Oh I do remember this now. What I was confused about at the time was the amount of women who have never been fisted, and that they all thought your vagina was destroyed by that action... Like... That's not how that works...
What @createmagic14 said. It happened after my last bmb made the move to FB. All these pre-planned-and-approved posts are just so mundane. I used to live for a nice, juicy gif war.
I hate the pre-planned/approved posts too. My BMB made the move to fb and I never looked back. I came back to give it a shot again, but I don't feel you really get to know each other that well (or it just may be me and my crazy work schedule that doesn't allow for me to keep up as often as I'd like).
I am so excited to read these drama filled threads, thank you ladies! I am missing my evening wine way too much, think I'll have to buy non alcoholic to satisfy my cravings. Just before I tested positive I bought a really nice bottle of gin and now it's just sitting there staring at me. The struggle is real.

agreed. We used to do individual introductions and it was nice to get to know the other person and have a "conversation" in that thread. For examples, I'd love to chat with the other SLPs but feel like it gets lost in the looooong intro thread. It makes it difficult to connect, IMO.
Agreed on not liking the pre-planned threads! It seems like every message just gets lost in the mix and it becomes just a few pages of people listing symptoms (for eg) instead of an actual discussion. And it's way harder to try to sort through pages and pages of messages on various subjects than it would be to just scroll through discussion titles that at least let you get an idea of what people are talking about. To me it's so obvious that a bunch of small threads are easier to follow than a couple v v long ones.
Yes who made the rules? Was it just the first person here? Can we revolt and go back to the "old way?" I'm only half joking...
There are literally no rules yet. I made a suggestion on the randoms thread, which we made a poll about about to be diplomatic, and that's as far as anything has gotten.
@cups4 There's no "rule" saying you can't start a thread. It's annoying when multiple people start multiple threads on the same topic instead of lurking or using the search bar though. Other than that I say post to your heart's content!
@ivyvines6 Definitely wanting to avoid Dear Diaries and Am I Pregnant and Is This Normal Posts! I just thought if you have a good board topic, post it. I love order and organization too, but wasn't sure after the mod change if "unsanctioned" threads were allowed lol.

Omg Is This Normal posts are the worst! I blocked most of the bad out of my brain from the bump before
I agree with @cups4 and @ivyvines6. There are no rules saying you can't start a thread on whatever you want. However, I think it's super annoying to have hundreds and hundreds of women, a lot of them FTM, posting individually for the exact same symptoms everyone else is having (or the Is This Normal posts), or posting about their first appointments, or their ultrasounds (when it comes time for that), etc. That's pretty much what the First Tri board is, and I find it extremely disorganized and I have no desire to read what are essentially the same posts over and over. I think the way we have it set up now seems overwhelming at first, but having one central place to introduce ourselves, complain about symptoms (and thus, see if stuff is normal), share ultrasounds, etc. works better. And there are a lot of specialized groups (over 35, fit moms, PGAL) to help people connect on a more personal level. But that's not to say anyone who wants to start a thread saying, "Hey! I'm a nurse, let's have a quick thread to chat with other nurses!" is going to be flamed and snarked relentlessly. There's a flow chart in TTGP which makes so much sense, and I think we could apply the same concept here. Does your post have anything to do with Symptoms, Appointments, Questions for STMs (or any of the other weekly/regular posts)? Post in those threads. Otherwise, feel free to start your own threads whenever, and if people don't like it, I'm sure the snark is still around and people will let you know. ETA grammar

Dammit.
Just before I tested positive I bought a really nice bottle of gin and now it's just sitting there staring at me. The struggle is real.
