Hey, we are having babies this year!

Slightly awkward. DH invited his friend and his friend’s wife over to watch football today. We have a 5 year old and a 3 year old. I predicted what would happen. Spot on. They end up watching football in the basement while I entertain our kids by myself upstairs. I like his friend’s wife (from what I know after meeting her just today - besides a hello for 5 minutes 3 months ago) but I’m a little stuck if I don’t want my kids to be “disturbing” their football watching by storming downstairs constantly. So DH is entertaining both guests while I watch a movie with the kids. Whatever.

Edited to add: I have been cooking our customary Southern good luck meal with DH all day(black eyes peas, collard greens, corn bread) And now that we're done I am nauseous. Happy 2018 to me!

I am finally painting the nursery today- 5 years ago today I was painting it too. I can't leave it purple when we are team green so it is a nice shade of gray with blue green undertones that will look great with almost any accent color.

@StephBrim24 I love the color! I was going to do white stripes with it but I don't think I want to now. The color I got was silver mist from sherwin Williams.

LADIES. February just had their first birth!!! Which means we're next!! ... although fingers crossed it's hopefully not too soon.

@ashleyf911 that is such a scary thought. I could easily be a Feb mama since my due date is 3/1. My son was a week early but I was induced with him so there’s no telling when this baby will be here!

Probably more like a MBF than a weekly random, but it's -26 degrees F with wind chill in Chicagoland right now, and my skin still hurts from my brief time outside getting to work this morning. Ready for springtime and our springtime babies!

@gh515 isnt it awful? Eastern Iowa here, it was -22° with a -40° windchill when I woke up this morning.  All the local schools had to cancel classes because the school buses were all gelled up. Luckily I'm on vacation so I can stay inside all day but the toddler is getting cabin fever.

@ashleyf911 YIKES! Yeah, I hesitate to complain about temps here, knowing some other more northern and Canadian Bump-ers have if much worse. -40 is crazy. Sometimes I think everything below 0 feels the same, but then it gets colder, and I remember I'm wrong. Stay safe and warm inside today, and good luck with toddler who has no way to comprehend such cold! (;

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been MIA for the past like 2 weeks--I pretty much only use TB while at work because the app drains my phone battery so badly. But I'm back at work, so back on here too. Yay! I hope everyone had a great holiday!

Also, @megpeg @StephBrim24 I'm team green too! I don't think there are many of us left haha are you two getting sick of the "oh I could never do that. I'm such a planner!" and "how can you stand the wait? I was so excited to find out!" comments too, or is it just me? I may punch the next person who says something along those lines. Just because we want to be surprised does not mean we aren't planning or excited, people!

My one bedroom apt looks a bit like a storage space with the registry items arriving. Love getting gifts and am so grateful! But we are gonna be a mess until we are able to move to a bigger apartment in June. 

My mom did say that you are will never be free of clutter until they are off to college.

  But then there have been the- didn't you want to find out once you got into the U/S?
  I get more annoyed at the - when are you due? Oh, you look so big already...
I am 5'2" and have a short torso and am overweight anyway so yes I look big, thanks.

@megpeg why is it so hard for people to just say, "wow that's so exciting! Congratulations!" and not comment on every other thing? So obnoxious!

On another note, there's a September 2018 BMB you guys! Our babies will be 6 months old by then! This is craziness!!!

My husband is a contractor and can build just about anything... I found a dresser for our DS that I want and of course, he wants to build it. Totally fine! However I found the dresser like 2 months ago. I finally told him that if he didn't build by the end of Jan I was going to buy it. He started building it over the weekend. Haha I can't wait until it's done!

@stlbuckeye132 yes! The team green comments are getting old. This is our second time being Team Green & people are still saying the same things. It bothers them not knowing more than it does us.

@kbiala I don't get it! I can handle one or two comments, but some people just get stuck on it and cannot move on. My not finding out until birth literally has no effect on your life whatsoever, so why are you so concerned about it?

Here goes the one hour glucose test for me! The flavor never gets me too much but ugh...all that sugary sweetness feels so gross. And I have never been good at drinking things quickly, so that turns my stomach too. I’m so glad to at least just start with the one hour test.

AFM, the toddler woke up at 3 am ready to party and even though we both got morning naps, I am seriously dragging. Plus MH went back to work today and I could use a second parent since all I want to do is sleep.

@chasingroygbiv - I'm a February mom, too. But I think I will post my announcement in here since this is where I've been the whole time. I never changed months when my DD changed, lol. Are you going to post in here?

@stlbuckeye132 , I think people get stuck about the team green concept because so much baby stuff is gender specific. But we found lots of gender neutral items when shopping for DD1 and IDC if DD2 uses blue bottles or pacifiers, they serve the same function as the pink ones. Besides, most babies are pretty gender ambiguous if you take away all the bows and specific colors. DD1 would be dressed in all pink and people still guessed she was a boy.

@crossfitbabybump omg I'm obsessed with Chip and Jo and was Sooo excited to see the announcement on Instagram this morning!!! I would love her to have a baby line! 

@mdfarmchick my guy was up at 1 am and took forever to settle. Work sucked and I took a small nap when I got home while pretending to play

Staying in a hotel with a toddler and two dogs tonight. None of whom are used to sleeping in the same room. 

10/10 would not recommend

@maelily15 - I survived it! Hoping the results come back soon and I can get an all clear.
When I went back to have my blood drawn, there was a woman in there that had just finished getting her blood taken and was white as a sheet and close to passing out. I felt horrible for her. She looked so miserable.

DS got another ear infection. I hate that he's been on so much med recently between his flu 3 weeks ago and his ear infection 6 weeks ago....
Also hate the crankiness and neediness that comes along with it....

Haven't posted on here in a while... I have my first NST later today. It's the home stretch to induction for me. Yikes!! Also hoping to get DS1s big boy room done today so I can set up the nursery for a newborn!

@ShawnnaO Oh man. I’m a military spouse, too. We’re PCSing in June across the country with a 2 year old, 3.5 month old, and dog. I’m so afraid. How many nights do you have to stay in a hotel?

@megpeg, @leilaquinn is in one of the fb groups and posted yesterday that she's still hanging in there. sounds like her bp is still creeping up though. Hopefully she'll chime in here soon!

It says @kiki75 was active today but I haven't seen her in our bmb for awhile.
