  • @lablover78. Cloth Diapers!  I started working on my stash when we were still not that far into TTC, I want to say early 2016 ish... lol two years of IF later, and we've got puh-lenty  :p
  • . How far along are you? 11 weeks 1 day
    What is your EDD? 7.22.18

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?  Shortness of breath. I still have the SCH, and had a little bleeding saturday for the first time since being off bedrest.

    3. When is your next appointment? Wednesday

    4. Anything else you'd like to share? I am just now starting to put on weight, I hate how nothing fits right. It took me like an hour yesterday to find something semi flattering to wear

QOTW:  Have you purchased anything for baby yet? I probably won't purchase anything until the third trimester to give time for the nursery to be setup (if it's a boy, otherwise they will probably share a room if it's a girl). I still have most of what I need anyway.
  • @Crystal321. I am relieved to hear someone else is experiencing the shortness of breath.  That was probably the very first thing I noticed last time, and I am having here and there again, but glad to know it may be a real symptom, and not that I'm just in complete denial of how bad of shape I'm in right now.  Lol though it may be a little of column A, and a little of column B.
  • 1. How far along are you? 12w1d
What is your EDD? July 15

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? Exhaustion, breast tenderness, random crying, random nausea, and crazy sense of smell -- DH cleaned the oven today and I cried because it smelled awful. I yell at him more often and get so randomly emotional. Poor DH!

    3. When is your next appointment? Thurs Jan 4 for genetic testing/ultrasound

    4. Anything else you'd like to share?
I asked about ultrasounds in the Dec thread so thank you for your answers! Mine have been at:
7w2d - confirmation with RE and to hear heartbeat (was supposed to go at 6 1/2 weeks but that was Thanksgiving!)
9w5d - transvaginal ultrasound at new ob-gyn clinic (I was feeling nervous and requested it especially since I was switching to a new OB but didn't realize I'd get an abdominal one at the actual OB appt)
10w1d - abdominal ultrasound during official first OB appointment
Upcoming at 12w4d for genetic testing and I assume another abdominal u/s at 14w OB follow-up. So many follow-ups since I decided to stick with the high-risk clinics for now.

I also failed my 1hr glucose test so I took the 3hr test last week, which was awful, but it looks like I passed! The results looked okay and I haven't gotten a call from the dr so no news is good news.

QOTW:  Have you purchased anything for baby yet?
Not yet. I thought about getting a baby book (for ultrasounds, milestones, etc) as a Christmas gift for DH but decided against it because I think he'd like to help pick it out. I'm still feeling so cautious about not jinxing it, so not shopping yet even though I just bought gifts for a friend's shower and there'll be another shower for another pregnant friend in Feb. Glad I'm not the only one @coco305 !

Also, what are you purchasing as new and what are you purchasing as used or getting as hand-me-downs?
  • @BusinessWife I had it super early this pregnancy, especially going upstairs.
  • @jr102217 - I was planning on getting some stuff used like high chair, crib (not the mattress), bouncers and etc. I will prob buy onesies etc all neutral and new to start and then once our baby starts walking get him boy stuff at consignment shops. Some toys are better used as they won't use them for long. What were you thinking of buying used?
  • @jr102217. Most of my diaper stash I purchased new, but I did get some great preloved wool covers from eBay, and I've gotten a couple items of maternity clothes, as well as wraps, slings, and various carriers can be great to find secondhand, some barely used!  I would ha e no problem with secondhand baby clothes too, because they wear them so briefly, most things are outgrown before they are worn out.
  • My husband is getting over a cold and keeps insisting on watching TV with me but he coughs constantly and I might murder him. So basically I’m living the dream
I know how you feel!  My husband is also getting over a sickness (I hope it’s almost done anyway).  I’ve resorted to giving him some leftover antibiotics from my last transfer since he refuses to go to the doc
  • @hreason1114 I feel so badly being so mean to him since I know he can’t help it but I am already on my last nerve and that loud, sharp hacking is startling. I’m over it.
  • @sarcasticowl I have been so irritable lately.  Omg I have just been asking DH why he insists on being so freaking annoying!!!??! Lol

But the shoe is on the other foot over here, as I'm the one who can't stop coughing... :disappointed:
  • @sarcasticowl I know!  As I type that and I feel a little guilty for complaining that he’s sick, he begins to hack and sniffle non stop sooooo I’m back to annoyed haha

    1. How far along are you?  So I had this sort of correct before but went back to look at dates in detail on my fertility calendar and it says I am 5 weeks and 2 days. The good news is that by the calculation I did online said I should be able to hear heartbeat on 1/10.  That isn't too far away and gives me hope. It's weird how it is calculated from date of last period and confuses me every time. The pregnancy brain isn't helping!

What is your EDD? 9/1/2018 don't know exact date from doctor yet, but new calculation came up with this.

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having? So my mood swings are getting a bit more intense.  I don't really like New year's so been a little down from that. Also still trying to taper off Zoloft completely so all that equals grumpy! Boobs just started hurting and now I'm like super hungry. Craving anything salty like pickles and pepperchinis and hot sauce. Trying hard to keep excersizing because also very tired.  Also have pregnancy brain already, can't remember when I walk in a room why I went in there!

    3. When is your next appointment? Next beta tomorrow Tues (nervous) but it is what it is. No use in worrying and suffering twice. (That's what I'm telling myself anyway) Also have nutritionist appt tomorrow. Going weekly now because I am starving all the time and there is a lot of trouble I can get into in 2 weeks which I was doing before.

    4. Anything else you'd like to share? Just that I understand the ladies above regarding being snappy with my DH!  Poor guy can't do anything right. I am totally with you @sarcasticowl and @hreason1114 and @jr102217.  I have been all over my husband about having healthy habits so he doesn't get me sick. He wanted to go out to movies in 25 degree weather with a tshirt and lined hoodie and sneakers. I made him put on the brand new fancy, warm Sorel boots and an also brand new nice jacket I just got him.   He had to make the hugest fight out of it and be so stubborn and we fought all the way to the movies! I didn't back down but finally explained that I didn't want him getting me sick because I'm pregnant and he chilled out. But jeeze Louise grow up!!  I think he also backed down because I showed him the weather warnings and he realized he would have been really cold without. I also apologized because I don't think I was very nice about it all, I just think it's so stupid not to wear warm clothes! The weather warnings here in North Texas literally listed that you should wear a hat and gloves and can get frostbite in 30 mins outside.  All these Texan idiots need the direction to dress warmly. I grew up here but my family is from Chicago and I have traveled a lot and lived in cold places, so guess I'm not as stupid as the rest.

QOTW:  Have you purchased anything for baby yet?  I haven't purchased anything yet, but I am shopping online and starting to plan. I worry I'll buy stuff then something will go wrong and I'll be upset and out of money.  So I'm not going to by anything until 2nd trimester which I guess will be about 2/28.  But that doesn't mean I can't pin stuff on Pinterest! And I'm excited to decorate babies room and get new furniture. I'm interested to hear what you all are buying though too! Seems like you are so prepared already and know what to buy!  So maybe I can learn from you.  I think I plan to do more of a neutral grey and turquoise and white room design. We already have that going so I can just tweak our guest room decorations toward the baby.
  • @amorey236 congrats on the boy!!!! So glad you got to enjoy on Christmas!
  • @hreason1114. Oh wow!  Congratulations!!!  That is so exciting!!!
  • @hreason1114 congratulations that's so great!
  • Congrats @hreason1114 and @BusinessWife enjoy the positive reassurance!!!!
    TTC since May 2013
    Mild PCOS, Compound Heterozygous MTHFR
No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion
  • 1. 4+6.  EDD 9/5/18
    2. I am having some nausea and fatigue but don’t know how much of that is from the progesterone and estrogen I am taking.
    3. Had second beta today - just waiting for the results.  3rd beta is on Thursday and U/S is on 1/9.

I haven’t bought anything yet- as I want to make sure all is good. This was our first and last round of IVF due to cost so I am being cautious but there are lots of items I want to buy!!

    What is your EDD?

Today is 6w. I think Edd I should 28 August. However won't make that with twins. My goal is 35 weeks so that is July 25.

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?

Sore boobs, was fine mood wise until yesterday. I cried for like an hour over probabaly having a c section. Surgery scares me. Some food adversions. I want MS ha.

    3. When is your next appointment?

Friday Jan 5 to hear heartbeats!!! Please still be ok!

    4. Anything else you'd like to share?

I have a whole stash of premium brand baby's clothes. From Goodwill and local thrift. They are basically brand new and high end like Baby Boden, Janie and Jack, vintage Gymboree.

    Congrats @hreason1114 on the heartbeat!!

@BusinessWife I also plan to Cd!
  • @Ash_SE Try not to worry about potential c-section. I am a surgical nurse, the docs are really good at what they do. Recovery isn't always the easiest I will admit (not speaking from personal experience) but it's a safe way to bring your twins into this world. I know it seems super scary but surgery is totally a breeze. Your hubby will be there with you and he will be your rock! And the best part will be those beautiful babies!!
  • @Ash_SE  So excited for you!  And I'm sure it's scary, too, but I know you will rock all of it when the time comes.  Your baby wardrobe sounds awesome!  Have you given much thought to how you plan to build your stash?
  • 1. How far along are you? 8w6d
What is your EDD? August 9th

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?  Tired, nauseous, sore butt from these pio shots!! But I’m done with them next week thank god!

    3. When is your next appointment? Thursday morning. Only two more appointments with my RE- can’t believe it.

    4. Anything else you'd like to share? I’m a teacher so going back to work today was not fun, especially with my pg symptoms. Not sure how I’m gonna get through the week! We should get extra “I’m too pregnant to come into work today” days ha.

QOTW:  Have you purchased anything for baby yet? No and it’s gonna be a while before I do. Pinterest is fun though

  • @Ash_SE try not to get too worked up over the C section. I had to have an emergency C Section due to the baby not being able to safely descend. I was terrified, but honestly it really was not that bad. The recovery is different for everyone, but truthfully it wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. The scar is hardly visible now and is so low, no one would see it even if it was obvious.

    You got this!
  • @hreason1114 that’s so awesome. congrats on graduating!!

    @BusinessWife awesome beta!!

@Ash_SE aww don’t blame you for not wanting a c section. Most people feel the same. On the plus side my friend had one (she was sooo upset about having to do that) but now she says she’s kinda glad bc things didn’t get messed up down there from natural delivery! Lol. So at least there’s a positive.

@bpietronicco hope you got good beta results!

@hottietoddy I heard the heartbeat at 6w4d so you should theoretically be able to!! Hope you get to hear it!

@sarcasticowl not weird at all to be excited for symptoms! I hate feeling nauseous but I love the reassurance.

  • @mac627 beta came in at 280 which is around a 115 hour doubling time.  Because of the holiday, I didn’t have bloodwork 48 hours after the first one so I won’t know anything until Thursday’s beta.  Praying that it goes up and continues on into a healthy pregnancy.
  • @bpietronicco. Will keep everything crossed for your little bean!!! ❤❤❤

@laurad75. Right. Condescending.  That's exactly it.  Granted he is almost ten years older than me, but still.  He and my mom were talking like I was a child too, or like I wasn't even there.  I was like, are youbguys serious??? I'm an adult, 1, and 2, I'm standing right here.  That was pretty obnoxious. Lol

I am not sure when we will tell family, maybe family we see sooner, and then something mailed out later to the ones we dont see ever. Lol. Somehow I feel like I need to tell my mom first on principle, but it's tough because she's a blabbermouth. Lol. And even when we do reveal the pregnancy, DH is not about to disclose anything about the ivf part.
  • @bpietronicco fx it goes up Thursday!!

  • @amorey23 @BusinessWife I will get as many hand-me-downs as possible from friends and family members, but my group of girlfriends scolded another friend for using a used car seat instead of buying a new one. I haven't done the research yet, but I assume there are "expiration dates". I'm okay with getting as many secondhand items as possible (onesies, clothes, cribs, etc) as gifts instead of paying for new ones, since I know a lot of money will be going towards diapers and dr appointments! I'd have to trust a store to buy used items though, and I haven't done any research yet on reliable stores in the area but I know there are a bunch of consignment stores nearby.

@amorey23 Congrats on finding out aboout your boy! How did they find out the gender so early? I have my genetic testing/counseling appointments tomorrow so I'm making DH come with me to the ultrasound appointment in case we find out the gender then.

@hottietoddy LOL our poor DHs indeed. I think though that you were right about making him dress warmer! Your DH must be as stubborn as mine though. Once he picks a side of an argument, he'll stick to it no matter what, even (or especially!) when he's wrong. How did your beta go?
  • @hottietoddy That is such great news.  I completely understand being so cautious right now but today you and baby are doing great.  So happy to hear.

  • @jr102217 We did PGS testing on our embryos so we knew our four normal embryos were 2 boys and 2 girls. Since they were all the same grade/quality we asked our doc to surprise us with gender that he implanted. Then we got an envelope with the sex and opened it on Christmas
  • @hottietoddy that’s great!! Totally get the practicing pessimism thing- I’m exactly the same way! *tw* I had a mc too and felt the exact same way this time- so nervous to get excited. *end tw* When I first heard the heartbeat it was such a relief!! You will feel better when you hear it, but I don’t think we’ll ever stop worrying completely. IF really messes with you! Try to live in the moment and be excited for today.

@amorey236 that is such a fun way to do it!! Congrats on the boy!!
