Convo with DH as I’m making lunch: DH - “I thought you weren’t supposed to eat Tuna” Me - “I’m eating this damn sandwich” DH - “Okay” and walks away
He has learned quickly esp after DD.
Otherwise we are just moving things around, cleaning, and throwing stuff out to get ready to paint this week before our new furniture is delivered Saturday. This also means switching DD to “her” room which is nerve wracking.
Me: 28 | Husband: 39 Married March 2016 DD: born 7.22.16 DS EDD: 6.23.18
AFM ran errands today. DS was a wild child in Walgreens. So I'm currently waiting patiently for nap time (yes. 5 and still a napper). So I can veg on the couch, watch some shows and work on Christmas stuff.

We are taking DS to see Santa today. Fingers crossed that it's a fun, and not terrifying, experience. Last year he was a newborn so he was easy. This year, as a spirited 14 month old, I could see it going either way. Then we are braving the mall (I try to avoid on the weekends, especially in December) to finish up Christmas shopping.
I crocheted a mini stocking, and now I feel like I'm the most awesome crocheter in the world and want to make full size stockings for the rest of us, and the dogs. Thankfully I have a huge bin of yarn, and every weekend off until Christmas!
@Miz_Liz - That was amazing to read! I knew about the transplants being done in Sweden, and about the baby that was born in 2014, but I'm so happy to see it's happening in the US as well!
@izza2 it is so incredible! As for your new stocking making skills, if you get really good at it you could sell them on Etsy! I paid a pretty penny for some on there that were handmade (and worth every bit of it).
@Miz_Liz - Good thinking! I have a bunch of stuff that the lady who lived here left (potholders in particular, but also some star-things?) and kind of enjoyed making the mini-stocking. I probably won't be able to make any extras this year, but I'd totally be in to making some to sell for next year! I'm gonna pilfer online and see what I can find that I might enjoy making next. Definitely not sure I'd be in to making blankets just yet, but, we'll see! Thanks for the idea!
@izza2 a lot pf hospitals take donations of handmade baby hats too for the maternity ward. *TW Loss mentioned* They also take extra small ones for the little ones born before viability and stillborns. *end TW*
@Miz_Liz - Even better idea! I was thinking about trying to crochet a hat for when LO is born, and I was thinking about all the crocheted hats that I saw in the stock room at my clinical on Wednesday, and how nice it would be to crochet a bunch and donate them to the hospitals in my area.
@sunshineandwhiskey bahaha smart man. My DH quickly learned too after DD what was worth the comment and what wasn’t hope the transition goes well for you!
AFM we are cleaning out our nursery/storage room. It’s on the second floor of our house, and our bedroom is on the main floor.. so baby will be sleeping in our room likely for a few months at first. But DH decided today that “we will probably want to start in the nursery soon” so we should clean it out. He doesn’t really talk about this pregnancy/baby much, so the fact that he was thinking about the nursery really made me heart happy
@sunshineandwhiskey@BurlapandLace We transitioned DD (2.5) to her new room about a month ago and it went fairly well. I just made a big deal about this being a big girl room, and that the old room was a baby room and we left all the baby stuff behind now that she’s a big girl. She seemed to understand that concept. I just didn’t want to wait til the end and then make it like okay you have to move because the baby’s taking over, ya know? Good luck!
I am the high school quiz bowl coach. We had a tournament today and stopped at A&W for lunch, and I got to indulge in cheese fries. Now that I'm home, I'm watching the Littles put the tree up.
Went to a holiday bizarre at a local park. There were lots of horses so DD was in absolute heaven. Headed to Cracker Barrel in a little while for dinner.
@courtyowl427 I'm firmly in maternity clothes at 11 weeks. This is my fifth pregnancy and apparently my stomach muscles know exactly the position to assume. Thanks hormones.
@izza2 So impressed by your skills! Have you crocheted before?
Afm...we decided to do a Christmas tree delivery service instead of going to our normal tree place. They were supposed to deliver between 2 and 5. It is now 6:30. I’m so annoyed.
@LaceyBee522 I would be pissed!! How does that work, do you just specify the size you want? A farm near me was offering something like this where you said size and then they sent pictures of a few and you picked one. I am way too fussy though, they would have to send me 50 pictures of each tree lol.
So, the smoke bombs were mostly a fail, but it was still fun. We drove out to Long Island, which is like a two hour drive in traffic. We went to Lido Beach, which I thought I'd never been to because I've been to Long Island like three times, but it turns out that's where DH's cousins got married (literally the worst wedding I've ever been to, but that's a story for another day). We drove up and down the area looking for a secluded spot to set off the smoke bombs, but we couldn't really find one. There were people fishing, etc., or people with dogs. Finally we just decided to do it anyway. So we did a rehearsal, everyone knew their priorities, and then we did it for real. One of our friends opened the envelope, quickly lit the two "right" colored smoke bombs and then they told us to open our eyes. The smoke was supposed to last 60-90 seconds, but it only lasted maybe 10 seconds? So it was sort photo fail - I think we got like 3 photos with the smoke in the, and our eyes were closed still lol.
BUT we're so so so excited to be having a girl. We both admitted afterward to secretly hoping it would be a girl since there are so few in the family. Even without the smoke the photos are really pretty because the lighting was great. So I'm happy on that front - admittedly I haven't checked if my eyes are fully open in any (I have mad blinking skills), but still. I'm happy.
@doxiemoxie212 Congrats! The smoke bomb in the background looks so cute!
@Miz_Liz Yes, we just pick out the size and they are all frasier firs. The best part is they put it in the stand and deal with all that ish. It finally came at 8:30. Le sigh. It seems like a great tree though. Super fresh and pretty. I will put off decorating until tomorrow though...too sleepy!
I'm such a dodo, and have been saying congrats on the it's a boy/girl thread where we don't want it getting clogged. I used to know how to follow directions...
@doxiemoxie212 your picture looks like the scenery was beautiful! Very cute!
AFM, I had to pull out the damn belly band at 10+4w. Seriously!? With DS I rocked pre preg clothes until like 17 weeks. This blump tho...
I’m 14 weeks and have been in maternity jeans for a month already. With DD I was able to hold off until 24 weeks before buying maternity jeans (I wore high waisted leggings, but even those don’t do the trick this time around.)
@bkrahn We’re so excited. DH said last night before bed, “I mean, karmically, we both were meant to have a daughter. You needed to have a daughter so your daughter can be as mean to you as you were to your mom as a teenager, and I needed one since I had so many brothers and male friends growing up I had no idea what girls go through.” Lol.
@mama2littlehoot good luck potty training! We did that last weekend with DS (26 months) and while he’s out of diapers and using the potty, we have had accidents most days (1-2). It is such a stressful process!
Took a trip to motherhood maternity today. I think I've decided I'm going to be content in leggings till may. I bought a pair of jeans... to have on hand. But ugh. I have such hips and ass.. then short legs. Even petites are to long. Nothing fit how I liked.

@catlady1215 all the mat stuff I ordered on Black Friday arrived and I’m on the opposite end for length but I also just want to live in leggings. And who cares? I’ll be wearing this long giant coat until it’s maxi dress season anyway lol lol
@doxiemoxie212 can you give me alittle leg length please?? Lol that'll solve both our situations. believe me I reeeeaaally love my leggings. And since I really only go in to work like 4-5 times a year.. max? I can get by. Maybe I just need to find good thick lined ones for the cold. My LLR ones are cutting into my bump alittle so I gotta find new ones anyway.
