Hi there, it's my first group board in a while. I have a long story but I believe it all relates and it as a whole is something that bothers me, makes me insecure so I will share.
2001, at the age of 19, my mother swore to me that I was pregnant because I had missed a period completely. The test was negative but still no period-my mom was still pissed until we found out why I hadn't had a period. I had a demoid cyst on my right ovary. There was talk of a complete hysterectomy. A coworker joke that I should have my eggs frozen, I replied with I am not meant to have kids.
2006, at the age of 24, I gave birth to an oops baby boy. I had been on and off different methods of BC to regulate me but I still somehow got pregnant-wasn't in a relationship
Now present day, DH and I want to have a child. He wants 7 and I say I will be lucky to have 1 more. We have done the initial fertility testing. His motility is low and after last weeks HSG, my tube is blocked/flat. I feel broken and distressed because my doctor says IVF is the best option and we should move quickly. I'm scared that I now feel rushed because it's an external force the is rushing and DH is in his own world-I have no one else to talk to so that is why I am here.
Re: New Girl Introduction (child mentioned)
1. how was the cyst treated, did you end up getting surgery of any sort?
2. is your tube blocked on one side or both?
3. What is the % of your DH's motility?
4. Other than a blocked tube, are there any other hormone levels that are outside of standard values?
5. Did your doctor talk to you about other options like an operative hysteroscopy to remove the blockage?
6. What is your age and the age of your DH?
I would talk to your RE the next time you see him about other options that are available and then go over everything with DH and make a decision. There's no need to feel like you are being rushed into anything and if your RE is making you feel like that, i would take a step back or express your concerns that you need some more time. This process is a very sensitive one and your RE should understand that.
With that being said, as long as you continue to move forward, you are doing what you can to increase your chances. I've been reading all sorts of infertility forums for the past two months and i've seen so much success. These strong ladies really give me hope that there will be a baby as long as you keep moving forward. I would browse the forums here because these ladies really have so much information they can share. Whatever you decide, i wish you the best and you are not alone!

to answer your questions:
1. the cyst treated was removal of my right ovary
2. My tube is blocked on the left side
3. DH's motility is 41%
4. There any no other hormone levels that are outside of standard values-at least what I currently know
5. Did your doctor talk to you about other options like an operative hysteroscopy to remove the blockage? My appointment to discuss options is Wednesday
6. I am turning 36 this month and DH is 30. I believe my age is a factor for the rush-to reduce complications.
I will look through through the other posts, thank you
