@djh513 definitely ask your midwife but I think you only have to worry if it gets up to 101. In that case I would take Tylenol to bring it down.
Okay can all my Facebook friends please just refrain from posting photos of food for the next 4-6 weeks?? I know you're proud of your stuffed peppers but the sight of them seriously just almost made me puke on my son's head as I nurse him to sleep.
@zande2016 Thanks for the response! Was hoping I would be okay through the night.
Also, I 100% feel ya on the food pictures. I did BLW with my son and follow a few Instas/FB pages that I think I’m going to have to unfollow for a while. Grossssss.

@julianneb0 my son said few recognizeable words and babbles a whole lot when he was one and now he talks up a storm. I echo what others have said and bring it up with your pediatrician if you have concerns.
Thank you ladies!! At first I thought it was ridiculous that she brought it up but then I was like hm here’s a daycare provider of like 20 years! So then i got nervous. I’m truthfully a little annoyed that she would make that comment when she’s not our pedi. Sometimes I feel like because we’re first time parents that she instructs us in certain ways
@blair_krank she does wave! Only when she wants to haha she’s always been a little stubborn. How did you teach your DD sign language?
@julianneb0 I'm actually super surprised they would even say that. My friend specializes in speech/language development in littles, and she said our son was doing fantastic at that age. (He only said mama and dada at 1 year old too)
@djh513 that actually happened to me a couple weeks ago. I assumed it wasn’t pregnancy related because others around me had been sick. I just took Tylenol to help with the fever
@julianneb0, we used the baby signing time videos. They were on YouTube at the time and may still be, but we have the DVDs now. She loved them! We’d watch the videos together and then I tried to use the signs as they were relevant throughout day. Once she had most of the signs from one video we’d start on the next and there are 4 to get through. After that we’d just look things up as needed.
Some may say I’m full of it, but I really believed that saved us from many tantrums while her language was developing.
@blair_krank you're so not full of it! Signing helps a ton- DS is 2 and still not very verbal, but he picks up on signs a lot faster. Also, idk if it's related or not but the words he learned to sign were some of the first words he learned to say clearly.
now I'm reeeeeaaallly confused about ticker change vs. due date check ins. The last I heard we were going for just ticker change days, but now all I see is due date check ins...?

Our first daycare tried doing this. Wouldn’t give my son his pacifier, just under minding things, I was also 22 so I felt belittled for my age by her. I switched daycares due to her belittling.
Our didn’t really start talking until after his first birthday. Two months after he turned one he only said dada and TT for my aunt, sometimes we’d get momma but rarely- I think your daughter is fine.
We have two sleeping beauties in heaven. Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016. Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015. They will be forever missed.
@AnnaReid81 me too! I’m still trying to figure out why she would go there... I feel it’s a very sensitive subject in the first place. @blair_krank that’s awesome thank you! Now to get her to sit still for a video!
@smashjam Can we add GTKY to the threads it's okay to start in option one? I love posting random GTKY stuff! Or would that be too random?
@lindsayleigh1989 I want to get the scan, we did last time, but I don't know what the norm is out here. Hope to set up an appointment with the prospective midwife tomorrow when I hear back from the appointment coordinator, and when I meet with her I'm planning to ask.
@julianneb0 I'd talk to your ped more than your daycare provider. At that point that sounds normal. I remember at my kiddo's 1 year appt they wanted to see her saying about 5 words as an indicator of normal development by one, which it sounds like your kiddo is doing. As for what you can do, I'd just say pay attention to how you talk to your kid. How often do you talk to them/read with them/engage them in verbal discourse that isn't baby talk but more adult? I got into the habit of explaining EVERYTHING to my kid from an early age, and she's very lingual, but also kids are all different. I don't think you're doing anything wrong! Talk to your ped, but sounds about right to me. I don't know many kids who have more than a handful of words by one. Sorry your daycare provider made you worry. P.S. Sign language is awesome! I just learned the signs myself and used them as I said the words to her throughout the day, and would hold her hands and help her move them while I said the word, then give her what correlated (milk, cracker, etc.) or withheld it until she said please or thank you.
@zande2016 OH, HOW I FEEL YOU!! Even reading descriptions of food makes me sick right now. I hate it.
@AnnaReid81 me too! I’m still trying to figure out why she would go there... I feel it’s a very sensitive subject in the first place. @blair_krank that’s awesome thank you! Now to get her to sit still for a video!
We hardly ever got through a whole video at once. Just a song at a time then picked up where we left off next time.

Yes, same! Eat & dog were right behind mama and dada
@lucky13mama that's amazing news! I think it's so great that they allow paternity leave at all! That is so lucky.
I am stressed because my job does not offer paid maternity leave and my husband doesn't know what where he will even be working in July. There's a lot up in the air, we're just holding onto the "everything will work out" mentality.
The Man came home and was like "You look so nice today!" And I was like, "Yeah, I'm not throwing up and I had to leave the house today so I actually got dressed. Thanks."
@bdesterhouse okay so the pacifier thing is also a little bit of an issue... I had a pacifier until I was nearly 6, which I know might seem weird to others but I swear I’m normal! But they do limit her pacifier use while she’s there and I don’t quite understand why...they said they give it to her for naps which is good, but one time I saw them refuse to give another kid his paci when he was really upset and that is not something I want to happen to mine. It’s awkward when they don’t consult with you first before going about certain things. Ugh maybe I’m too sensitive as a Mom but I really can’t help it! @christycalifornia thank you for those tips! I love the sign language idea and how you taught your little one
@julianneb0 Babies signing are so cute! It's funny, my kid is 3.5, and if I ask her "what do you say?" and the answer is "please", sometimes she'll say it verbally and make the sign out of habit. Same with "finished" and "milk". No others, though. If I ask her directly how to sign those words she gets confused and can't tell me, but she still has the muscle memory when she just says it and doesn't think about it.
I'm trying to wait until we come back from winter break to tell my team at work. One of my very close friends that knows came in to my room while I was at my round table working in a small group and said "You arent going to make it to winter break"
@acunamatada whoa hold up now! i am most definitelh team french fries... in my mouth! i would never waste such a precious commodity to be rubbed on something already wracked with stretch marks. Let's not be crazy now also i love whenever I see you have tagged me. it is always wonderful haha
I am pretty amazed how people with kids have time to troll! I can barely get my ish done in a day lol
This. Sigh.
Well I know my kids are glued to the tv while playing games on their tablets. They each have their own porta potty to defecate in and they are munching on week old French fires and drinking gallons of red food dye. That’s how I got time!
But really, it’s called bed time. They’re sleeping, my husband is watching a show I have no interest in. We got a bat signal and people decided to have a little fun. Beats whatever boring game I’m going to play on my phone yo. We all deserve to have a little fun. Wish you all healthy pregnancies and happy babies
the current poll results seriously have my anxiety so high im on the verge of a panic attack. i cannot handle boards where there is zero organization and its a freaking free for all.... it's why I stay on the bump and not other boards.. i honestly might cry. there is zero community on WTE because no one can keep track of anything
