I hate hormones. Im such a pessimistic asshole right now. I have 0 patience for my toddler and I just want to hide in a cave until these mood swings end.
Someone please make my headache go away. I've had it for almost 2 days straight. This morning it turned into a migraine. I'm thankful that it's back to a bad headache, but it still sucks.
Freakin' pregnancy brain! I feel like I am constantly forgetting things and words. Why are words so hard? And confession: I totally grabbed a hot pan out of the oven today with the hand the oven mitt WASN'T on. How am I going to survive this pregnancy?

I just had bright red spotting for the first time in this pregnancy. Freaking out. Emailed doctor, called advice nurse, and have a phone appointment in an hour and a half. I feel guilty and so stupid because I was just complaining about my body and I finally starting a work thing today that I was avoiding because I knew it was going to stress me out but I thought I was ready for it. Has anyone else had spotting after something mentally stressful? It was the only out of the norm thing I did today. I can't think of any other reason but even that didn't seem bad enough for something like this.
@vflux33 Hoping that it is just nothing. I do notice that my spotting from my SCH gets worse when I am stressed out. Please let us know. Sending thoughts!
@kalawa No one mentioned a SCH to me during my ultrasounds, but it's been over 3 weeks since I've had an ultrasound. That's useful info to know that stress can effect it, if I have one. That would make a lot of sense.
@HappyMonkey817 I'm doing that now, yeah. The advice nurse said to take it easy so I stopped everything I was doing and trying to pay attention to TV...
I just want an ultrasound, like right now. But of course, shitty timing, it's Friday night. I'm really lucky I could even get this phone appointment.
@vflux33: I had random bright red spotting a few weeks ago and also, naturally, freaked out. It stopped the same day and never happened again. I still have no idea why it happened. I couldn't pinpoint anything that I did that could contribute and do not have a SCH. I would rest and monitor. Do you have a doppler you can check heartbeats with?
@notthefather Glad to hear yours wasn't anything to worry about. No, my OB strongly advised against a home doppler --she said it would just freak me out and that with twins it would be especially confusing. Definitely gonna rest and monitor all weekend.
I did get an email back from my regular OB (still waiting on a call from the one the nurse hotline scheduled a phone appointment with). She said if the spotting continues I should be seen, if it increases a lot to go to the ER or call Monday to get an appointment for next week, and that I should avoid sex. Probably the phone OB will say the same but I'm not gonna cancel the phone appointment anyway just to be sure. Checked again just now and didn't see any more, so that's encouraging at least. If I don't see anymore or only see a little more I'm still going to want an ultrasound but may avoid the ER option and just go in for an appointment next week instead since the ER could add more stress. If I start bleeding heavily I'll go to the ER immediately, of course.
So my MS is worse at night (go figure). I took my unisom about 45 min before I started actually vomiting. Should I take another or is that initial one still in my system? Gonna play it safe and not take another tonight, but I just want to know if maybe anyone knows, for future incidents. My nausea was way worse in the beginning, all day every day. Now at almost 14 weeks I'm actually puking regularly but not feeling sick all the time, if that make sense. Not enough to get dehydrated and honestly it's better than feeling like total garbage all the time but I feel like it's strange.
@vflux33 If you can wait and see a regular doctor, skip the ER. I had the most awful ER experience EVER with another pregnancy. They basically told me it was too early and there was nothing they could do to help me if there was something going on anyway and calling in a u/s tech was not something they would do for me. Hopefully no one else’s ER is like that, but.
If you end up needing to go though, go. Don’t sit home and stew if it’s driving you batty (which I can SO understand)!
@vflux33 are you constipated at all? I’ve had bleeding with straining in past pregnancies. At your most recent ultrasound did you have a low lying placenta? That could be another cause that is relatively harmless. Fingers crossed it stops and is nothing!
@sarah_haha760 I hope your MS starts calming down. 45 minutes is time enough for the Unisom to dissolve.
@vflux33 Praying for you and the LO. There should be a triage just for pregnant women to handle these kinds of issues. Bright red bleeding is so unsettling.
@dani103 I forget words all the time now! I'll be staring at something, and just draw blank on what it's called. My husband has had to learn to play the guessing game really well I'll be asking him for something and just have to start explaining what it is - "I need those round things... yellow.... Lemons!!" If he didn't think I was weird before...
For the first time since I got pregnant, I had the worst leg pains last night. It was like growing pains from when I was a kid, with the constant aching that wouldn't go away. Could not stay still long enough to fall asleep. Finally around 11pm I couldn't take it any more and took a hot bath with lavender essential oil for relaxing and put some peppermint message oil on my legs. After almost an hour of soaking and messaging my legs, I finally was able to fall asleep around 1am Anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks, guys. I haven't had any additional bleeding so far since late afternoon yesterday. Hopefully there won't be any more. Trying not to freak out about every cramp since they could all be RLP or constipation related.
@chasingroygbiv I'm sorry you had to go through that. I totally agree about avoiding the ER whenever possible. I'm only going if I have full flow period level bleeding. Short of that I'm waiting for an appointment. We tried to schedule one yesterday but all the OBs are booked early in the week so I might have to just wait for my already scheduled next appointment a week from Monday, but they're gonna call me this Monday to get a better idea of what's available.
@heatherdubrow In my last ultrasound one of the placentas was covering my cervix, but I mentioned that in the email to my OB and she didn't seem to think that would cause bleeding at this time, if it's even still there. I am definitely constipated... I haven't been straining too hard though. Hopefully it's just something like that.

I haven't experienced it in my legs yet but last night I had it in my hands and feet. It didn't keep me up at night (yet) but I woke up feeling so achy and I still have an ache in my hand. Nothing seemed to help the aches last pregnancy so I wish I had some suggestions for you but unfortunately I don't.
@pregobeth this is one of my most annoying symptoms. I get the growing pain feeling in my hips and thighs. It is also how my contractions present themselves. TW MAYBE I got to 4cm at 35w with just these aches, and I had no idea that it was preterm labour. END TW. These ones came in waves though. The ones I get normally are constant. I just use heat on my legs and it seems to work.
I feel 600 pounds or 9 months prego. I'm sitting up in bed watching tv and having trouble catching my breath just sitting here. Im so uncomfortable already I'm scared for what's to come! I def didn't feel this way wth my first, uggghh
Anyone having Braxton Hicks already? I couldn't remember if anyone had mentioned it before. This is baby number 3, so I think that's made a difference but sheesh. I'm only 13 weeks. I've been hydrating and resting when I can (difficult since we just moved on Tuesday). I'm not concerned - they're not painful - it's just irritating to have them already!
I got in to see my OB today and get an ultrasound and I'm happy to report both babies are still moving around and have beating hearts. I also had my cervix checked. All is well and they have no idea why I was spotting, but it's over now so unless it happens again we're going back to normal.
Thanks everyone who wished me well because of my spotting Friday. I really appreciate it.
@heatherdubrow and @chasingroygbiv - good to know I'm not the only one! I got them way late in my second pregnancy and not at all with my first, so this is new for me to have them so early and have nothing to do to help them go away. @vflux33 - so glad to hear all is well! I know a lot of us were watching for an update from you!
@StephBrim24 yes, just had one yesterday. I never felt them until 35 weeks last time around so it surprised me! I'm 17+4 also. Hopefully not opening a can of worms here, but are some of you starting to feel movement? I have been for a few weeks now and DH actually felt the baby tonight! I didn't feel anything the first time around until probably 21/22 weeks! It makes a big difference not having an anterior placement this time (also sorry if there's a different thread on this?)
What symptom would make you go to the ER for dehydration? My MS has only seemed to intensify and I'm 14 weeks. I haven't kept anything down today and have been throwing up even just water or crackers. I feel so weak, still nauseous and a MAJOR headache now. I usually can down about a gallon of water a day but the last two days have been brutal for me.
@scoogy19 I'm with you...see below! @sarah_haha760 that sounds awful ... no advice, just so sorry you're going through this
Ok I'm 15.5 weeks and have been feeling movement for just over a week, but wasn't too sure if it was baby or not. Holy crap, today, it was undeniable, I didn't even believe it because it seems early, but I swear I felt tons of movement and saw movement twice. I dont remember how early I felt and saw my DD move....am I 100% crazy or is there a possibility I'm right?!
@sarah_haha760 Try ice instead of water. I can't keep any water down, haven't been able to for weeks but every time I throw up, I always suck on ice chips and those help a lot! Until I found ice, I thought I was never going to be hydrated again.
@sarah_haha760 I went in at about 8 wells and was treated for dehydration. i literally was at the point that I was so weak I couldn't get up. not didn't want to.... couldn't. my husband basically carried me to the car.
It was a cycle for me... one that I pushed too far. the worse I felt... the less I drank... the worse I felt...
the ER was a turning point for me though. I felt like a million bucks when I left, and I made a very conscious effort to not let myself get that bad again. it did give me the boost I needed though to recover.
my advice is to not get as bad as I did. if you need to go, go.
Those of you experiencing BH could consider being checked for Bacterial Vaginosis. BH are common, but they can be caused by BV, too, which I found out is what is causing mine.
@sarah_haha760 I had food poisoning while pregnant and ended up calling my MW's office to discuss if it made sense for me to go to ER for dehydration or not (I was borderline, but within an hour started retaining water so I stayed home and ended up fine). They were really helpful with some specific symptoms/guidance of what's serious enough to go to ER for.
I haven't thrown up in 2 days!!!!!! I'm trying not to get too excited about this because any time this happens it comes back with a vengeance. But I can't help but feel optimistic that I'm entering second trimester bliss. 14+2 today.
