Weekend Randoms 12/9

Re: Weekend Randoms 12/9

  • @llamamama14 I do the urban decay basics because there’s just fewer shades. I had the naked 2 and ended up giving that one to my sister because a lot of the shades are really dark and I wasn’t using it enough. I would like to have the naked 3 palette because I like the rose shades in that one and I think I could use that whole palette.

  • @Llamamama I don't use the super dark shades besides the black which I use as a soft eyeliner. The Naked Basics only have 6 shades, which I use all.

I'm bad to ask though, because I buy makeup way more so than I need. It's almost like a collecting type thing to me. Makeup feels like art and I like to look and see all the pretty colors and see what I can come up with. It's therapeutic to me. Still, way more than I could ever use up. The colors just make me happy if that makes any sense.
  • @llamamama14 I definitely do but I also like to play with makeup. Even if you stick with basics, I find the colors I want vary with seasons (bc both my skin color and color preferences change) so it’s nice to have the variety.
  • @austenista @amy614 @doxiemoxie212 thanks. That makes sense. I think once my Clinique sample bites the dust I might upgrade to the Naked Basics.  (And a nice brush instead of the dinky applicator that comes in the sample...) Make-up has never been a creative outlet for me but I can see how the bigger palettes would be fun/make sense if you like to experiment and change up your look. I don't really change my colors by season, either. (Don't get tan enough...)

So, funny story about the "race" I did this morning. I was paired up with a sweet 4th grader, so I was following her lead. Here's how it went: jog about a quarter mile, take a walk break, jog a little more, take a potty break at mile 1 (surprisingly her, not me!), find a jiggle bell on the ground and stop to attach it to her race bib, walk most of the way, spend the last mile convincing her that we can't sit on the frosty grass because "our" legs hurt, see the finish line and sprint to the end. It was a really fun experience...but I gotta say, I didn't think it would take us 50 minutes to complete 5k  :p

I'm so sorry to you ladies who are still so sick! I hope you get relief soon :(

I have UD Naked 1,2 and 3...and I'll say the left side (lighter colors) runs our WAY quicker than the right side for me. The price of the palette is about the same as 3 of their shadows individually (and they're the same size), so if you'd use even 4 or 5 of the 12, it's worth it IMO. Another good option is the Too Faced Natural eye. It's more compact and has 9 shades  (3 matte and 6 shimmer so you get some variety). I also prefer the Too Faced matte palette over the naked basics because you get warm and cool in one palette.

Edited - typos, like whoa  :D

  • Drove 2 hours, one way for target only to find this target has no maternity section! Argh. I did find clothes for everyone else for our family pictures, but will have to order something for me. And still no maternity jacket. I'm gonna freeze! Lol

We may not have sex again for another 26 weeks + 6+ weeks of recovery time. Think we are both traumatized. We had sex for the first time since finding out and after we finished I was spotting. It's lightening up, it's barely pink, no cramping. While I know it's normal, I think it freaked us both the F out. Once I realized he too was freaking, I tried to be the rational one and tell him it's the same as my gums bleeding but I don't think he will be touching me with a 10 foot pole any time soon.

I'm still mildly freaking out and doing a toilet paper check like every 15 min.

Tell me I'm not alone in the spotting after sex.

*Edit* It was never red at any point. Only light pink/orange?
  • Feeling guilty  :(  it was thyroid check time. The office took a wk to send me a script for labwork. But then I put it off till Friday (hard with work and forgot thurs). But Just got my results over night and it's elevated to 5.5 (normal is under 4. Pregnancy should be under 3). Now I have to wait till tomorrow to call the dr... fight with them on how to get my results asap (long story in itself why it's a fight). And hopefully get a new dose called in by tomorrow to start tues. Arrrgh, I'm sorry baby.

  • DH agreed to get pancakes with me from this place that doesn’t take reservations and always has a crazy wait, but even though he knew what he was getting into he is still soooo mad about the wait. Wahhhhh...  :| we’re sitting in a nearby cafe while we wait and he’s trying to remain grouchy even if something funny happens lol sigh

@amy614 I’ve had spotting after sex twice since becoming pregnant and it definitely does give you an uneasy feeling  :s both times we had been a little more.. frisky... than usual, so I guess we will just be having boring sex for the next little while.
  • @sunshineandwhiskey @krashke @emjeve@icecubeinthedesert @ohshenaniganz Another stressful OT WIN 2 weekends in a row! But a win is a win and we should see an early Christmas present next Sunday with Rodgers return! We can still run the table! Go Pack GO! <3

@katelynrae86 I coached GOTR for several years.  Not sure how your girls will be,  but I never had to be in amazing shape for the 5k ;) I "ran" one 11 months pregnant and kept up just fine!

Eta: oops, missed your more recent post. Looks like we had similar experiences. Still fun though!

Also WHAT nobody is ever 11 months pregnant??? I meant 8. Mom brain on point.
  • @stephcat421 all I kept muttering today during the game was, “we’re losing to the f-ing  browns. How are we losing to the f-ing browns?” Thank goodness we pulled through on that one!! I’m dreaming of a Rodgers Christmas!  :D

  • @sunshineandwhiskey all I kept saying was how much I thought Hundley stinks but then it dawned on me he's probably not that bad we are just spoiled at qb in GB with Farve, Rodgers (Starr b4 my time).  Remember to R-E-L-A-X and enjoy the ride, it's not over yet. It does sting that the Vikings are doing so well grrr
  • @pupsicle23 I laughed out loud at 11 months pregnant. File that under something I would never like to see...especially running. Ouch!!   :D
  • @izza2 how are you doing, friend? Thinking about you this evening.
