Trying to stay positive about it but I know the numbers will continue to drop which is nerve wracking.
So I had 18 eggs yesterday. 8 were mature, 3 more ended up maturing for a total of 11 eggs ICSI 7 with MH sperm and 2 fertilized ICSI 4 with donor sperm and 3 fertilized So we have a total of 5 fertilized eggs
MH is ecstatic that he actually fertilized 2 eggs, where as I am sad we lost 5 mature eggs. I am trying to stay really positive and sensitive to him about the fact that he was able to fertilize anything, but I guess my goal of IVF was really just to get as many embryos as possible and I didn't care if it was donor or him. Obviously he would rather it be his sperm and that was the whole reason we did this IVF thing was to give his a chance, so I really need to just get my ass in gear and be more excited that there is a possibility we may have a 100% bio kid.
I won't hear back from them until Monday for my next update.

@JuneRoseRuby girl, that's fantastic news!! Of course you would want all of the eggs to be fertilized, but sometimes it just doesn't happen for some reason or another. FX so tightly that the 5 keep growing!

I've been a lurker on this site for a few months now. I've learned so much just from reading your stories, and wasn't sure if I would actually post but here goes.
I'm 35 and my husband is 39. We've been actively trying for a year now.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Second round of Clomid, Still on Metformin, completed HSG, progesterone testing, OPKs, charting
How are things going? Not great. I had finally agreed to the Clomid trials with my OB. She told me that after three trials with successful ovulation and no BFP that I would then be referred to an RE. I agreed since I already knew that I had PCOS and we were not able to predict ovulation, even with charting and OPKs. The good news, Clomid works for me. I get good progesterone numbers and ovulation. The irritation, it took MONTHS for me to convince my husband to get a sperm analysis. He didn't think it was super important as he had a child from a previous marriage. We just found out that he has very poor quality sperm with 0% normal sperm.
I guess I'm just upset that I've spent so much time blaming myself, going to appointments, getting tests, peeing on a lot of sticks, and it's taken a year to find out that there weren't any viable sperm to find my egg when I finally made one.
Any questions? No questions, just hoping to read some success stories of couples that had both female and male factor IF.
GTKY: Amazon Prime. There's a giant Amazon Warehouse in my area and it's super convenient. I get plenty of things same day. So easy and lazy.
@dahlia82-2 Hi there and welcome - sorry you find yourself here. I don't have any advice on the PCOS side, but my husband also has 0 morph (is that the only issue on his side? How were his other numbers?) I'd honestly push for the referral to the RE now. Many people say that it's important to be monitored in Clomid by an RE over an OB (but again there are other ladies here that can speak more to that)
Your RE may want your husband to see a urologist who specializes in male fertility to make sure there's no other issues. Some vitamins have been shown to help with morph including CoQ10, L-Carnitine, and Vitamin C. It takes about 3 months for any changes to show up so please keep that in mind.
We also have a "Dealing with Male Infertility" thread too that you will connect with other ladies whose partners have MFI.
I hope this helps and that your stay here is short! And, if you haven't already, introduce yourself on the newbie thread and jump into the dailies. It's a great group of ladies here. Good luck!
I'm still learning about what all of his numbers mean, but he has low overall sperm count, low overall motility and high Non-motile, High Non-viable sperm, and 0% Normal forms. My OB has ordered another SA for him, but the more I have been reading the more I agree that we should pursue the specialists now rather than waiting. Just put in my Amazon order for some supplements for him
@dahlia82-2 I agree, you should definitely get to the RE and an RU (reproductive urologist) sooner rather than later, to see if there are underlying causes that they can work on to get his numbers up. OBs are not well versed in MFI unfortunately.
So I was on vacation this week so I wasn't bumping and missed a bunch! @BusinessWife@JuneRoseRuby yay for fertilized eggs!! Fingers crossed so hard for both of you for good reports!!!
@BertieMeetsGertie any word on the SA results yet or when you will get them?
AFM came back from vacation about 4 days early as I had a monitoring appointment yesterday morning. Cd 10 and I already had a 24.2 follie. (At my old clinic I never did monitoring before cd 12 so I was surprised to see one that big already). I was worried at first cause the RE initially said we might have to BD last night and only do 1 IUI this morning but wanted to wait until my BW came back. I was upset cause I was really looking forward to doing the 2 back to back IUIs since it was a different protocol from my last RE. BW came back and Estrogen level was still too low yesterday so they wanted to give my follie another day to mature. Will trigger tonight and then have IUI #1 tomorrow and IUI #2 Tuesday.
Hi everyone, just found this forum today as i've been mostly on the infertility forums. Glad to find this forum and meet some people on the same path as me.
Diagnosis (If you've been): low AMH
Cycle/CD: CD22
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): TI until AF, then we are going in on our #1 IUI
How are things going? I'm excited i'm now under the guidance of an RE (took a while for DH to agree to seeing an RE) I keep telling myself i'm doing everything i can and that's all i can do. I've started Vit B complex, COQ10, Vitamin D, and prenatal with DHA to better my egg quality since 8/21/17.
Any questions? not right now
GTKY: what is your favorite online service? (Like stitchfix/Thrive/Blue Apron etc): I don't use any of them, but like a lot of the other girls, I live on amazon prime!

@BusinessWife finally got a chance to come over lurk to see how you were doing. So super thrilled for you and FX so hard!!! @JuneRoseRuby great numbers!!
@dahlia82-2, I second getting into a RE asap. They will be able to really pinpoint the problems and the solutions easier because it's their speciality. I am so sorry you spent all that time blaming yourself. I'd like to tell you that now that you are aware he's part of the issue the self blame will go away, but it won't. As women we still feel the full burden of not conceiving easily.
We worked with an OB for far too long. She did a SA on DH and said he was all good. When we finally got to a RE they did their own SA and we found out he has high quantity, but the quality was less than half of average. Something our OB'S test apparently didn't check.
At first I felt like a small weight was lifted off of my shoulders because it officially wasn't all my fault. That feeling didn't last long. It's still very hard to not get resentful sometimes that it isn't all my fault, yet I am the one that has to do all of the tests, all of the needles, all of the dreaded periods.
So you are not alone! Definitely check out the male infertility thread as well.
suchaglencoco My OB just referred us to an RE. It's taken some work but I have gotten my husband on board for a few changes (reducing smoking, caffeine, taking supplements) and hopefully it will make a difference.
Re: IF Testing & Treatment : Week of August 28
Trying to stay positive about it but I know the numbers will continue to drop which is nerve wracking.
So I had 18 eggs yesterday. 8 were mature, 3 more ended up maturing for a total of 11 eggs
ICSI 7 with MH sperm and 2 fertilized
ICSI 4 with donor sperm and 3 fertilized
So we have a total of 5 fertilized eggs
MH is ecstatic that he actually fertilized 2 eggs, where as I am sad we lost 5 mature eggs. I am trying to stay really positive and sensitive to him about the fact that he was able to fertilize anything, but I guess my goal of IVF was really just to get as many embryos as possible and I didn't care if it was donor or him.
