Eloise has been on my list from the beginning and DH is sold on it.  I came across Felicity again and just love it too.  I love Felicity Eloise.  Right now we are sold on Eloise Catherine.  But I do like that Felicity is so underused and I don't even know a in real life Felicity.

  • Both are great. It would depend on flow with middle and last name for me.

  • Felicity by far~~~
it rolls off the tongue much easier...more fluid to me
  • Hm... They seem very different to me.  Eloise is serious and traditional, but with the drawback of being a little frumpy.  Felicity is pretty and feminine, but could be perceived as very little-girly on an adult.

All things considered, I'd go with Eloise, because if your daughter doesn't like the frumpy factor as she grows up, she can always use Elle or Ellie as a nn.

However, I don't think her generation will perceive her name as frumpy or old-fashioned because the "little old lady" name trend is fairly popular.  The current generation being born today will probably think of it as a fairly typical name and perceive names like Karen, Jennifer, and Jessica to be "old-ladyish."

Depends on your last name but I like Felicity better. It is just prettier to me and stands out more from all the El- names out there
  • Felicity.

    Felicitous - "pleasing and fortunate"

  • Both are lovely. I vote Felicity, because it's underused.

  • All of you who are saying Felicity is underused: I have a Felicity, and you'd be surprised how many I've run into since she was born (2 years ago.) so not as underused as you may think.

for OP: Obviously I chose Felicity, but Eloise was also on my list. Both are beautiful and you can't go wrong.
  • So the middle name for Eloise right now is Eloise Catherine (last name is common two syllable starts with a B and ends with an "ie" sound).

Felicity I literally just thought of the yesterday and haven't thought too much on the middle name.  Jean is a family name on both sides.  Anne or Lynn are both our mom's middle names so that could be an option (one of them).

  • I love the flow of a 3 or more syllable name with a single syllable middle, so Felicity Jean gets my vote.

Felicity is slightly less popular at 356, and Eloise is at 209. Both are trending up.
  • I like Felicity Jean also.
  • Felicity Anne flows best imo. Felicity Catherine would be fine, too.
