  • @StephBrim24 @megpeg I'm planning to try to go med-free too. This is my first time, so that's what I say now... but I'd really like to try! I think a new thread could be helpful!
  • FTM and I will be attempting no epidural. Had a spinal headache after my cerclage and never want to go through that again unless absolutely necessary!

  • I would like a c-section thread!!!!

  • @megpeg SMH. Although, I did ask if it was ok to go to a Pitbull concert at 31ish weeks...my MW said it was fine so long as people weren't pushing me around. I admit I felt a bit silly even asking about that, but the movies?? Really? Come on, man!!
  • But @megpeg @amylonghorn what if it damages the baby’s ears?
  • Anyone else attempting a VBAC?? Wonder if it would be worth it to start a thread for that?
  • One of my friends went in for a induction today and they decided to stop pitocin and try again tomorrow. I don't know how I would feel about that.

  • @megpeg that almost happened to me with DD. I went in for an induction w/pitocin and after not having much progress throughout the day, I was given the option to have a C-section or stop, eat (I hadn't eaten for 24 hours at that point) and start again the next day. I opted for the latter, and mere minutes after I finished talking with my doctor, my water broke and off we went.

Hope all goes well for your friend!
  • @megpeg that happened to my friend twice with her first and three times with her second. She was 10 days overdue and two failed inductions with her first and 17 days and three failed inductions overdue with her second when they finally showed up.
  • @megpeg I’m amazed by the kind women who answered that question so genuinely. I 10/10 would have given a BS answer but I think I’m officially too pregnant to filter my snark  :#
  • @mdfarmchick she texted me this morning and said it's still not working. She dilates to a 1 and stays there. But she said her cervix is turned and not working right.

  • @megpeg she must be so frustrated! At what point do they force a c-section? Or can she opt to keep trying for a vaginal birth?
  • @ShawnnaO she didn't say... I don't know why they're forcing it anyway. Her due date was Sunday but she wasn't sure of her LMP so it could be off. They were telling her the baby was on the big side(9lbs) but maybe shes not and just not ready.

  • @megpeg it’s tough to be in her shoes. I can’t imagine being sent home. Possibly twice. Growth ultrasounds are notoriously wrong, especially this late. If there’s no medical concerns, I personally would ask for a few days because I had a pitocin induction with my first—my contractions weren’t “regular enough to progress labor” and my water had broken. And pitocin is just not very fun. Keep us posted; I’m thinking of her. <3

@mdfarmchick I was induced with my first because they said he was at least 9 pounds and came out at 7pounds.
She ended up getting sent home for the weekend and they will do another induction next week if nothing happens this weekend then she will have a csection next Wednesday.

  • @DDRRT1982 Yes! I just washed all the baby clothes yesterday and put them away. It's so exciting! But I still have 10 weeks left, I maybe jumped the gun a little lol
  • Go girl!  I hope to reorganize my house too, but have no incentive.
  • We just bought our house in 2017 and I’m still trying to get everything unpacked and organized, with zero storage space :/ my kitchen cabinets don’t even have shelves in them and it’s literally driving me insane.
  • @BrittnieMariee have you tried the wire racks you can buy to add storage to shelves? Some of them are stackable? I’d totally be making MH make shelves. LOL
  • @mdfarmchick we have a few but they aren’t big enough for the cabinets and food gets lost all the time :D we’re supposed to put actual shelves in there once we get a little extra money. So maybe after we get our return lol
  • Tonight we put my 2y2m old in his new big boy room with big boy bed and no binkys. He hasn't asked or noticed the missing binkys but having a hard time. Surprisingly he hasn't been getting out of bed, just whining and rolling around in there. It's been 1.5 hours and he's not down yet, I wish I could drink through this to be honest, eeeekkkkk! I might cave and give him the damn binkys!
  • My 2.5 yr old learnt that if he'll start crying and say his stomach hurts it'll get me to come take him from his crib. He threw up twice last week randomly, so I'm not sure if he means it.
Its cute when they get smart, but I'm feeling manipulated.....

  • @bravoandprosecco oh well! You can always fight the binky battle later. Hopefully he slept all night!
  • @bravoandprosecco good luck with both transitions! It’s so hard, so do what you have to do to get through it.

We took away the paci last night...it was a little rough at first, but we made it through it. We made it a big celebration this morning, which made him happy. Tonight he had no problems...he asked for it, but understood that he didn’t need it. I feel so bad though cause it’s been with him his whole life, so it has to be hard.

Tomorrow his big boy bed bed is being delivered, crossing my fingers that goes well.
  • @bravoandprosecco haha I said the same thing about the paci for my kid, I was like you can have that thing forever. Thankfully it was gone by the time he was 3. One transition at a time was all we could handle!
  • Oh man @crossfitbabybump I hate when a lady is a little too excited to see DH at work... like you better show me that same excitement when you see me!

  • Right!?!? I have a lot of male friends and I am sure to be super respectful to their wives and establish a friendship with them. It's just the respectful thing to do! I actually become better friends with the wives than I do their husbands lol.
