@catlady1215 that's currently in debate. I actually sort of want to do it during "golden hour" in the early morning sort of around sunrise because I think the beach will be 100% empty, and the lighting will be best. DH doesn't want to get up that early, so he wants to try to do "golden hour" around sunset, but I think that's riskier because that's like 3pm. SOOOO no matter what, we'll know before 4pm ET. And even if I don't have good pics, I'll tell you guys the results
@catlady1215 so glad things went well. I did the same weeping in the car.
Had my first US today at 11w6d. I had gotten myself so worked up from being terrified something could be wrong, that my blood pressure was 144/106 and my pulse was 126. They took it 3 times. Finally after the US it started to come down, but still not in normal, usually rock bottom low as of late.
But everything looked perfect. NT measurements normal, nasal and jaw bones looked good. Saw the little heart beating. HR of 164.
@doxiemoxie212 FX for no arrests. Let us know though if we need to find someone to pull strings or organize bail
Survived the doc. appt. and US with both kids. It was a bit nuts. Will be hiring a sitter next time. Measuring 10 + 2 which is a few days ahead of what I thought so I'm happy. Heartbeat looked good. US was really blurry at first but then I did clearly see a baby gummy bear shape.
@amys614 every time I've gone to the doctors this pregnancy my blood pressure has been high because I get myself worked up! I check it at home and it's normal and towards the end of the appointment it lowers but it's frustrating.
Had my first OB appointment (10+5). Very straightforward - said the 8 week ultrasound looked good, found HB with the doppler. BUT I was pleasantly surprised to be offered NIPT (Progenity test) I asked her about it but without high hopes (I'm only 31, low risk and it wasn't brought up with my DS 20 months ago). I didn't know much at all about the test before reading here, so thank you ladies for posting your experiences. I'm happy to have learned from you
She said their practice now recommends it to all patients because of the higher accuracy rate and quicker results than the NT scan/blood work. She said it may or may not be covered by insurance but I'll just have to call the lab (if denied) and say I want the "rapid discount". I remember someone posting about that in another thread...now I'm going to go re-read the posts about Progenity specifically.
They did the blood draw today and she said the results should be back in about a week. I'm so excited to find out the sex - I was prepared to wait until February. On the way home, DH and I talked about keeping the results and doing some kind of reveal with our family when we go home for Christmas. I love the idea and I know my mom would be so happy to be part of it...now I just have to see if I can keep the results for that long without peeking.
After a long 4 week wait we went in today for "OB setup" basically 30 min meeting with the doc to go over all our questions and get instructions. Also had lots of blood drawn so I am waiting too @katelynrae86 ! Next US scheduled for 4 weeks from today at 16wks. Doc said only 2 more US after that... one at 28 and 33wks. I'm sure it will feel like an eternity between those visits.
I got the green light to keep horseback riding as long as I feel good doing it into my 2tri. I have been riding for 25 years so was really hoping to be able to continue as long as I can. I know I'm taking a risk sharing this, because it is a risky sport and people like to judge but it has always been a huge benefit to my mental and physical health. I am "grounded" so no jumping fences. I can live with that.
We also got a tote with a ton of samples and vitamins and other freebies during our visit which was nice!
Had my OB appointment and sonogram on Monday at 11 weeks. All is good and baby is growing! Now just waiting on NIPT test results. I thought It was funny that my doctor wanted to go ahead and schedule the C-section. This is my only option for delivery due to some previous female surgeries. A couple hours later the hospital called to confirm date, time of delivery and what time to arrive! Haha I’m still in disbelief about this whole pregnancy!!
Just got back from my 12-week appointment. Heartbeat sounded great, and my OB and I were both shocked at how fast she found it! Had barely touched my skin with that Doppler and boom, there it was. The poor medical student who tried afterwards had a little less luck, haha.
My mom is very excited because now she officially has permission to tell her coworkers/friends. She could barely get off the phone with me fast enough.

Had the NT scan today and the doctor said everything looked great. The baby had hiccups during the scan which was freaking adorable. Now it's the waiting game for Progenity test results.
First Son - born 2013
Second Son - born 2014 - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV). First open heart surgery at 5 days old. He's had 3 open heart surgeries and several other procedures and is currently doing amazing. Third Son - due June 9, 2018
Had my regular first OB appt today. Only question I had for him was about the pressure I feel way up by my cervix and rectum. He did the pap, which I have no idea why I was so nervous for it (it's been a while) but he said it's up nice and high and closed tight and everything looks great. Found HB at 154. Really liked him. He was very calm and relaxing to me. Hopefully I like the other 3 in the practice as much.
