It's my first day back after vacation and my boss is on vacation, can't say I'm upset in the slightest. Nice relaxing first day back. I like her, but always nice when you can do your own thing without thinking they'll come in and critique something.
All you lucky momma’s heading into second tri! So jealous. We started traveling today to visit both sides of our family. First to Albany and then tomorrow we continue on to Buffalo. Then we turn around and come back Friday. So. Much. Driving.
Side question to all you ladies going into 2nd tri: are you still nauseous and exhausted? I’m only 9w2d and still in the trenches. I can’t remember when it let up last time but his time feels worse.
@ladyj2949 I still get tired very frequently. Good luck traveling, we just traveled over 10 hours twice last week and I'm over driving, forever. Do you have any stops along the way to do anything else or just going to family's houses?
@LadyJ2949 I still get weird bursts of exhaustion, I'm not sure how much of it is the pregnancy vs normal tiredness. I started feeling a LOT better starting like 9/10 weeks- now I'll only get a fleeting nauseous feeling every now and then. Much better! And you're driving so much! I hope you can squeeze in some car naps!
@lindsayleigh1989@gspmom21@acunamatada Are you considering beginning of week 13 as 2nd tri? For some reason I thought it would be end of week 13/beg of week 14 — given 13 weeks is closest to 1/3 of 40 weeks.
I'm comfy on the couch with DD, loooooooove being off of work. DH will be home soon with a jalapeno bagel for me, then we're taking DD to the local school to ride her new bike, then gym, then to Sephora to spend my gift card from Santa. Life is good today (other than the cat shitting on the floor this morning, I guess we can't have it all).
Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. H and I are off today and DS slept in over an hour later than he normally does, then watched cartoons in bed with us for another hour. Heaven!
Anyone have any good Instant Pot recipes? Santa brought me one and I am so excited to try it. Thinking about carnitas with Mexican rice tonight, mmm.
We had a really nice morning this morning. The kids were excited to play with their new stuff and that kept the tv off for quite a while which is also nice. Fighting *just* started- hallelujah!
I did it. I bought maternity clothing. I feel like I just jinxed myself because I am just shy of 11 weeks. But I am having trouble picking tops that I own that don’t display the muffin top.
I think the odds of a MC go down after 12 weeks, so that is when people start saying they are out of the 1st trimester. I think it is more like 13 or 14 weeks too. Congrats to those that are there!
I've always thought the 2nd tri started at 13 weeks, now I'm seeing on TB it says "last week in the 1st tri!" for 13 weeks. Oh well, lol- 13 weeks on Thursday- 2nd tri in my book!
@gspmom21 it has a few different functions...slow cooker, pressure cooker, steamer, sautee, rice cooker, and I'm sure others I don't know about. Supposedly you can cook frozen meats in like 15 minutes, so basically a slow cooker on steroids!
@gspmom21 it's a croc pot on crack! I bought one for myself on Black Friday, I haven't ventured past making soups and stews at light speed, but it's amazing.
@amylu914 it's the best!! DH adores it , he said it was the best wedding gift. An easy one I make is salsa chicken. A little bit of olive oil at the bottom, 2 chicken breasts, a whole jar of salsa. Cook on high pressure for 15. Tada! Delicious healthy chicken for tacos, salads, quesadillas, burrito bowls...there's a Facebook group with recipes apparently. I haven't joined but I should. Also, check out the blogger "theleangreenbean" , she is a dietitian and has a lot of IP recipes! Also works from home and has two adorable kiddos.
I feel like I won’t count it as 2nd Tri until 14 weeks...I’ve seen that as the marker a lot of places and I won’t feel like I’m really there until it’s indisputable everywhere, you know? Still excited to be getting closer...13 weeks on Friday
Thanks @kissableviv I just followed that blogger and joined an IP FB group. I've done salsa chicken like that in the crock pot but it always comes out a little dry and "sticky" as my H says. Im hoping the shorter cooking time with the IP will lead to more flavorful and moist meat!
I'm 10w2d today and husband and I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time today!! Had an appointment at a new OB's office and the nurse found the HB right away! It was amazing
I don't see a board for symptoms this week and I desperately need someone to help calm my nerves. I have been back and forth between the bathroom and my bed ALL day. I woke up to really painful cramp like pains in my lower stomach this morning. I'm 12wks and know cramping is normal during this time but all of the cramping I've read about is "sudden" and "doesn't last long" whereas mine has been all day.I took Tylenol and woke up feeling better for a little but now I'm back to not being able to move without pain. No spotting, its painful to the touch, and feels tight. Any experienced momma's know the feeling?
@craddockwifey313 my first thought was dehydration or constipation too, does drinking and laying on your side help at all? If the pain is unbearable or accompanied by spotting I would definitely call your doctor and see what they think.
I am sore all over. I think that my flat feet/over pronation is causing me to be out of alignment and I have pain going from my arch up my leg through my knee to my lower back. Some women miss alcohol. Some miss sushi. I miss biofreeze.
@amylu914 & @acunamatada there is no spotting, no differences with my urine and I've been very regular with my stool. I haven't gone #2 today yet but I've been drinking water all throughout the day. There's a possibility going #2 may help because I've had some pretty big gas pains and once they've passed I've felt slight relief. It's replaced by more pain just as quick as it passes though
@craddockwifey313 sounds just like the gas pains I had a couple of weekends ago. Extremely painful and they made it hard to move. My doctor told me to take gas x and walk around gently patting my stomach with my hand cupped. Between a hot bath and those things it really helped. Finally going #2 got rid of the pains altogether. I hope that’s all it is for you and you feel better soon!
@craddockwifey313 honestly if it were me I'd probably chock it up to gas pain especially coming off of a junk filled holiday weekend. Pregnancy messes with your whole digestive tract. But, you know your body best and you know the level of pain that you are in so if it persists it can't hurt to give your Dr a call.
@ashbub714 Gas x! I hadn't even thought to look up what I could take in case it was gas. Glad to hear that's on the approved list. Definitely going to try all of the above @amylu914 Very true. I tried to eat very light yesterday but did not shy away from the dessert table lol.
Ooh here’s a random I just thought of...when I learned about the snoogle from you ladies WEEKS ago I showed it to my husband briefly and didn’t think anything else of it. Well he got me one for Christmas and I was so surprised and excited!
