So I started this selfishly because I'm not feeling like dailies this week (maybe later in the week).  This mainly has to do with not having an single clue as to what the H my body is doing.  So cheers!  What was the best part of everyone's weekends?

I just got a cavity filled. At least it is over. 

DH took my car to get detailed, which is awesome.

 Not much to mention here...I'm in a horribly cranky mood though. *TW kids* I generally watch my friends son on Monday afternoons when she works but she is sick today. Gotta say I'm a bit relieved I don't feel like dealing with two toddlers today. END TW* I'm mostly cranky because I didn't get anything I had planned accomplished this weekend and my in laws will be back this coming weekend so I'll be rushing to finish task all week.

Best part of my weekend was that I bought a small fiddle leaf fig tree!!!! It is so cute, and its name is Figgy.

@lurvleybunchococonuts the best part of my weekend was Fi coming in drunk at 4 30am soppy drunk telling me how much he loves me and can’t wait to have kids and get married.

@canucklehead123 - stupid question but does your tree produce real figs? How hard are they to grow? I'm working on making my yard an edible landscape because 1) I like to eat; 2) I'm kind of a hippy and 3) I'm also kind of paranoid that one day our agriculture system is going to collapse due to global warming and I feel like I should know how to grow my own food... you know, just in case.

AFM... I am home improving! My contractor needs money so he popped back on the scene (he disappears when he has ample work because we're not a big-budget project producer but we're friends so we don't really mind). We purchased a dilapidated house and the interior is completely rehabbed and beautiful. The exterior, on the other hand, has been a thorn in our side. Whoever lived there before just trashed it. We've lived there for 2 years now and I'm still trying to clean it up.

There were dying trees and lots of weird debris (I found cheap vodka bottles, a kitchen knife, roofing tiles, tarps, old dog toys, broken glass, and a bone questionable enough that I had to call the police just in case but turned out to be a cow bone). The front door is one inch too short for the frame, the wrought iron on the front porch is rusted and loose, the walkway to the house is cracked and uneven, and someone must've set up a grill on the porch because the awning's ceiling is charred.

Our contractor is installing a new front door for us (so excited it's stupid), repairing and painting the wrought iron, painting the ceiling and floor, repairing the walkway, and resurfacing a little patio in the back yard. After that all I need to do is landscape with food-producing-yet-ornamental plants and I'll make my dreams come true.

I'm also on a crusade to get sidewalks in my neighborhood. The former president told me not to do it at our last association meeting but... sorry, honey. We've got a beautiful new park being constructed just down the street and the neighborhood is a-changing. We need safe walkways. I already watch people walking their dogs and pushing strollers down my street all evening and assholes zoom down our road at 50+ MPH and I do not want to wait until a dog or person gets crushed by a car before we do something about it.

@wishiwaspreggo they apparently do - but my mum has had a big one in her living room for a few years and I've never seen it produce fruit.

@canucklehead123 Omg I love that you name your plants too! I had an air plant I named Harry. I also named our vacuum robot Van. I have a little rhyme when he's working to cheer him on. "Van van the vacuum man. If you can't clean it, no one can"

@lurvleybunchococonuts I'll miss you in the dailies this week! But you gotta do what's best for you. I'd say the best thing this weekend was...H being super sweet taking care of me on CD1. CD1 hits me like a ton of bricks but he picked up Starbucks for me in the morning, ordered us new stockings because I love Christmas, and got me all set up on the couch with the heating pad and meds.

@spottedginger I went to the dentist last week for a simple filling too.. and it turned into such an ordeal. I've never had a problem with going to the dentist, but I think I will from now on. 
My jaw locked open twice, they had to freeze me three times, then they finally just gave up. On Friday I discovered an infection had started so now I'm on antibiotics. Today they called me back and told me I'll likely need a root canal. No. Just... no. I don't wanna.

This was supposed to be about something good... so... we got a lot of unpacking done this weekend. It was really great, actually.

@skilledsailor there was a guy in dh’s last command whose nice name was Roomba because he wanders around aimlessly and sucks, so we named our roomba Dan in his honor. They probably both work about the same...

@wishiwaspreggo sounds like you’ve gotten a lot done! Your neighborhood sounds similar to mine. We live in a nice family neighborhood, but also right next to a university so there’s always people on the streets walking and people just zip right past them.

@spylon I hope you don’t end up needing a root canal and your infection goes away. Yikes!

AFM, I had a pretty nice relaxing weekend.
TW kids: it was especially good because my 16month old was in a great mood all weekend and it was just a great family weekend.

@Spylon Hope you don't need that root canal. Been there too many times myself. It is horrible. 

AFM....DH went shopping today and has told me he bought me something "big" he also went to Coach and won't tell me what he got. He spoils me, but he is also mean!!

@nitnat007 Woo hoo for a big surprise! I hope it's actually something huge and exciting and you won't be let down by all the hype. 

AFM: I am seriously obsessed with Food Network but can't watch it anymore since we cut cable a few years ago. But thank goodness Netflix just released 2 cooking shows! I am SO EXCITED. One of them is Zumbo's Just Desserts and it's really good so far (and now I want to eat ALL the cake). I haven't watched the other one yet but hope that it will scratch my Food Network itch! But Food Network kind of sucks now anyways since they have people bake cakes with balogna and tuna and other gross things in it. Blechhhh.

Eta: as for me the weekend was good, TW got some work  done on the dollhouse dsd and I are building together then today happened... I just finished an 11 hour shift at work where I spent the majoroty of the time babysitting a guy installing our new protein analyzer. Except it would have been faster for me to just do it myself seeing as this guy had NEVER installed this analyzer before and then he tried to teach us how to run it... Which he also had never done before. He sat there staring at the manual for a few hours, then called someone who knew what they were doing, then tried to relay the info back to us but did it incorrectly. It was an ish show of epic proportions. I could operate the damned thing based off of our previous analyzer amd intuition better than this guy. Like... Really?! We're paying this company an absurd amount of money to essentially misread a manual. It was painful. I almost told him to sit down before he hurt himself. Oh plus dude could barely see/read the screen. I dunno if he forgot his glasses at home, but he had to look at the screen from about 4 inches away and basically was like "uhm... I dunno what that is. I dunno what that is. I think this should say xyz..." The worst part was I felt bad for the guy. Clearly he was assigned to do this job that was obviously above his head and had never been trained for. You'd think seeing as my company is spending close to 50k on this damned analyzer they'd provide decent f'ing customer service. Agh!!!! I wish he had just given us the manual and then left.

Tldr; good weekend followed by a loooong day at work

Y’all. I just had a brilliant idea that I am not sure how to execute, but it involves visuals/ graphics of our members and their status to easier keep track of each other and provide support. Kind of like the football helmet schedules or a project dashboard but with our avatar/ screen names.

@offtoneverland I am so glad I have Canadian Netflix and no baking shows! I can't watch people making cakes. It would make me want alllll the cakes.

@spottedginger most of the bmb’s have a spreadsheet with their info: due date, sex of baby, etc. it could be something like that.

@spottedginger That’s a cool idea! With so many of us doing various testing, I’d love a way to keep track of it. I know some others have a spreadsheet of some sort of their own but I’m awful at things like that.

@wishiwaspreggo & @canucklehead123. Sadly, we have a non-producing fig tree too.  . I was so excited to have figs and make fig jam, but we’ve had it several years and it’s never once produced fruit. MH thinks it gets too much shade.  Sigh.

@dukestar5 He has his turd moments for sure, but he definitely makes up for it by trying so hard to make me happy. He ordered us two red pompom ones and two green pompom ones from JoJo’s new Target line.

@spottedginger @craftyg @kindbytealikat. I can sea with the pain, etc, of the dentist. However, I have only ever had one dentist I felt like did not shame me for every cavity or whatever I needed. Dentist seem to judgey lol

I did housework in a special outfit. MH didn’t take the bate. So, I changed into something I know he likes, and he’s watching tv.

My HR lady brought in a package of mystery oreo's for us all to try.  They are... interesting.  Not terrible, but so not something I'd want to eat ever again

@lurvleybunchococonuts @nitnat007 @offtoneverland @jrm_14 well we're alive.  He got the heat working, but he's bunged up the auto setting on the fan, so the fan is always turned on.  So it will auto heat to a pre-set temp, and then the heat will turn off, but the fan will continue to blow cold basement air into the house for a while, and then the heat goes on again.... we're going to spend a fortune in heat and electricity if he doesn't get somebody in to fix it asap now... like wtf!?! I wanted to punch him last night.  Love him, but just WHYYYYYYY.

@lurvleybunchococonuts Ok, I went back and watched the gif more. My thoughts: "Those are feathers on it's head, not a hat. But that's a mallard, right? And mallards don't have feathers on their heads. Is that a hat? How is it staying on? Who would put a hat on a duck?" I'm going back to work now...
@canucklehead123 Glad the heat is working, but definitely get someone out there to fix the fan asap! That's no fun at all with the cold temps you're already having.

@canucklehead123 and @dukestar5 - Do you guys compost? Mixing a good heap of compost into the soil when you plant will help. If you try fertilizing this spring that may help the tree produce fruit. Guess it also depends on how young the tree is. If they're seedlings they won't do anything for a few years. I have a pair of persimmon seedlings planted but they won't produce for 3 or 4 more years. I have an established pear. Next up is an heirloom apple! I'm excited for that. I hope I can afford one large enough that it fruits next year so I can make apple pie filling from homegrown apples. That would be cool.

@SkilledSailor - the previous president of our association is resistant to change. She thinks the addition of sidewalks in our neighborhood would be too expensive for some of the lower-income families to afford and too difficult for aging residents to care for. There's no proof of that, though, so I'm researching it. If it would be more harmful than helpful to install sidewalks of course I will stop. But if the city would foot the cost of installation and we set up a neighborhood maintenance program to help those who are unable to care for the sidewalks I don't see what the harm could possibly be!

@offtoneverland - I love cooking shows, too! I mostly just watch quick clips now but I love watching reviews of local restaurants in Chicago. Gives us new places to try when we visit. I wish I had time to take cooking classes!

Ok, i "had" to go lurk and I just can't handle it. I keep repeating myself, but why say "I will not be joining a BMB", then when you do join a BMB you say, "i will probably lurk mostly". And now you are around all the time, you start so many threads and quite honestly you are BSC. Stop contradicting yourself.
