@wishiwaspreggo i meant to tell you yesterday that your dream of an edible landscape is also MY dream. I just bought my house this year and I planted a garden for the first time this year and next year I'm going to hire someone to come out and tell me all the edible things I can plant throughout my yard. We have raised all manner of animals and I do so for a similar reason to you- I want to make sure since I am not working outside the home that if something happens in our family that means a hardship, or god forbid we can't trust any food sold at a market for one reason or another, we can always eat good, safe food.

A woman I used to work with at my old school posted yet another horribly ignorant political video to Facebook, so I responded with an article that kind of kills every point being made in the video she posted. And I know for a fact she won't be able to respond with anything coherent, so that feels pretty good. Petty? Yeah. But do I have free time tonight? Yes.

omg you guys. DH's Xbox was supposed to be delivered today (today is the release day for the new console). Fedex's tracking page says it was delivered to our front door but IT'S NOT HERE. I told him over the phone that it's not here and he's freaking out. I submitted a claim with Fedex but please think about me tonight...DH is going to be in the shittiest mood ever. Ughhhhh. The lady at Fedex asked if I checked in the bushes around my house. Why would they put a huge package in the bushes? lol. Tonight is going to be terrible...Let's cross our fingers he can find it at a neighbor's house or something.

@offtoneverland oh no. That has happened to me. The thing is my fedex person delivered a tv to a neighbor that was Home because it was obviously a tv being delivered. Do you have nice neighbors?

@blackhottamales @Augusta108 We do have very nice neighbors! I checked with a few of them and no one has it. DH is so scared that someone stole it since it's the Xbox release day so it's obviously being shipped all over the country right now. The tracking website says it was delivered at 5pm and I got home at 6pm...it was dark and pouring rain, so I'm just not sure that someone could have feasibly stolen it within that time, unless they were following around the Fedex truck! I'm sure it's possible, but we're just really hoping it got misdelivered. DH is out walking around right now trying to see if he can find it at another address. It seems kind of petty, but he's been waiting on this new Xbox for over a year now! So he's so so upset.
@blackhottamales That's terrible about your TV! I'm guessing it was resolved in the end?

@offtoneverland Aww...hugs friend. Do you think they could call the fed ex driver who delivered it? You might have to call the local number. That sucks so so bad. I hope you guys find it soon...My DH would feel the same as yours. Your DH isn't walking around in the rain is he? Poor guy...

@offtoneverland ohhh that sucks so much!! I once had that issue with Canada Post - they told me sometimes they mark the item delivered while it's still on the truck.  FX that is the case for you!!!  Also any chance they delivered it to a FedEx depot?

@offtoneverland oh no, I hope that was a mistake! I ordered a large vase online a few months ago and got notification from FedEx that it was delivered when it wasn’t. I contacted the company and they started to look into it, then the package showed up a few days later. Hopefully it was just a mistake and it’s still on the truck!

@wishiwaspreggo yay for home improvements! DH and I are trying to get more stuff done around our house as well. The previous owners put up a door-knocker with their last name engraved in it, so when we moved in we just covered it with painters tape. It’s been four years and we have yet to get a new door-knocker, and I can’t convince DH to just get a whole new door! I hope you have some luck getting sidewalks for your neighborhood!

@SmashJam we started a garden this year too! Well, I should probably say DH started it because I have no green thumb whatsoever. We had a decent amount of blueberries, tomatoes, strawberries and jalapeños. We managed to grow one pumpkin as well! I wish we had space for chickens!

Thanks everyone! @mrs_drc_rn @canucklehead123 That's what we're hoping! We've never had a package stolen before so it seems so unlikely. Here's hoping it's still on the truck and we get it tomorrow!
@josie12367 Yes, he was walking around in the rain trying to find it, then drove the whole street to see. Good idea about calling the local center. I can't find a phone number anywhere though. The place it shipped from in Maryland isn't on the Fedex website. Weird! DH is going to be walking around like this until we find it...wish me luck!

You might be able to call the main FedEx, and then have them forward you on.

@offtoneverland oh that’s so bad! Surely they wouldn’t have left an Xbox on your front door with no one home though? Like I’m sure you’d have to sign for it, so fingers crossed they’ve left it with someone or are gonna re-deliver it.

A friend ordered the new Xbox which was delivered yesterday so he was all excited but opened it to find a load of Capri suns in there instead of his Xbox...

@offtoneverland eek! Hopefully it was delivered to a neighbor or will be redelivered today! Do you have a back door that maybe they placed it there?  UPS likes to switch it up on us, 1/2 the time they'll deliver to the front door, the other 1/2 it'll be on the back porch.  Have strength and FX you survive YH during this "trying time" (I totally get it though, MH is a gamer geek and he'd be unbearable in this situation).

@smashjam yeah I almost wet myself when I read it! I’m sure it’s all fine because it’s Amazon’s mistake but I can just imagine some old lady waiting for her Capri Sun and finding a brand new Xbox haha!

I really hope it turns up today, @offtoneverland...Meanwhile, I have the opposite problem. My mail carrier refused to leave a package of socks here yesterday because we weren’t home, so I have to go to the post office today to get them! (I live in an apartment complex with package lockers galore!) So much for the convenience of online shopping...

@craftyg That's hilarious. I'm sure your friend didn't find it quite so funny, though. 

Speaking of packages. Luckily it's a work from home day because I need to sign for a package that's getting delivered. Which means I'm stuck here till it arrives. It never fails that as soon as I leave to run an errand, that's when UPS/FedEx will show up.

@offtoneverland FX it turns up. I have a bad relationship with Fed Ex. One of their delivery people marked my wedding dress as delivered when lo and behold, it wasn't. And when I asked them to redeliver, they wanted me to come out to the middle of nowhere to get it. Finally, MH called and got a sympathetic guy on the phone and told him our wedding was in a week (which it was), and managed to get o delivered the next day. 

DH and I are watching my brother's dog for a week. So now I have two huge dogs in my house. I'm sure my dog is super excited to have his cousin over. I'm sure the cat is miserable. 

ETA for a teacher brag: I earned $15 to spend immediately on my latest Scholastic book order, so I picked 15 assorted $1 holiday/winter books. Now I only need 17 more so I can give one to each kid for the holidays (and I'll probably have at least another $10 on my next order). I didn't even have to touch my bonus points!

@offtoneverland Ugh your story is breaking my heart. I live in an urban area so the whole package delivery situation is precarious to begin with. I feel your pain...and his.

@offtoneverland - The exact same thing happened to me last night but with UPS and DS's big Christmas present (the Thomas & Friends Super Station). DW got a phone call from UPS saying they tried to deliver it at noon but no one was home so they'd keep it at the holding station. Then she got a notification that it would be delivered around 8:00 pm. We were hanging out in the living room (right by the front entrance to the house) and we kept our eye out for the truck. Time passed and at 9:00 she checked her phone to see what was going on. Then it said it was delivered to our front door at 6:45 pm. We went outside to look for it - nowhere to be seen. I walked around the whole house with a flashlight.

1) We were there the whole time and no one knocked. 2) We didn't even see anyone approach our porch which we'd have seen through the window. 3) No sign of a truck or anything! 4) If someone stole it we'd have seen that person too because we were literally sitting there the whole time.

We called MIL to see if she had it and now she's panicking too because we were all excited about getting it and now we don't know what happened I really hope DW is able to figure it out with UPS. It sucks.

Your DH must be pissed - I can buy another train set if I have to but replacing a stolen X-Box (especially with its high demand for the holiday season) is not quite as feasible. Keep us posted on if you figured it out! Hopefully "delivered to front porch" is code for "we're hanging on to it until you call us."

I love Scholastic. I've gotten so many good books, and my class this year has been going hard on the book ordering.

@lurvleybunchococonuts We looked around the whole house (front and back porch) and didn't find the package anywhere. We were hoping it'd be delivered today (maybe the delivery guy marked it as delivered and planned to do it today?) but no luck. Who knows what happened to it!
@wishiwaspreggo Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear you have a missing order too. It's so hard trying to make all the calls and track it down. Was it by chance delivered today? I hope so! DH had ordered the special edition Xbox too that was only available for a limited time, so it really sucks that now he won't get that one.
@Augusta108 That's pretty lame that you have to drive all the way to the post office just to get a pair of socks!  It's funny that they require signature for socks but not for an Xbox. I don't think there's any way on the website to request signature delivery, so I have no idea who decides what should require a signature.

AFM, I need to remember NEVER to go to a corn maze again.  We have all been miserable since we went Saturday.  I am freaking out waiting for someone to have an asthma attack.  Then last night, the wood stove got screwy and filled the house with smoke, had the CO detector going off.

My new doctor is awesome. I start Provera followed by 50mg Clomid tomorrow. She pretty much said that based on my history of long/potentially anovulary cycles, my ovaries just need a kick in the ass. So we'll give this a try and go from there.

@catlady2015 No.  I thought for sure it would be delivered today but no luck! We submitted a claim with Best Buy and they'll refund us in 8 days if they haven't found it.
