Spot on top of heart ?

Hi I wanted to see if anyone is or went through the the same experience. I had a Sonogram today and then went to see my doctor , she told me I would be scheduled to see a high risk doctor because there is a spot on top of baby's heart not in it but on top I just felt a little lost and feel like I didn't get any more information has anyone gone through something like this . I know I need to ask more but I was just in complete frozen mode

Re: Spot on top of heart ?

  • I went through something similar with my baby's brain and I already see a high risk specialist! Ultrasounds are better at looking at bones than details on the heart or the brain. Just try to relax, even imagine that spot disappearing if you don't think that's too out there and see what the specialist says. I'm sure it's common and will disappear on its own. When they just see one thing, not multiple things together at once, it usually turns out to be nothing...but weeks of worrying!

  • There was a spot on my baby girls heart at 18 weeks and they had me all stressed out. Then at 22 weeks it was gone and she is perfectly healthy. Try not to stress. There is false positives on the scans. Just take it appointment by appointment and you will be fine.
