Sunday confession: I just had to google “are decaf fraps okay for toddlers?” Because I left my Starbucks on the floor and my daughter drank about an inch of it before I realized at least it was mostly just whip cream at that point, but I think she’s reached her sugar quota for the day. Now she’s using the straw to draw on my sweater with the whip cream. Meh.
Me and my SO went to a Christmas craft show yesterday. There was no one at the main booth to pay....so we just walked in. I felt like a rebel. We did spend alot of money at the show though.
My pregnancy brain is getting so bad, that I made a loaf of banana bread and left out all the butter. My DH found the butter in the microwave the next morning.
Daylight savings is the meanest thing anyone has ever done to parents. My two year old has been up since 5 and refused to nap. Hubby and I are exhausted! He also bashed his nose into the floor during a tantrum and has a horrible bruise across it. This=I MISS WINE!
I hate putting laundry away so there are baskets of clean clothes all over. I asked H to switch clothes from the wash to the dryer (oversized top loader is a bit too deep for the belly). He decided to toss in another load and ended up washing a load of clean kids clothes. Guess that’s my nudge to put stuff away. I really hate laundry it I love my helpful husband.
DH did all the dishes while I was on the computer figuring out our Christmas budget. I don't even know what happened. This is maybe the 10th time he's done dishes since we got married 5 years ago? Maybe having sex last night impacted him?!?!
My kids aren't affected by DST...they wake up at their normal times. Me on the other hand...it's 7:30, and I'm in bed. My 7yo asked me why I am such an old person. Thanks buddy.
@kalawa I ask myself that question far too regularly for someone who’s very much not an old person my daughter wasn’t too effected by it either. She’s actually been sleeping super late this last week, so DST had her waking up a little closer to her normal time.
@kalawa DH went to bed at 7:30, too! He told me he was going to sleep and I was like “Whaaaaaaa??” But he also woke up at like 5:00/5:30 with the time change so I get it. (I, meanwhile, slept until 8:15 while he took the dog to the dog park. I felt so lazy.)
Meeeee too @mmom3 Deciding on gifts is one of my only dislikes when it comes to Christmas! I don’t want to get something they already have or are getting or will hate. Ha!
My ILs are legitimately terrible too often and this weekend reminds me why I’m perfectly fine never talking to them again. And they live on the other side of the country so they managed to do this via phone.
@ShawnnaO Ugh. I just read meatball's blog about her delivery and her two boys and had a good cry. Both mamas delivered at 25 weeks.. which is less than 2 weeks away for me. I can't imagine.
@ashleyf911 I have a friend who delivered her baby girl at 25 weeks. Reading that this morning genuinely freaked me out. My heart really goes out to both women. I’ll be 22 weeks tomorrow.
@ashleyf911 my SIL's best friend had her son at 25 weeks (he was 1.7lbs )...it's so scary. Thankfully so far he's doing well but I can't imagine what she and her husband are going through. I read through meatball's blog, too, and the remark that her son was too young to cry at delivery just gutted me.
Oh how sad on the early deliveries! I hope the babies are okay. So scary, but at least hospitals these days are pretty good at handling preterm births.
@sarahhedger7 yeah it’s amazing how well equipped they are, and the success rate of those babies coming out of it healthy.
I just cant imagine not being able to hold my newborn for a week.
When do we typically create the birth announcement thread? Third tri? Later? Or do we wait until there’s actually a birth and then make one? This isn’t my first pregnancy on The Bumo but this is my first in a BMB, so I’m not sure about timing of those?
I told DS to reset his alarm clock because the power went out the other day. He said he did but at midnight last night I heard him turn the shower on. I had to get up and go tell him it's midnight and go back to bed.
I had a patient come in a couple days ago that marked on her changes to health history “emergency C-section.” I knew she was due this past August and asked about it. She said she wasn’t feeling well and went to the dr. They checked her blood pressure and it was 200/120. They asked her what hospital she wanted to deliver at immediately and diagnosed her with preeclampsia. She was 23 weeks pregnant and delivered that day. She said her daughter was in the ICU for 3 months but they are both doing great now. I asked her a million questions after her story. So scary!
@ShawnnaO I think making an announcement board sooner rather than later is a good idea. Even if no one delivers early, it takes awhile to get threads pinned.

I agree @JBcakes08. Although I think someone who goes into labor and has their baby super early probably deserves their own thread, it still seems like something that can’t hurt to have up and ready.
Does someone who’s more of a vet to these boards want to get it started? I feel weird starting it myself?
Me thinking that it's possible that M18 babies could be arriving within a few weeks. Praying none do for a long time but
**TW** I confess I spend a ton of time googling viability at each gestational week. It seems like when I was pregnant in 2012-2013 twenty four weeks was considered the minimum but now twenty two weeks is possible. Not good, but possible.
@notthefather I do the same thing on my ticker change day. It's completely morbid and terrifying, but it's starting to get a little more reassuring each week.
Forgive me for not acknowledging the pre-term talk. Everything I just read is currently being erased from my brain!
I am all worked up about cribs. I found several that are certified eco and I don't understand why the costs are so wildly different, even from the same company.
bdaybaby18 I forgot to put the coffee in the coffeemaker the other day! DH poured himself a cup of dirty water and was soooo disappointed. pg brain is getting real.
I have been buying so many things online lately I should probably stop! But at the mention of Christmas gifts, I just thought of one more thing I need to get ordered from amazon!
Also, I just heard the worst news last night that by Feb we will be losing our Target. I do not understand this. This is the only place (besides the grocery store) that I shop. WHY!??!
Just set up an appointment for Friday to meet with a potential in-home daycare. She has great references. It is literally 4 houses down from mine. We are new to the neighborhood so I had no idea about her until I asked our next door neighbor if she knew anyone with an in-home daycare. Praying she has availability and the price isn't outrageous because there is no way to beat the convenience of it!
@fatstagnation Ugh every day I have more examples of pregnancy brain. Here’s hoping we both find some sanity soon - or that our DHs can forgive us until Baby is here!
So I had the first person congratulate me on my pregnancy that I hadn't told yesterday. Most people don't say anything because, depending on what I'm wearing, unless you know me you might just think I was a bit heavier. I still fit into and wear my regular clothing I haven't busted out any maternity wear yet (my OB congratulated me on that last week? I was like, um, thanks?) I was surprised that someone would say something but thanked him all the same. After he left my male co-worker said "man he's brave. You could be walking into the maternity ward at the hospital and I would still say, oh you're pregnant? Couldn't tell". It was just strange since I don't feel like I'm showing that much but I guess my perception is a little skewed. Maybe I can get over my weird body issues that I'm feeling this pregnancy.
You know how moms will like “shame” other moms for using an epidural? It’s totally not cool. But just as irritating is when it’s reversed and people are like “omg you didn’t use any pain meds what’s wrong with you?! Blah blah blah” I’ve never understood why people care/ask anyway but jfc.... shut up *eye roll*
edit to say - holy smokes am I ever grumpy today hahaha
@syssa-o I totally agree. And most of the time it's been saod from woman to woman. Shouldn't we all just be like "yes, you gave birth safely, and your both well! High five!"
@triplejplus1 I just read your Target news! That is insane! I thought I was going to lose my mind when ours closed last year after The Great Flood for a few months....I'm so sorry!

Some people go to some extreme lengths to be judgemental. Maybe I just have a lot going on that I can't really worry about other people's pain management. I am sorry someone made you feel poorly. That's their insecurity coming out.
Re: Randoms - 11/5
I can’t believe there have been births in the February and January BMBs already. I can’t imagine how scary that must have been.
