What are some things that always make you happy? Maybe it's watching a certain show, eating a certain food, spending time with a certain person. What is what turns a frown upside-down?
So I kinda started this selfishly because today is starting off very negatively and I need to become positive!
Ice cream! No matter how sad I am, eating ice cream always makes my day a little brighter! Thankfully, ice cream was BOGO, so I have cookies and cream ice cream sandwiches and choco-tacos at home!
Listening to old music always makes me happy, especially if it's a record.
When DH and I go to our favorite Italian restaurant. Their tiramisu is to DIE for. I expect we will go there soon for one or both of our anniversaries.
When a student tells me they enjoy my class or a lesson, or when former students say they miss my class. I'm at the point in the summer where I miss those crazy kids!
@lalala2004 omg, I also mentioned this in my interview for my new job: when I picked up a part time retail job during the holidays, I was explaining to one of the other seasonal girls how to do something on the POS and she turned to me and said (knowing that I used to be a manager) "wow, you were a really good manager." SHE WASN'T EVEN GETTING PAID TO TELL ME THIS! That made me SO happy to hear. Those are the best compliments!
Oh I needed this today too! DD is either severely teething or getting sick or both, but I slept maaaaybe 3 hours last night and it's looking like another rough night ahead!
So! Watching 30 Rock makes me happy, always, and it doesn't matter how many times I see it. David Sedaris stories are pretty wonderful to revisit too, I especially love the one about him going to art school. Of course, echoing @lifesabeach85 my DD's laughter always, always puts me in a better mood and I love it more than anything. And this probably sounds silly, but my DH does impressions, like voices of characters and stuff he's made up or we made up together and they always crack me up. And food wise, sushi is probably my favorite food and I swear the grocery store by me has good sushi! I eat it almost every weekend and it's the highlight of my weekend when I do. Oh, and wine! Wine is great!
Thanks for this thread @JennyColada ! I'm already feeling better.
Target! A stroll through Target, especially alone, with some Starbucks, can fix anything. As for food, its pizza. Same with you guys DH and DD's smile and laugh.
@lalala2004 tiramisu is my fave dessert EVER. Last fall I made a donut tiramisu and it was amaaaaazing.
@JNCPro3130 our son has just started saying "I love you" unprompted and it's basically the best.
I love early morning runs, sunrises, sunsets, snuggle times (with DH and the kiddos), the sound of laughter, eating sweet treats, especially in summer.

My happy place is a chair on the beach with a great novel (historical fiction is my favorite).
An ice cold glass of dry white wine and some delicious cheese will always put a smile on my face.
DD's laugh is the most magical sound in the world.
Laughing at one of DH's jokes always makes me remember why he is the love of my life.
If I'm cranky I just wanna eat good junk food, curl up on the couch with a comfy blanket or hoodie and just watch goofy movies.
@lalala2004 - Tiramisu is the bomb!
I also enjoy when DH and DS just leave me alone and let me sit in silence (doesn't happen much lol).
Cookies and ice cream, too!
