STM+ Check in 1/3

Re: STM+ Check in 1/3

  • 1) How far along are you?
    10w

    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far?
First tri with my DD was hell, I was so sick. DS was only moderate sickness, and pretty easy. This one has knocked me on my ass, more sickness that my 2nd but not as much as my 1st, however I am SO TIRED.

    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to?
My oldest is 4 and we told her about the pregnancy but she wasn’t that excited and promptly forgot about it, hasn’t mentioned it since lol. She was so excited when we told her about our second, this time I guess she’s just like, “eh another one”.

    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays?
Not really. I felt like such crap on Christmas Eve/day I was just trying to get through it and unfortunately didn’t really get to enjoy it.

@suzystar829 at least we kinda have an excuse. This little one is a surprise. It took me 11 months to get pregnant the first time so we assumed that I wouldn't get pregnant until I was done breastfeeding. Lesson learned.

We did want to have them close together but I was thinking 2 to 2.5 years apart, not 18m. Still this is our last and it's kind of nice to know our family is complete after this.

I hope we have nice calm babies this time :)
@laufisch we said 2-3years between, so i was thinking 2.5... now we will be 22 months between. This was a semi-surprise for us too. I really thought we would be really trying this summer. It took a little bit for #1 and I am also still breastfeeding...but apparently it only really takes one time. Cautionary tale for sure!
  • My 2 are 18 months apart. It wasn’t a walk in the park, but we got through it, and I would do it again. We doubled our wait this time. My DS will be almost 3 when this LO is born
  • 1) How far along are you?
    7 weeks 5 days

    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far?
I think I'm about as nauseous as before.  Not as exhausted, but that may be like everyone said, I'm just not noticing it with a toddler.  I'm also not as breathless and lightheaded, but maybe that didn't happen this early?  I don't remember that well.  The biggest difference is that I was so worried last time that I refused to engage with the pregnancy until the second trimester.  It's fun to actually read about blueberries and jelly beans this time.

    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to?
DS just turned 2 and has gotten really silly.  He just got Hop on Pop by Dr Seuss, and he does a full on belly laugh every time Pat tries to sit on the cactus.  He just laughs and laughs and says "No that! No that!"

    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays?
We flew to New Orleans for a wedding, and it turned out to be really cold and super crowded and really overwhelming.  At one point, I talked him down from a meltdown by saying that the trip had been a bit too much for everyone.  He agreed by saying "much trip."  A couple of times since then, when he's feeling overwhelmed, he just says "much trip."

    2.  The only difference this time around is I spot every time I have a BM. Scares me every time. I never spotted with my son.
    3.  No rants or raves, just chilling with my crazy 4 year old. Lol
eta.... maybe I do have a rant..... I LOOK pregnant.... already. I didn’t show till 12+ weeks with my son! WTF! Haha
    4. Over the holidays we told our family about the pregnancy. They’re all excited. Wasn’t planning on telling the other kiddo but he knows now and he’s so excited to be a big brother. <3 prayers it sticks!
  • 1. 10 weeks

    2. This pregnancy has been somewhat similar to my first except that I’m actually throwing up this time, with my son I just felt like I was going to. I also feel more relaxed and am enjoying this pregnancy by not worrying about everything.

    3. My son is 2.5 and is so much fun (most of the time). His language is exploding and he cracks us up.
rant: there’s a lot of whining which is my pet peeve! I’m trying to work with him on speaking nicely.

    4. We told our family over the holidays which was fun. My son also got a giant giraffe from my inlaws and his face when he opened it was priceless.
  • 1) How far along are you?
    9 weeks today!

    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far?
I haven't been as sick this time, although I still have the nausea and it is worse in the morning and again at night. I don't remember being this tired with my first but I might have been, or it's because I have a toddler running around!

    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to?
Rave: My DD is being so so good (she is 2 1/2) and is pretty independent. The only time she really gets upset is when she's hungry or wants me to help her with one of her toys. I feel so lucky that she's so helpful and sweet the majority of the time.
Rant: I'm getting so frustrated with feeling so exhausted and sick all day. I was so used to working out 4 or 5 days a week, and cooking dinner every weeknight. Now everything feels like a struggle and I feel like I'm barely getting by with chores around the house. I'm ready to have a cute bump and feel good!

    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays?
This was the first Christmas that DD was actually interested! It was so fun leaving the cookies out for Santa and having her notice they were mostly gone in the morning.
  • @Fruitcove7 Great point!  I'm curious how many of the other moms feel like they are growing quicker this time?  I think I'm just really bloated but man, my dress pants are not comfortable!

  • 1) How far along are you? 6w 5d
    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far? Yep! With my daughter I had extremely sore boobs by now, currently nothing! However, I am WAY hungrier and fatigued at this point than with my first. The hunger is horrible, if I don’t eat I feel extremely nauseated. I’m literally eating every 30 mins to keep myself from barfing & have a cooler full of applesauce next to my bed for when I wake up dying at 2am. Can’t wait for this phase to pass! It’s hard to stay so positive when I feel so horrible.
    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to?
Rant: I hate being cooped up and it’s -1 out today.  I’m so looking forward to lounging on the beach with a big ol belly this summer! Rave: my daughter will be 2 in March. She is so funny and smart! Learns something new everyday and seems to have a grasp on the fact that Mommy is sick. She’s been more mello these days than normal.
    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays?
My daughter loves “SATA” (santa), and was obsessed with pointing out everything that had santas face on it. When it came time to see him in person she screamed bloody murder haha.
  • 1. 7w1d

    2. Spotting with this pregnancy which is constantly unnerving. It comes and goes from day to day. Also a lot more nauseous this time around. And sleeping really poorly the past few days. With my first I had a bad taste in my mouth and sciatica pain.

    3. DD had her 2.5 yr check up today, and she is off the charts with cognitive, verbal, and physical development. Her letter sounds are off, so they did give us an early intervention phone number if she doesn't show progress over the next couple months.

    4. DD had so much fun over the holidays, but thought that stockings happened every day. She asked for one every morning when she woke up over break.
  • 1) How far along are you? I think I'm 7w6d but I'll know for sure tomorrow after my OB appt
    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far? So far this pregnancy has been almost exactly the same as my first two only slightly less nausea this time.
    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to? Neither of my kids have been told about this baby yet so my 3 yo is super rowdy and jumping all over me as usual but just one touch on either of my boobs and I want to cry. Also, we have company staying in our house and my sons had to forfeit their room so now the 3 of us are sharing a king sized bed and it is AWFUL.
    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays? Nothing specifically but the boys had such an amazing time with both Christmas and NYE.

    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far? Pretty similar actually. I never had terrible morning sickness with my DS, just some weird aversions (like eggs - don't get them near me!) and I'm always so, so cold!
    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to? My DS is 19 months old and having a blast! I think he's just starting a language leap, and it's fun to hear him learning new words every day. He's also entered a whine, whine, whine all day long phase, which is less fun.
    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays? DS loved all the lights and ornaments on the Christmas tree and all the wrapping paper!

@Piperella Hi friend! I'm so happy to share a BMB with you! The PG after 35 board looks pretty dead these days...

  • There's a PG after 35 board?  Can't we just hang out here?  I think there's a bunch of us judging from the AMA thread

Yes, of course we can hang out here. I only mentioned that board because @Piperella and I hung out there during our previous pregnancies and it was pretty active and full of some cool ladies back then. We all met on the TTC after 35 board and then transitioned when a bunch of us got BFPs around the same time. I did notice that there was an AMA thread  and given the overall size of the board (and TB in general) I'm not surprised that there are a ton of us here.

  • 1) How far along are you?  7w4d according to the last growth scan (measuring 5 days behind what they estimate was a week late ovulation)

    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far? Everything seems to be the exact opposite this time.

    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to? I still don't feel comfortable in this pregnancy. Lmp puts me at 9w 2d. 1st scan showed a 5w 2d sack, at 6w 2d. They say because I'm still breastfeeding, I ovulated late.
Hcg only goes up 63 in 2 days. Viability scan 2 weeks later shows a tiny being measuring 6w 4d, but healthy heartbeat. I'm hoping because *TW* previous losses, we will try doppler or another ultrasound
at my next appointment. Hopefully hearing heartbeat again will settle my nerves on this.
L has his 18 month well check next week,  and is exploding with new words. It's funny to hear some of what he pops up with.

    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays?
L's first Christmas he's big enough to understand decorations and snow. He loves it all.
He refuses to steer his power wheels trike. So he pushes the peddle until he runs into something, and just sits there wheels spining, foot still on the peddle, laughing. Weird kid lol
  • Good luck tomorrow @ecwk!!!

    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far? Not yet. I’m more hyper aware of cramping maybe?

    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to? Im ready to go back to school and for DS to go back to preschool. There is no routine in my house, and I miss adult conversation and getting a break from kids. I will bow down to any SAHM - that is a HARD job.

    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays? DS was super excited to open his presents. My mom gave him some cars, and he said,”my own hotwheels!” Which is hysterical because he owns probably 300.

  • 1) How far along are you?  Like 9.5 weeks

    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far? I am definitely struggling more with morning sickness. Last time I only threw up once but now I'm throwing up or dry heaving once a day and nauseous allll day

    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to? I'm so glad the holidays are over, which is shocking for me. But I'm exhausted and ready to get back to normal life.

    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays? DS was super excited to open his presents but then wanted to play with everything he opened instead of continuing to open presents! It took hours to get him through his presents!

  • Thinking of you today @ecwk!
  • Good luck today @ecwk!

    1) How far along are you?
    About 8 weeks

    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far?
I’m much more nauseated and exhausted this time. Yesterday I felt sick until 4:30 and have been going to bed around 8!

    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to?
DS is 3.5 and a typical 3 year old. It takes FOREVER to get anything done like leave the house or put on his shoes. I’ll just never leave when the second one comes, I guess. Lol. On the other hand, he is so smart and can follow simple LEGO directions with some help. It’s amazing to watch him figure out a 3D object from the little picture.

    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays?
DS would open each present, shout “A ____!!! Just what I wanted!!!” And then chuck it to the side and grab the next present. It was hilarious. Also we told our families and it was so fun to see their reactions. They all thought we were one and done!
  • Good luck today @ecwk! Update us when you can!

@ladygali I laughed way too hard at your DS's reaction to opening his presents!

  • @ladygali my son is 2.5 and it just recently started taking forever to go places. He has to touch cracks in the cement, throw a fit because can’t drive, he has to crawl in the car by himself, and so on. All this to say I’m so sad to know this is still going to be the case a year from now  ;)
  • @amac12999 I’m sorry to say it doesn’t really get better!!!  :| I lose my cool more often than I care to admit but seriously, I’d have to be a saint to have the patience it takes to cajole him into not taking for-freaking-ever without getting mad sometimes. Sigh.
  • 1) How far along are you? 10w2d
    2) Have you noticed any differences in your pregnancies so far? This one has me a lot less nauseous than the other three, but more tired I think.
    3) Rants/Raves, what are your others up to? Their joint birthday party (4 and 2) is this weekend! Looking forward to it, and also looking forward to it being over because 40 people in your house can be a bit stressful to plan for.
    4) Fun kiddo stories from the holidays? My son turned 2 but if you ask him if he's two he loves to say "no, one!" adamantly

Yes! My husband looked at me yesterday and said I looked pregnant already. There’s a definite mini bump. At least it’s sweater time so easier to cover at work for a few more weeks

I feel like I got a 4 month bump going on. Although we all know the truth. I'm full of gas. Lol.
