscribe and save options, so automatic deliveries. I've never done it so i'm not sure how great it is but definitely worth looking into pricing wise
@JJMNO1616 We were Prime users before DS was born, but I really feel that Prime was the best thing to have while I was on maternity leave. We tried multiple swaddles, pacifiers, diapers, etc to find the ones that worked best for us, and Prime carried so much more baby stuff than our local Target and Walmart stores. We still use Prime for a lot of DS' things. I distinctly remember being overwhelmed, tired, and all the pp feels after DS was born and being SO GRATEFUL for Amazon Prime, I think it helped keep me sane. A friend of mine had a newborn around the same time as us, and her husband only half joked about how searching for baby things on Amazon became a second job for him in the early days.

We used to be obsessed with subscribe and save for diaper deliveries, it was by far the cheapest and easiest way to get our preferred brand in bulk (Pampers). I ended up cancelling it two months ago though, because the prices started to fluctuate like crazy. Our last delivery was over $30 more than what it typically was, and there’s no guarantee in the monthly pricing so there was nothing I could do about it after the fact. If you really keep on top of it and check pricing prior to delivery every single month I guess it could work, but I never did that and it bit me in the ass. Boo.

Yikes! This is what we do and it's worked for us. I don't pay close attention to the prices but they do fluctuate. However we've never had more than a $5 price jump on our orders (we use Luvs).

@ladythrice I think we may change brands and try again. Its soooo convenient that’s it’s been really hard to give up!
Yeah, I have never had to run to the store to buy diapers except on vacation . Imagine being our parents and having NO delivery systems like Amazon and limited store hours! The horror!!

Y’all are reading my mind this week- was gonna post a similar q on the registry thread! Specifically I’m wondering if there is a date limit on when you can add items to the amazon registry to use the completion discount? I am registered at amazon and BRU with different items mainly to accommodate the non internet savvy people (ie my mom). But I would like to purchase whatever isn’t bought at BRU on amazon bc it’s usually cheaper... and I’ll get a bigger discount with prime. My shower is 6 weeks before my due date- will it be too late for me to add the BRU items to amazon and get the completion discount???
@nessa1632You can continue to add items to your registry after the start date of your registry completion, and those that are eligible for the discount will be reflected in your Completion Discount view the next time you view it. Today I had blood drawn.. Hemoglobin was 9.8 units and the bottom of normal is 11.7. Anyone else have or had this? What has been most effective? I am already constipated from the iron in my prenatal vitamins I feel like I get lots of protein already, but may be low on red meat.
@g_amoss not sure if this will be helpful specifically for hemoglobin but a few of my results on my CBC were out of normal range. I asked my doc about them and she wasn’t concerned with any of them as many of the abnormal values I had were normal for pregnant women. My hemoglobin was 11.7 (standard shown on my results is 12.0-16.0). I’d def ask the doc about it but mine said if there was ever a concern I’d get a phone call as soon as the results were available - so hoping yours is the same!
DESPERATE over here! I came down with a Cold/flu yesterday. I took Tylenol yesterday for my aches and pains but today it's the post nasal drip, constant sinus drainage and coughing that is making me miserable!! I mean I've had to change my pants and underwear 4 times today because I've been peeing through them every time I cough! Plus I have a huge pad on!! WTH!! Anyways any tips, suggestions of pregnancy safe meds that I'm unaware of that I can take that you ladies know of please let me know. Thanks!
@jkatkins my doc approved Robitussin (guaifenesin) for coughs and it def helped when I was sick back in 1st tri! Sorry you are having such a rough go of it, hope it’s over soon!
@jkatkins sorry to hear about your illness - I just went through the same thing for 2 weeks. Besides cough drops, my docs told me I could take Mucinex to loosen things up (did nothing for me so I stopped after two pills), then recommended the netti pot plus flonase, which did seem to help the mucus production situation.
I also took nyquil on a couple of occasions because I was up every 2 hours coughing at night and was so miserable. It's not a recommended pregnancy medication bc of the alcohol content but it's such a minor dose I took the risk (plus I drink a glass of wine now and then so I'm not a stickler to that rule). Just don't get the kind labeled "Severe" cold and flu, since that contains something that isn't okay.
@jkatkins here is a list from my OB. They also said you can use Hall's cough drops. ETA: during my first pregnancy when I was sick, I also used Benadryl to help dry up my nose so I could breathe and sleep, and quit sneezing, etc.
@jkatkins When I start to feel sick, I start drinking apple cider vinegar (I mix it in hot tea and add honey.) It doesn’t fight specific symptoms, but it helps your body return to normal faster. The honey help with flavor, but it is also a natural expectorant.
@g_amoss my midwife recommended chlorophyll for iron. It's a liquid you can get at health food stores and either shot glass it or add to smoothies. Lots of iron and no constipation effects.

Question - Has anyone seen a chiropractor for pain related to pregnancy? I've been having terrible lower back pain for about 3 weeks to the point that it hurts to walk. It's now spreading down to my inner thigh. I pride myself on having a high pain tolerance, but this is really effecting me. My midwife recommended a chiropractor, but I'm reluctant to make the monetary and time commitment to something that might not even work...
@natalknitter15 I’m interested in others replies as I’m having lower back pain as well! I only went to a chiropractor twice in my life but they have a masseuse on staff where my insurance covers them so I may call to see if she can do a prenatal. If not I may book at a spa for relief!
@natalknitter15@btm013 I’ve been seeing my chiro every 4 weeks this whole pregnancy and I swear it’s keeping me mobile! By weekb4 I’m definitely hurtin so I’m upping it to every 3 weeks now! Look for a chiro who practices the Weber technique. He adjusts my tailbone and psoas regularly to keep my hips in line.
@natalknitter15 and @btm013 I’m planning to ASAP. @riversdoctor I need to be adjusted so bad and your review reminded me why I feel like I’m waddling already! My hips have to be so out of line.
Ugh maybe that’s it (hips out of line). I find myself waddling too. The first time i ever needed to see a chiropractor was when my son was two months old. I had a csection with him so needless to say my core was nonexistent since they cut through it. I threw out my back picking him up. I never understood how on tv when people hurt their backs they physically couldn’t move or stand upright. Now I know! I could not believe how much pain I was in! Ever since then my back hasn’t been right.
