Hey Everyone! Not too many updates since the last one. My ultrasound on Monday showed that Baby B's blood flow to the placenta is still unchanged--so it has not gotten worse which is great. However, the blood flow to his brain is now considered abnormal because more blood is going to the brain than normal. However, this is expected to happen with a baby who has placenta insufficiency because the body reacts by pushing more blood to the brain to protect it. So still no concern to take babies because of that, and they said one day it could be abnormal and the next it could be normal. It sounds scary when they say 'abnormal' and 'brain' but it's normal and the increased blood flow is doing what it should do to protect Baby B.
I ended up needing a BPP yesterday on Baby A after he wasn't showing accelerations during his NST. The BPP went great and he scored an 8/8, so no issues--he was just sleeping during the NST.
My BP is still normal and no other symptoms of preeclampsia. The doctors are still saying preeclampsia will likely be what dictates when I deliver.
I can't remember if I mentioned this in my last update, but I now have Cholestasis, which is a condition in which the flow of bile from the liver stops or slows. They have me on medicine for this, and the main symptom is extreme itching. It's AWFUL!! No rash, just itching, especially on my feet. To top that off, I also have PUPPS on my stomach, which is a skin condition in pregnancy, more common in someone carrying multiples. So...if it's a condition more common in someone carrying multiples...I have it!
Otherwise, all is well and I am keeping these babies in as long as possible and safe!

@beary67 you are such a trooper. Glad B is hanging in there. My twins were notorious for sleeping through NST and it would take forever to get all the measurements they needed. So sorry about the cholestatis and PUPPS. Keep up the amazing work of baking those babies.

Omfg @beary67 Im so gladness the babies are doing ok, but holy shit, I’m so sorry you’ve got cholestasis! Ugh that’s so aggravating and horrible. You’re amazing - keep hanging in there! Thanks for the update!
@beary67 you are such a great mama with the optimism you maintain through all of this! I hope you don't get any new surprises. It won't be long now and you'll be holding your babes!
Just a quick update for today! We had an ultrasound and growth scan. No changes from Monday in terms of blood flow to the placenta, which is great news! Baby A is measuring 7lbs2oz (in the 87% percentile ) and Baby B is measuring 4lbs11oz! The MFM said Baby B is still growth restricted due to the placenta insufficiency, but he's measuring like a non growth restricted baby right now. The discordance between the two stayed pretty much the same at 35% (2 weeks ago it was 34%) and Baby B's abdomen is now in the 21st percentile. 2 weeks ago it was in the 6th! A lot of this could be because of the gestational diabetes, but everything is controlled with GD and we take my blood sugar 7 times a day (some days more) and I'm never above 90 for fasting or 110 one hour after a meal. I'll update if anything changes--or on Monday when we have our next ultrasound. Thanks for all the love and support. It means the world to me!

Hello! Not too much new to update on. The ultrasound/BPP yesterday (Monday) went great with no changes to the blood flow, which is great news. They are going to increase my medicine for Cholestasis, so hopefully that helps the awful itching I'm having from that. Otherwise, all is well with me and the twins! 10 days to go until the scheduled c-section!! I can't believe we've made it to 35w4d today! Hoping we make it to 37!

Still no changes with the ultrasound today so Baby B still has blood flow from the placenta!!! They both easily passed the BPP. The only change (which doesn’t matter because I was already having a C-section) is Baby A when from being head done like the entire pregnancy to transverse! No idea how he switched positions, but now both babies are transverse. One week from tomorrow until the scheduled C-section. Feeling so confident we can make it until then!
