@purplg8r I know round cells are sometimes immature sperm cells and
sometimes white blood cells. If they are white blood cells that can
indicate the presence of an infection, so they probably want to rule
that out.
@madspunk Honestly after knowing many friends who have been through this process with failed IVFs and watching some of the ladies on here I’ve set my expectations super low, I have 100% belief that it’s will happen through IVF but who knows if it’ll be the first time or the 4th time. So instead of getting off the charts excited I’m keeping it at bay and just kinda going with the flow. @purplg8r Things are going well!! I even do them myself sometimes. The first time I did it myself H was here and the other night he had a work thing so I HAD to do it myself, super easy! Also I dont Know much about SAs Other than ours was low sperm count and 0 morph, everything else was normal, i think. What exactly do the 2 concerns mean? Is it treatable?
Apparently I go here now. How did this happen? I'm sure all of you have asked that. I haven't really been participating in TTGP lately because I haven't ovulated since July.
Diagnosis (If you've been): Oligoovulation
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFAF
What are you doing this cycle? Provera to force start a new cycle and then letrozole.
How are things going? I'm glad to be moving forward, but I'm also glad I can at least enjoy the holiday without stressing out about whether or not I might O.
Any questions? Not yet.
GTKY: Because I got my provera yesterday, I'm able to put down the pee sticks and thermometer for a few weeks.

Oh man, @Aurora1973, I know that feeling with the H's ex. She's a terrific mom and I'm so grateful for my DSS, but I'm definitely feeling bitter that I'm having so much trouble GKTFU. @madspunk - I'm sorry for another BFN. I hope the next IUI is successful.

So I'm 1dp5dt today, and so far all I'm feeling is a sore throat and a headache. I really hope I'm not getting sick, because DH was terribly sick last weekend, and it would be kind of crazy if I made it through the whole week of fet prep without getting sick, only to get sick right after transfer. But I accidentally took an Airborne last night without thinking, and then it says not to take it if you're pregnant or breastfeeding before calling your doctor. :# so I'm trying to tell myself it's too early for something like that to matter. But it's hard not to stress. Taking zinc lozenges instead, and I go in for labs tomorrow.... so I can ask any questions there.
Girl, do not even stress yourself out about an Airborne. One of those would not stop implantation. They are required to have one of those warnings about pregnancy on there, but it doesn’t say that they cannot be taken during pregnancy. Thinking of you and your sticky embie, @BusinessWife

@BusinessWife I dont think a little airborne is gonna hurt your chances, shoot look at freakin the crack heads and heroin addicts that get KU’d every damn day! Ask regardless but i don’t think you messed anything up.
Either my overies and/or adrenal glands are not producing a certain hormonal enzyme, DHEA. My blood levels were ‘immeasurably low’ for DHEA, DHEA-S, and testosterone. It also helps regulate estrogen. Combine that with high inflammation and slightly lower than a spring chicken’s eggs
(which can also be impacted by DHEA). I can undergo test to see if it is my adrenal glands, my ovaries, or both at fault. It’s the same treatment either way and costly to do the testing. Other testing has pointed to low adrenal gland functioning, so we are going to call it a day in that for now. Also, my progesterone has consistency been low mid-cycle.
I picked up the medicine today for the DHEA. The RE clinic will be in touch next week to arrange the first IUI cycle. I’ll be doing letrozole, gonal f or follistem, ovidrel, and then progesterone suppositories. Potassium was low. Platelets and white blood cells were high.
I asked about the CD3 labs in mid-cycle. The RE said that there are reference ranges for each part of your cycle, and mine fell within those ranges for mid-cycle. Additionally, RE said that given we are doing IUI with injectables, it wouldn’t change anything. I’m not overly satisfied with the answer, but I’m not overly irritated by it, either.
@pebbledam Sorry to see you on this thread. Happy to see you back posting again! Glad you’re able to destress a bit over O & backed away from the pee sticks!
@jrm_14 Firstly sorry that you do need some intervention - but mostly pleased that you are able to get results and start on a path with better chances so quickly! Like you say, as the treatment will be the same I think moving straight ahead with the DHEA is a good plan. Though of course we all love to have all the answers for why! Platelets and WBC high is I think to be expected of us, and at least both my Rheumatologist and RE are happy we can manage within my norms. Just a hint that my RE wanted me on DHEA for minimum 8 weeks before he would do next injectibles. If you’re not OOP no harm in trying already, but if you are maybe something to think about as IUIs with injectibles are not so inexpensive if you happen not to respond to low doses... Plus well done asking on the testing days, most can be tested at different times and interpreted within the cycle phase range but FSH is only a good indicator of reserve and likely response to injectibles if done on CD2-4. So I’m with you on Ok answer for now. But good they also know you’re watching them ;-) Keeping Fx for this next cycle for you!
@businesswife my DH swears by zinc lozenges :-) fx you don’t get sick!
@pebbledam welcome back but sorry you come back here. So good to hear you have a plan in place and and can get started once the provera does it’s job! Although the drugs and monitoring and expense are a pain, there is something quite satisfying about having your cycle controlled closely and not having to wonder if you O or not. And I only need to pinpoint within a week or so, can only imagine the frustration of checking every day for 6 months bless you. Fx the letrozole works its magic!
@purplg8r woohoo for the London and Paris trip. I’m in London with a DH right now and we had a great day shopping and in the parks today. Not much advice on the SA sorry, except do wait for the repeat before you get too worried. The first one for my DH also had round cells, but after two weeks antibiotics they found zero, and ever since also zero (each time we do IVF we get the SA results again). Also if round cells are an issue but not infection related then we were told the “washing” they do before IUI and IVF can basically solve that.
@redpuma119 yep me too. This has been much more noticeable for me since my first IVF round, also on the cycles in between totally unmedicated...
@madspunk so sorry. And whatever you do next will be right for you. It doesn’t have to be right for anyone else. For us IVF seemed a much bigger deal before we started than when we were actually doing it though!

@jrm_14 Thanks for sharing your RE experience! I'm glad you have a path forward. Will they do more testing after you've been on DHEA for a while to make sure it's working? I am so hopeful that this will make a difference for you!
@emmasemm I was hoping you’d chime in Yes- My platelets & WBC are always pretty elevated. As you said, par for the course for us. RE didn’t mention 8 weeks on the DHEA. I’ll be in it 4-5 when we start the IUI injectables. We will be OOP. I’ll add hat to my list to ask when I talk to the RE again next week! RE was happy I was already in ubiqunol. I’m happy to hear that you’re in that you’re in the spirit! Hopefully AF stays away.
@darkstar42 Yes! We will retest after a while (not sure how long).
@purplg8r I just started reading Renegades by Marissa Meyer. How about you? I agree with others about the round cells—might just be white blood cells from an infection.
@pebbledam sorry you find yourself here but I’m glad you’re getting some answers!

@darkstar42@ndz2018@emmasemm@shortstack930 I know that when we got the first SA results in August, he had the same issue so he went to the urologist and they put him on antibiotics. But I guess they didn’t do anything. And H is not a good question asked/note taker so all he got out of it was that he needs to do a semen culture and he can just get the results over the phone so he doesn’t have to waste money on the appt. (he remembers the money part of course).
@shortstack930 that sounds good! I’m starting a series I’ve had on my shelf—Peter and the Starcatchers
I had really hoped to have a good update today. (I had so much hope when I
saw that second pink line a couple days ago with a FRER.) Unfortunately, we are in
beta limbo since we are only at 15 today, 9dp6dt. Obviously, that's not where I
wanted to be. We'll go back on Tuesday for another draw. I know it's not
impossible for the levels to rise, but we know the odds aren't in our favor. Please pray for a
Christmas miracle for us.

RE was happy I was already in ubiqunol. I’m happy to hear that you’re in that you’re in the spirit! Hopefully AF stays away.
@darkstar42 Yes! We will retest after a while (not sure how long).
@pebbledam sorry you find yourself here but I’m glad you’re getting some answers!

Went for morning monitoring this morning. We have 7 ahead on the left ovary and 2 ahead on the right Plus 18 smaller follicles that I’m really hoping will catch up!!! So 27 in total. Lowering Gonal to 250iu tonight from 300 and sticking with 20iu of the Low Dose HCG and Cetricide(Ganirelix) back tomorrow morning for monitoring. I’m really hoping those smaller ones start growing!
