  • Keep those babies on the inside ladies! Prayers for you all!

@lucylou214 likewise -- thinking healthy thoughts for you and babe! I hear you on the lack of rest.  The MFM I saw today suggested Benadryl to help me get a good night's sleep, so I'll be giving that a try :) Keep me posted on how everything goes!
Thanks, and same to you! Thankfully I was able to sleep at home last night.  I had been totally running on adrenaline.

  • @sabriel1 , glad to hear that your DH is feeling better! Staying up late (or not) at home with junk food is entirely my plan too.
  • 32 Weeks!
    1) How are you feeling?
I'm feeling alright. Excited that my husband's Christmas break starts today. Also, a little anxious.

    2) Any appointments this week?
    3 hour glucose test today.

    3) Rants/Raves/Questions?
How in the world is there only 50-some days until my due date? Why do I all the sudden feel so unprepared for baby to come? This isn't my first rodeo. I know how to do all this. Why am I freaking out at 32 weeks?

    4) GTKY: Are you doing anything for New Year's Eve/Day?

I think we're going to MIL's. I'm only there for the food.
  • @sabriel1 I missed it somewhere...was the hematoma due to the vasectomy? After LO arrives DH is getting snipped with his friend ( whose wife is due 2 weeks after us).  He's nervous.
  • @TattoosandLace , good luck today! Keep us posted on how your test goes!
  • @Chawk17 yeah, it was due to the vasectomy, apparently it is like a 1% chance kind of thing. DH said if he had known he wouldn't have gotten it done so don't tell your DH haha.

It was bad from the beginning though and needed me to help him get out of bed for the first three days. He could hardly walk for 2-3 weeks. Now the hematoma is still there and quite large (imagine a small English cucumber) but it is only a bit tender. Doctor said it can take 6 months to disappear

  • @sabriel1 Holy crap! 6 months to go away?!? Sweet Jesus. That’s love though, right? This is our first child, and we know we want more, but DH is totally okay with having a vasectomy. I will not tell him about this incident.

My dh had a vasectomy 2 months ago.  He used an ice pack and slept the afternoon of the procedure.  He was up doing yard work the next day and said he should do a PSA for guys bc it was so easy/ painless compared to what women have to go through.  Hope your dh has a good experience.

We are just having this one kid, hope our vasectomy is as easy as your DH @neener*neener

    1) How are you feeling?
Feeling like it's hard to breathe, impossible to sleep comfortably, and like I sometimes have a bowl of Jello in my belly when I walk.

    2) Any appointments this week?  My last appointment was 2 days ago. Next one is beginning of January...growth scan, then regular appointment the next day.

    3) Rants/Raves/Questions? Not eating or making holiday goodies because of gestational diabetes is a bummer. I had a Lindor gingerbread truffle today though. Not all is lost.

    4) GTKY: Are you doing anything for New Year's Eve/Day?
I live in a city where fireworks are LIFE at New Year's, so going outside in the cloud of smoke is not on my agenda.
  • Anyone else here know if they are still breech?  The Dr. told me it's nothing to worry about yet, but that honestly hasn't stopped me from worrying...

My little one was breech probably up until week 30. I felt tiny little hiccups way lower in the pelvis and I’m thinking she’s head down now. My OB checked for a heartbeat above my belly button on Wednesday and couldn’t find it, but when I mentioned the hiccups, she did below the belly button and found it spot on. She might flip a few more times before settling in. Try not to worry too much!

We are breeched too, dr said don't worry. We've got time.  :)
  • Agree with PPs. My OB mentioned that they'll check on position around 36 weeks.
  • Baby is still breech. OB said she isn't worried about it until 36 weeks. I'm doing acupuncture next week to try to encourage him to flip. I have no idea how it's supposed to work but I had good experiences with acupuncture during IVF and it's covered by my insurance so I figured I might as well give it a shot.
  • Thanks, all!  I was feeling ok about it until I got The Bump 32 week update this morning ;)  @LadyMillil, let me know the accupuncture works for you.  I didn't have a great experience with it during IVF, so I'm heading to a chiropractor in a couple weeks.
  • I PASSED!

I’m slightly worried that the Birth photographer wont make it in time. We will see. Anyone doing birth photography or just Fresh 48?

    Congrats girl! Wooooo! Exciting news!

We’re planning on doing newborn photography, but I know the hospital does do the Fresh 48 and then just gives us the option to buy them. I’m sure it will tug at my heartstrings.
  • @TattoosandLace congrats on the pass!!

I saw the MFM specialist for the followup u/s. All looks good. He's vertex and starting to descent, AFI is in normal range and it looks like he's measuring at 34 weeks (32 weeks today) and just under 5 lbs, so the BP meds haven't caused any issues with his growth (one of the side effects and risks). The tech made sure to ask if I had glucose intolerance, which I don't and passed the 1 hour no problem. I just grow them bigger, but it's not like he's going to be huge or anything when I deliver around 38 weeks. I think he'll be right around 8 lbs. My oldest was 9 lbs and 22" at 38 weeks and ds2 was the same weight and length and dd2 8 lbs., 9 oz, so I expect 8-9 range and welcome bigger. I like 'em solid.

They've scheduled me for the final u/s at 36 weeks. Still doing the 2x/week NSTs starting on X-mas.

On another note, I'm now tossing around taking his newborn photos, but will likely rent a camera and lens as I sold my gear years ago. I figure it'll be worth it since he's definitely the last for us.
