  • Like it! I don’t have any initial impressions except that it’s a nice name.

  • Linear is what popped in my head first. I'm not a fan.

  • I like it!
  • This is my name! :) It is beautiful! I have never met anyone else with it. Also it is the Swedish national flower. Very popular in Sweden, and Norway.

I’ve read that! And i agree you have a beautiful name. :) just curious, you pronounce it li-NAY-uh, correct? That’s the only way I’ve heard it but from some of these responses I’m wondering if people say it differently.

Awe thank you! Yes, you are correct. Many people get it wrong, but once they hear it, it is no longer a problem. People have always commented, what a beautiful name. I was named after my Swedish Aunt, so you can be sure that is the correct pronounciation. I do get quite a bit of people that will say Lynn-Ay, or Linn-E-Uh but   It’s not a big deal.

  • I thought it sounded made up...but I know nothing about Sweden so maybe that’s why. The sounds are pretty
  • I like it, I know a Swedish lady named Linnea too.

  • Back a few years ago, there was a contestant on The Biggest Loser named Linnea and I always thought it was so pretty. Thumbs up!

It's Linea Nigra.  Emphasis on the first syllable (LIN-e-uh).

Different pronunciation than the name Linnea.  Linnea is Li-NAY-uh.

I get that, but the first thing that comes to mind when I see it written out is the linea nigra, and the OP asked for initial impressions.
