GTKY: What’s the best way to start the day?
Re: PGAL Check-In: January 3
I had my first real flare-up of PGAL brain in a while recently, and it was not pretty. On Saturday, my husband and I had plans to pick up and set up the crib. I sobbed all morning. Every other thing we've done to prep for baby has made me so happy because I know it means we're getting closer to having her in our arms, but for some reason, the crib set me off. All I could think was what if we set up this crib and I had to look at it every day, and then something happened that meant she'd never go in it? I talked to my husband and best friend about it and they were supportive (what I appreciate most is that neither dismissed my fears), and as soon as the crib was actually set up, I felt better and was able to get a grip on myself. It helped that the little woman was SUPER active all of that day, as if she knew I could use the extra reassurance.
GTKY: What’s the best way to start the day? Sigh - with a steaming hot cup of black coffee! I gave up coffee after our first loss (even though I'd only drank a cup a day previously - it was part extra-precautionary-measure and part way of punishing myself for what wasn't my fault in the first place), but I still dream about it. One of the moments I'm most looking forward to is being in the hospital after she's born, holding my baby in one hand and an extra large cup of 7-11 coffee in the other!
GTKY: What’s the best way to start the day? I have a hard time getting out of my cozy bed these days... we have such an amazing bed and I love my sexy Spaniard so much... but I must say @ashtuesday coffee is a close second haha. I didn't have one drop my first pregnancy, but have allowed myself one cup each morning in the subsequent pregnancies... it helps me with headaches and constipation LOL
Also, I know what you mean about setting up for baby... I have told everyone I do not want any gifts, or a baby shower for this baby... but I admit, DH and I have been collecting things for Nova here and there and I do have them in a special basket at home waiting for her. The way I feel now is that her things leave us with hope. I'm really trying to hang onto that. My brother took the carseat we used for Mars (which was originally my nephews) back, but told me it's ready for Nova when we are ready to take it back... and we have the dresser we made for Mars into a changing table in our garage.. but all in good time... I need to hold what Mars taught me close to my heart... we have today... we have Nova today... and we are excited to meet her. I pick up her little clothes every day... hold her little shoes... and am more and more excited to meet her

My next appointment is next Thursday with the PA at my practice. I talked to the L&D nurse at the hospital after my class Tuesday night about my belly going hard at the end of the day for long periods of time. It was 9:00 and my belly was doing it when I was talking to her so she checked it out and said she thinks my uterus is just irritated from all the movement LO does plus carrying a 30 lb toddler. She said it definitely was not a full on contraction and she didn’t think I needed to be monitored.
Honestly I’m doing okay but starting to hit the, oh wow. If I don’t get back into moving and trying to fix my hips and spd then how am I going to handle birth?! Lol. Yoga ball is out. Birth class has been taken at the hospital. I’m slowly working on moving more—more laundry, I went through my entire wardrobe the other day and started purging almost KonMari style, and am putting the final touches on Ds’s Room before I tackle the nursery.
I’ve tried to start my day with taking a few minutes for me—I have a five minute bullet journal I do and it’s about time to start brewing some red raspberry leaf tea to start my day with. I also make it a habit to drink an entire yeti of water before I grab anything with caffeine.
@ashtuesday that sounds completely normal for a PGAL Momma and I’m so glad that you had good support—and an active baby.
@senora76 that sounds like the best way to start the New Year—honestly I’m jealous. I love your approach to taking everything one step, one day at a time, in your own time.
32 weeks today!
I have 3 appointments this coming week (9th, 10th, and 11th). First a BPP with my current OB, then a follow up with my endocrinologist, and then an appointment with my new OB to discuss my TOLAC. Looking forward to all of it!
Mostly good. I’ve had a few days of worrying because I’ve been getting a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions this week. Still glad to have my fetal Doppler because she was NOT moving while all that was going on.

Sleepy cuddles!! DS is the best cuddler in the world and I love when he climbs up in bed with me to cuddle! He usually lays his head against my bump and drives his sister crazy lol a glimpse into my future perhaps?

Anxiety is still there. Tracking movement and worrying every time I notice hiccups, thanks Google. Back and rib pain, constipation and indigestion are still going strong! Otherwise though I’m feeling ok.

When DH surprises us with donuts because Mama doesn’t have to make breakfast!
