We're getting some tiny flurries here. (First snow!)
I'm ordering refills on make-up. I'm happy with my bare minerals foundation and concealer. Any favorites for lips, cheeks or lashes? (I usually do drugstore mascara and lip balm.)
Massages today! Then pancakes tomorrow morning followed by a Cookies & Latkes party! And packing for CA on Thursday.
@llamamama14 I'm pretty strictly a Sephora girl when it comes to makeup, but all the youtube vloggers are obsessed with the Maybelline lippies, and I think the blushes they like are... Melani? Wet & Wild for highlighters. Physician's Formula for bronzer.
For lashes, seriously get L'Oreal's Lash Paradise - there's no reason to spend more money. Or get a deluxe sample of whatever Sephora is offering. I do not pay money for mascara because I just get deluxe samples from Sephora.
@lisa2589 folks love BTS mascara, but I actually think Stila HUGE is better if you're looking for volume, and YSL baby doll is best overall. (But again, I wouldn't pay for them........ free travel samples, all the way)
@Llamamama I second Better than Sex mascara, but I do find I need a lash primer umderneath or it smudges. I also love Tarte lights camera, lashes.
Nars blushes are amazing (I use the old favorite "orgasm" which is designed to be flattering on all skin tones because it has warm and cool undertones but they have a lot of colors). I also love the Becca highlighters - They have different formulas depending on the finish you want (cream is more subtle, powder is more intense).
Sephora brand makes a great liquid lip, if you like the matte long wear formula (and they're pretty inexpensive). My lips are so dry, I'm a gloss girl forever, even when it's not "on trend" - my favs are Buxom and Marc Jacobs.
I worked for sephora for 8 years pre baby, so I could talk about this all day
And now I want a massage, too. Hope it's very relaxing @doxiemoxie212
AFM , I'm going to run a 5k this morning and I'm regreting it...my "training" has been less than ideal and it's really cold out! haha...but I volunteered to be a running buddy with Girls on the Run, so I'll be there. It's a non competitive race that a bunch of little girls have been training months for, so I think it will actually be really fun once I get going...but right now, in my Pjs drinking coffee, 3 miles sounds like about 30...
I'm coming down with a cold. Booo! I'll be sick for weeks, and have a terrible cough that will linger on for close to a month. Also, my son is a quiet pooper, and usually I use my nose to tell if he's got a dirty diaper, but now I'll have to check him a billion times a day, lol. We are going into town today though! I'm finally going to get a maternity jacket. I've been freezing this last week!
Mascara: My fav is the Tarte lights camera lashes mascara. I have also hear good things about the L’Oréal lash paradise, it’s on my list for when my current mascara runs out.
Now I want to go make up shopping lol. AFM...I am laying in bed with MH, the dog and the cat. Probably going to bake some ginger bread men today and tonight we’re going to see the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train.

Me too me too me too on Lights Camera Lashes! Love that stuff and reach for nothing else.
Also, Tartes Shape Tape for concealer. Nothing can beat this stuff for under eyes.
I guess I really am a Tarte girl without realizing it. I'm not super finicky about blush but I do have their blush palettes that I end up using a lot, probably more of a convenience of having a bunch of accessible colors in one place.
Not a huge fan of a lot of color on my lips so I gravitate to Buxom glosses.
Mark Jacobs has THE best eyeliner. It does not move. Not even on the waterline.
Highlight: I love Stilla Kitten in the Heavens Hue Highlight for something subtle and Gilded Honey by Laura Mercier if I'm looking to be dramatic.
I'm not super high maintenance or anything. Just a girl who lurveees makeup. I can he ready with shower included in 45 min. If my hair wasn't such a greaseball and needing to be washed everyday, I could probably cut it down by at least 10 min. Hoping pregnancy changes that for me like it did my mom. She was super oily too, until I was born. That would be nice. No signs of it yet. Still here with oily hair and pimples.
MH making fried eggs this morning and he smashes the yolk with the spatula! I’m like “what’d you do that for!?!” He’s like “you can’t have raw yolks” I mean like yeah technically but it’s not that big of a deal and if I can’t have a dippy yolk for my toast then I’ll just have scrambled, TYVM.

@amys614 I was on a huge Shape Tape kick but I felt like it was starting to make my under eyes look cakey so I switched back to Urban Decay Naked concealer. But I feel like my tube was getting dried out so maybe it was just old.

I need all new makeup. I was very into it before I had baby #1, stopped wearing it out of paranoia during pregnancy, and just never picked it back up after DS was born. I know we had a conversation about how we shouldn’t do that to ourselves after baby, but I definitely did. It’s a lot harder to do more than the bare minimum with a kid to think about. ...but I want to so much.
I’ve been thinking as a gift to myself this year I should rejuvenate all my makeup and skincare products. Everything new to feel pretty again. I miss me time so much.
Me too. I’m doing what sounds a wee bit better that you, but not by much. Publix just filled my prescription for nausea and I’m in serious prayer that it helps. We are like within a day of each other due date wise, yes? Why the heck is it at its worst when it’s supposed to be waning right now?
All the hugs and solidarity. Hoping they can help you out.
@izza2 ugh I’m so sorry. I hope they are able to help and get some food in ya!!
I def need to come back to the makeup talk too. I suck at it and just can’t find anything that works. Esp since my skin is super dry and oily at the same time.

@krashke that’s how I feel too.. I miss my over easy yolky eggs
AFM heading out to my parents place in the country. They just got a new puppy so we are bringing our dog & DD over to meet her
also, baby is getting STRONG! started feeling movement on Monday and for the past two days I keep putting my hand on my stomach because it feels like I could almost feel the movement on the outside by how strong it is. Best feeling ever
Dropped DH off at the airport for a quick 1 night away. On the way home, I decided to get myself a breakfast burrito to share with DD solely to avoid dirtying up pans and dishes and then cleaning it all up. Nobody has time for that ish when solo with a toddler.
I love make up but not real knowledgeable about it. I focus on eyes, love a good eye look. But I buy drugstore mascara. Think its covergirl. I have good lashes though so it's enough.
i could actually use some tips on a good eyeshadow palette brand (tans/browns). I've been getting ipsy for over a year to find good brands of all make up but can't find a great shadow that goes on nice. And decided that's on my Christmas list... but obviously need to give DH exact names to find it lol
AFM. DH had to go back to work today after our couple days off. So ive been playing with DS. Having lunch now (yum ramen lol). Waiting for him to take a nap cause I got a few things to take care of.

My fav eye shadow palettes are the Tarte tartelette in bloom, good matte warm and cool browns and a couple shimmers, or the Too Faced semi-sweet chocolate bar. People swear by the original chocolate bar but I like the semi-sweet better. If you want more warm tones and some pink/peach the Too Faced Sweet Peach is amazing.
Lastly if if you don’t mind ordering online and you do t want to travel with it the Morphie 35O has everything you would ever need.

@izza2 So sorry you're still pukey. Bleh.
Thanks for all the make up suggestions everyone.
@Austenista It's definitely harder to be glam with kids. I've started keeping my make-up in the kitchen so I can put it on in the morning while keeping an eye on the kids. I plan to get a little mirror for the fridge or inside the cabinet.
@catlady1215 I’m a big fan of urban decay’s naked basics. It’s great for an every day look.
@Llamamama good idea. I have time to typically shower and get ready before the boy wakes up. I need to just make a point to go ahead and go the extra mile. Lately it’s just shower and get dressed and leave the rest to nature. I feel like if nothing else I could put on a face and do my hair for the weekends. That might be a good new year resolution - keep up with skin care, dental care, self care, and take time to be beautiful too. I like this idea.
@krashke@catlady1215 if travel isn’t a priority it honestly doesn’t get better than Jacklyn Hill’s Morphe pallette. For travel I like the colourpop or juvias palettes.
@austenista I think having a set routine and treating make-up like a uniform helps too. There's no time for experimenting, just do the same 4 products every morning (unless it's a special occasion or something.)
@doxiemoxie212 I haven’t gotten the Jaclyn Hill palette because I didn’t want to fight people for it. I wonder if it will be around for awhile or if it’s limited edition because I love the 35O so I should just get it.
I do have Champagne Pop and a duo with Prosecco Pop and they are amazing highlighters!
I haven't tried anything from Colour Pop but with their new line at Sephora I want to give it a try. I just hate having to order makeup like that online without having tried it. At least with Sephora if you don’t like something you can just return it in the store easily.

@krashke JH Morphe is so so so good, get it!! It just has absolutely everything and the quality is insane. Also if you haven’t tried their brushes, get that isht. Amazing for the price. The Sephora colourpop stuff I’ve heard isn’t as good quality as what’s on their reg site. I have not verified myself tho. I have the palette that is a dupe of the Natasha denona sunset palette - so small and easy to travel with!
Has anyone found any good deals on maternity tops right now? I washed up my maternity clothes and am finding that I have mostly t shirts and not a lot long sleeved..
@izza2 did they give you a hydration IV? Hope you are feeling better.
To all all ladies be careful with any makeup testers in store - I just saw an expose and there was nasty stuff in there - e. coli, staph and other nasty bacteria. Plus almost all makeup and beauty companies allow returns on open products.
Just random but I had an insatiable craving for honey walnut shrimp and am going to town on some. I’ve been getting crazy shrimp cravings. Edited to remove pic as it might be a trigger for someone with MS.
@catlady1215 the Naked Basics palettes are all matte and really simple. If you're looking for a little bit more any of the Tarte ones are beautiful. They even have an all matte one. Kat Von D's shade and light palette for eyes goes on beautifully.
@izza2 hope you get some relief soon and are feeling better
@doxiemoxie212 Thanks. I think that might work well for me for daily use.
@lisa2589 Gap and Old Navy are my go-tos for basics like long sleeved mat. tees. They usually always have an additional % off promo going. Right now with the promos the long sleeved tees at both sites end up at $15. It's not bad but you could hold out for a better promo.
Question for those who are into the big eye shadow palettes like Naked. I know the quality is good but do you end up using all the colors? It feels like more than I need. Is it just fun to have to play with different looks? When I do shadow I use 3 colors max to so a smoky eye thing. I've always just used free Clinique samples in brownish shades.

Mascara:
My fav is the Tarte lights camera lashes mascara. I have also hear good things about the L’Oréal lash paradise, it’s on my list for when my current mascara runs out.
Cheeks:
Fav from Sephora is the Benefit Cheekathon palette but idk if they make it anymore because I couldn’t find a link. I also love Tarte blushes.
From the drug store these Wet n’ Wild ones are cheap, pigmented and last long https://www.target.com/p/wet-n-wild-174-blush-light-pastel-21oz/-/A-49113135
I also like the Physicians Formula butter bronzer but it only really shows up in the winter when I’m a little fairer and I have it in the darker shade
https://www.target.com/p/physicians-formula-bronzer-bronze-0-38oz/-/A-49113360
lips:
Kay Von D liquid lipsticks are good but they are drying. I love the Marc Jacobs lipsticks and they last a long time.
From the drugstore my go to are the Maybelline color sensational mattes or nyx lip lingerie
