@allowachick I haven't been able to workout at all lately. Just too tired too easily.
We were supposed to leave for our trip to Munich next Sunday, but looks like we are cancelling. I am sad about it, but know it's the right thing to do (for many reasons). Being at work next week will certainly be depressing though.
UHHHHHHH my Dr's office just called I failed my 1 hour glucose test now have to go in for a 3 hour . I know I have already mentally prepared myself to have GD but still sucks.
@Dumbgurl04 I'm sorry! Hopefully you pass the 3h test!! But 2 of my really close friends had GD and they said it's the best thing that could have happened to them for pregnancy because they were careful with their diet and didn't end up gaining tons of weight. One of my friend even lost 15lbs during her pregnancy and she felt great!
@allowachick I need to drink twice the amount of water when I work out now. Otherwise head spinning!
my random; my son takes a 45 min nap in the morning. No matter what. This morning we are starting a group class and he's been sleeping for 1,5h and I need to wake him. Why can't he do that when it's a morning I want to nap!
Thanks @danjoly I had GD in my first pregnancy as well. I didn't really gain any weight, the last couple of months. I was just hoping to maybe have a couple of months to indulge (after the nausea passes) but it looks like I'll be sticking to my already GD diet I had going.
@allowachick I have to fast, then when I go in they will take a sample and then I get the drink, which I think it's a little bit more then you get for the 1 hour but can't fully remember. Then every hour for the next 3 hours they draw blood. Going to make sure my Kindle is fully charged so I can read or watch something cause it's a long time. As well as bring a snack so the second I'm done I can eat something.
@Dumbgurl04 that stinks, I'm sorry . If it helps, my coworker is diabetic, so whenever I bake goodies for the team I put Stevia into half of the recipe, and she loves the results.
I'm in a general funk today. I love the work that I do but the politics of my office are becoming ridiculous. Workload is distributed unevenly and I'm starting to grow tired of carrying the load while others don't. WOMP WOMP.
I have my ultrasound on Friday and then we leave to go hiking in Salt Lake City all weekend. I am pumped about that.
@sparklingdiamond so sorry you have to cancel your trip. That's a bummer. @Dumbgurl04 I am preparing myself for GD, too. I was shocked to hear my OB won't require an early test this go around. They said that they'll pick up on it if they find glucose in my urine. Once I'm out of the icky stage of first tri I plan to be a lot better about my diet. I hope it goes well for you. Those three hour tests SUCK!
It's Monday so that means my kids are with my parents for the day. It's so nice!! I'm about to take a really long shower without kids either poking their heads in or screaming like they're dying, AND I'm going to do a cleansing facial mask. It's the little things, y'all

Oh snap, I am taking a personal day off and am home alone too. I am totally doing a mask too! Thank you for reminding me to pamper myself.
Joining the stayed home alone today club. I'm doing some work too. I started making apple kuchen this am and cannot wait to get to the actual cooking part!! I've had a craving for going on 3 weeks now and i'm finally going to get it!
My bff who is also pregnant booked us for prenatal massages and facials in a few weeks, I cannot wait. My last facial was 5 years ago when I was pregnant with DD.
@ladythrice@allowachick I've been eating two breakfasts for about a week now... When I get up I have peanut butter toast so that I don't get nauseous, and then around 10 or 10:30 I have a breakfast burrito.
I decided to pre-make a bunch of breakfast burritos each week so that I don't go broke buying them.
1. Dice potatoes and onions, season really well, and cook them together (I saute and then bake, but you can just bake). Or you can get the pre-made hash browns to make it easier. You can add some diced peppers of various kinds if you like.
2. Cook up a bunch of nitrate-free bacon (or sausage if you prefer) - I usually try to cook enough for 1 strip of bacon per burrito.
3. Scramble a bunch of eggs - again, plan for about 1 egg per burrito.
4. Using large tortillas, roll some of each ingredient into each tortilla being sure to tuck the ends in so that nothing falls out - I also add some shredded cheese cuz cheese is awesome.
5. Wrap each burrito in aluminium foil and refrigerate. You can also freeze them, but then I'd skip the foil and put them in freezer bags.
When I'm ready to eat one I microwave it for about 90 seconds and voila! I like mine with salsa
It really has been amazing! I am basically celebrating my birthday today (was Saturday), and weirdly enough, I have been cleaning all morning. It feels so luxurious to clean with no one around to mess things up behind me, or distract me, or to entertain. Plus I get to play Project Runway in the background, and mull over the idea of baking all day. It's so incredibly nice, and feels so accomplished and productive.
I am totally not going to survive being a mom of two .

You already did yours? I don't get mine done until week 24ish. It is so interesting to me how different pregnancies are managed throughout the country. I have a friend in Seattle who never saw the same doc twice and didn't know who would deliver her baby. I am used to meeting with the same OB the entire pregnancy and she will be there when I give birth. Just interesting.
My random, I head to Boston tomorrow and the weather is not what I planned for so I'm ducking out early to go shopping .
Preschool texted me that DS is running a slight fever and acting like he doesn't feel good. :-( I hope he isn't getting sick. Poor guy. He was running around and happy this morning!

****stuck in the damn box!!****
Eesh, yeah, bad timing on a hurricane passing by. At least it's warm out!
@angiek1 the only reason I had to go early was because I had GD in my last pregnancy so they wanted to test me early just in case. If i had passed I wouldn't have had to bother doing it again until 28 weeks. So hopefully I pass this 3 hour one (sort of doubting it) and I hopefully won't have to do it again until 28 weeks.
angiek1 I don't do mine until around then as well, but my friend (who didn't have GD last time) had to have hers done at 9ish weeks. I think it varies depending on the doctor and your heath, because we are going to the same hospital/OB office.
I'm waiting in the waiting room for my pointless "education appointment". With the nurse required before I can even be scheduled with an OB. I'm not even delivering with whoever they set me up with, this is just to get by until my doc comes back from maternity leave. I feel like I'm the last one on here to see a doc!
@riversdoctor I haven't seen a doc yet either. My last pregnancy I had an education appointment with the nurse too. I tried to get out of it saying I didn't think it was necessary but they insisted. They also tried to make me take a childbirth class but I refused flat out (didn't work with my work schedule).

@fishsticks-n-custard so frustrating!! Fortunately the nurse was super sweet. I'm excited because I'm actually down 2 pounds since my last visit in June! I'm scheduled for my first I'm appointment right about 14 weeks, (as I was guessing I would be!). They drew hcg today since I was spotting last week. Watching my phone like a hawk for the numbers to load!
I'm so nauseous. Nothing helps except not eating, and when I do that I get insane cramps.
MFFC: if my first pregnancy had been this awful and we had the IF issues we had, I don't know that this little bean would have happened. I'm really miserable, which is the part of the reason I haven't been around.
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me. You made my wedding day complete.
I finally remembered to do my stupid 24 hour urine test. I was supposed to have had it done before my appt. 9/1, but I kept forgetting to do it because I can't keep the pee in a fridge at work, so I had to do it from a Sunday morning to Monday morning and drop it off, which I finally did this morning. It's such a huge pain, especially because I have to pee like, all the time already. I only remember peeing a lot when my belly got big last time. Like, I wake up 1-4x a night every night to pee. *TMI-ish* In just a few hours of sleep (after having peed), I woke up at like 3am and peed 800cc's. I skipped 1 pee and had almost filled the 2500cc jug in less than 24 hrs. Blahhhhh.
@BarefootContessa You'll be in my neck of the woods! Enjoy the hiking, the weather just cooled down and the hiking should be fantastic, fall colors are coming in nicely!
