@gusgus14 Your post reminded me of my last pregnancy at my 37 week appointment I was waiting in the room half naked and the doctor walks in looking at the chart... she goes, "Wow! I am a little concerned about that BP reading because it is so high for you [10 second pause]... oh no, that's your weight, sorry! BP is fine!"
I lol'd so hard. Glad to know my weight=an alarmingly high top BP reading! But anyway, I am glad yours went down!
I go tomorrow but could see my GBS was negative on Lab Corp's page last night. That's nice, although since I'm delivering in a hospital positive would have been manageable too.
Just had my 36 week check and GBS swab. Currently 1cm dilated! I know it means nothing and could sit here for weeks, but also excited! Should be about a week before knowing about GBS.
I had my first ever cervical check today. I didn't know what they were swabbing for (until I read everyone's posts on here) and the cervical check hurt, but mostly I think because of vaginal soreness. The doctor said I need to practice my breathing and also when he was doing it he said he felt sorry for me XD He told me everything while he was doing it but I certainly did not hear him--ow!--and when I asked if baby was head down he was like yeah...I told you that already. SO! Baby's head down, no cervical check next week (moving on to weekly appointments, wow how the time flies!) which must mean it didn't look ready anytime soon, and one of the girls in the waiting room was seriously about to give birth. Yep, she came to the doctor instead of the hospital and they were all rushing around because of her and by the time they assessed that yes, she is indeed in labor, she was being helped outside with her friend and a nurse and crying and moaning. I hope she didn't end up giving birth in the car

Had my 37 week appointment yesterday. No big revelations... Everything is looking normal. They didn't check my cervix, so who knows if I'm dilated or effaced. I definitely feel like my body is preparing for itself, though.
I think I posted last week that I was also GBS+. I really didn't think getting that extra IV was a huge deal, but I feel like some people on here realllyyy don't want it. Is it that bad?
Just got out of my 36 (almost 37 really) week appointment. Midwife verified that baby has dropped and the growing pains I've been feeling in my legs are actually due to the head engaging. Still head down, yay! No cervical check. AAAND I got to do my own GBS swab lol fun times.
@whitta1218 For me personally, being found neg for GBS means just one less thing that could get me hooked up to an IV. With DS, I was completely med-free and free moving (intermittent monitoring was available at that hospital) so I essentially labored for a couple hours at the hospital as I did at home...in any position I liked. It was glorious (for labor....).
Just had my 37 week appt. Nothing too new from last week. GBS negative-yay! Still only a half cm dilated but 50% effaced now. I’ve been having more and more BH this week. After the cervical check I’ve had 2-3 per hour and a couple of random contractions in the menstrual area that I have to breathe through. No where near as painful as active labor but catching me off guard nonetheless.
@whitta1218, I was GBS positive last time, and I am this time as well. I honestly don't even remember the antibiotics last time, so that's how much they didn't affect me. Granted, I had a REALLY fast labor, so everything kind of blends together...
@whitta1218 I am GBS + too! I mean I figure I can't do anything about it anyway, so it is what it is and if I am a little uncomfortable so be it.
AFM, had my 37 week appointment today at 37+4. I have been having major cramping (nothing consistent) and back pain and baby girl is lowwww and engaged. The pelvic pressure and pain is legit ridiculous. So doc checked me all out and thinks that I will go into labor on my own before my 38 week appointment on the 22nd. She said if I don't (which she finds highly unlikely) then she will do a check and potentially jump start my labor. Baby Girl is estimated between 7-8 lbs. currently. Soooo I guess I am officially on baby watch and I am not going to lie I am slightly freaked out and nervous! Here is to the potential of a Christmas Baby!
Just had my BP check appointment. Welp it's up almost 20 points since Monday but still in normal range. I'm feeling kind of bummed bc this is exactly how things went with DDs pregnancy which led to a 14 day hospital stay. The only silver lining I see is that my BP creeping up is happening a whole week and a half later than with DD. So maybe it will stay good until after christmas (I'll be full term on Christmas day) and I won't have to have any hospital bed rest.
Wednesday, I started having some cramping. By that night it was terrible, so I went to lay down at like 7:30, but it woke me up and I didn't sleep well. Thursday, it wasn't getting better, so I called and told them I was having cramping, but it did not feel like contractions and I had a headache, so I figured I was just dehydrated. Of course they wanted me to come in. All was basically fine. She said I was in fact having contractions, but it was having no affect on my cervix, so I need to just keep an eye on my water intake.
Then, this morning, I went in for my NST and LO failed even after me drinking juice and being buzzed. It wasn't until the very end that he started moving. They said they were going to let me go, but stressed that I absolutley have to up my water intake and call if I have any cramping at all.
Looks like I am going to have to set alarms on my phone or something to remember to drink water, but I mean really self? How does one forget? Haha
33 week went well. The BPP went well too. They gave me creepy alien photos of her. They offer so I figure sure, send them my way. She did do a cervix exam, mostly because of the pain I felt yesterday, she said I'm still at a 1 but I'm 50% effaced. So my dilation hasn't increased since 28 weeks so thats good news.
34 week ultrasound and appointment was today. Overall was a good appointment, but a little unexpected. Baby Girl is still almost a pound smaller than Baby Boy (85% vs 47%) but they've both grown enough (on the curve or whatnot) in the last 2 weeks that my OB isn't as worried that the other twin is stealing all the nutrients and whatnot.. Had a little comedy after we were done talking about the growth discrepancy, Doc asked if we had any questions like she does when we're wrapping up the appointment, and DH asked, "since the boy (Baby A) flipped, does that mean that Casey will be having a C section now?" Doc looked shocked, grabbed her papers, and then said, "jesus, the little asshole flipped on us!" She had been so preoccupied looking at the US images of Baby Girl and calculating her growth, that she missed the line on the report where Baby Boy is now "breech"....then she looked worried and cautious, like we were going to raise a stink about her calling our baby an asshole, but we were too busy laughing to care. at. all.
But yea, we just went from 2 heads down last week to Baby A being breech, so we had the C-Section "talk" and have tentatively scheduled it for Saturday January 6th (will be 37 weeks)... If they flip back then I have the green light (to try) to deliver vaginally.
Blood pressure has slowly been creeping up (i'm at the "very high end of normal"), and i've had kind of consistent headaches, so I've been instructed to call in to the office if i have a headache that lasts more than 2 hours and a dose of tylenol doesn't work. Also, at my appointment on Friday next week, if my BP is still elevated, Doc said that she's going to bump up the c-section a week, which would put us in the week between Christmas and New Years.
Had my 36 (36+4) week appt yesterday ... got swabbed and checked. I’m a “loose 1” as she put it , and soft but the baby’s head is still high so not expecting anything soon. Which is fine bc I really don’t want to give birth before Christmas. NST on Wednesday went great. Just can’t wait to not be pregnant anymore

I guess this doesn't really count as an appointment, but I just had a prenatal massage and oh my goodness it was the best thing ever. I highly recommend, especially this far along, it was so nice to be comfortable for a little bit.
My mom and I went for hour long foot massages and I did a quick 20 min chair massage after and it’s amazing how much better I feel! I told DH I’m doing that weekly till baby gets here (it’s the only thing that makes the swelling in my ankles go totally away at this point lol)
