To mamas with more than 2 or more kiddos, what items did you find yourself buying or replacing each time (bottles, paci, etc)? We are having another boy so we won't be having to buy much. edited because when do i not
@wildtot this will be my 2nd as well, but I remember hearing that it's recommended to replace the used bottle nipples and pacifiers. I threw all of mine out, granted there weren't many since back then we almost EBF. Someone with more experience can verify though!
The only thing I am planning to replace are the bottle nipples, a few pacifiers (my 1st never used them, thumbsucker), and splurge on a baby carrier (tula or ergo, not sure which yet). I really want a nicer rocker for myself, but my husband vetod it. Most of my nursery baby gear is gender neutral, so I should be okay there.
@wildtot I threw out all my bottles and nipples, and DS hated pacifiers. The only big purchases I’ll be getting is a swing and bassinet (we used a pack n play last time but DS outgrew the weight limit too quickly). If this next one is a boy I’ll need next to nothing except diapers, bottles, and maybe a couple pacis because both this baby and DS are summer babies. I’ve been eyeballing the Tula FTG too but I already have a standard Tula I promised DH I’d use for #2 too.
@wildtot we tossed all our old bottles. Well, what I really mean to say is we gradually lost them until it was time to wean DD off the bottle, Haha. But I'm going to buy the MAM bottles again, I really loved them. I did Dr. Browns with DS and the pieces never went well into the dishwasher.
@wildtot in addition to what others said about replacing nipples, I am also going to see if my insurance will cover a new pump. I have a medela pisa and since it's an open system I feel like I should replace it. I will still use my spectra though since it's a closed system (I keep one home and one at work).
Any STM+ experiencing worse pregnancy symptoms? I swear my round ligament pain has exploded since DS and DD I can't cough or sneeze without that stabbing feeling. Ugh.
I don't remember very many first tri symptoms with my son at all, but this time around was AWFUL. I had morning sickness so bad, terrible food aversions, and basically felt like hell for 6 weeks. Definately way worse than my first pregnancy.

How far along are you? 14 weeks How old are your other kids? 2 years and10 months(1child) Current challenges/concerns about being a STM+ or questions about things your children are going through now? My DS outbreaks and terrible tantrums. I can’t tell if it’s because he’s “on the spectrum” (questioning this) or because he’s just a regular two year old. My nephew is much worse(also two) So when I am around him, I’m thankful for my child. Lol. Also getting him to potty train. I get really excited when he takes off his pull-up and goes to the potty without me telling him...but then the next day it’s like I only dreamt about it, he’s back peeing in his pull-up. Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM: I get to gush over how cute my baby is and my toddler will get a sibling close in age. GTKY: If you could have dinner with any dead person, famous or otherwise, who would it be? Any Astrophysicist. I’m dying in my classes. I really really want to become an Astrobiologist but I’m lacking the motivation. I wish I can converse with them on remaining focused through the BS. Physics is no joke. Sometimes wondering if it’s worth it anymore. I need to snap out of it because I know if I think like this, I’ll end up quitting.
@flockofmoosen3 I wonder if it could be the feeling of almosy not being in control of his body. I wonder if you modeled a somersault for him if he would want to try it? I think sometes they go through different sensory phases. dd used to love laying on her back in the bath now she cries and gets so scared if she tries it
