It is one of the only boy names DH and I have agreed on. I'm a teacher so it has been really hard! Is Odin too weird? What middle names would go with it?
Our last name is 3 syllables. It starts with R so I feel like that eliminates a lot of names. We love but can't use Isaac. Also like Nolan but I feel like it's really common.
Any suggestions?

I actually like Odin, he probably won't share a name with anyone in class and it's a strong name.
odin daneil
odin matthew
odin gabriel
odin christopher
odin joseph
I like the above suggestions for middle names. Odin James could work too.

I don't think Nolan is too common,
and I like the name - I can only think of Nolan Ryan. I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old (boys) and I've never met a kid named Nolan
Nolan is rising in popularity, clocking in at 65 on the SSA list for 2016. However, for boy names, that means it's still not super-common. It's only 0.279% of all boys born in 2016. For instance, my son's name was in the 70s in his birth year, and he's consistently been the ONLY kid with his name in his entire school at all 3 schools he's attended, including a big, suburb an middle school that has more than 1000 kids. For boys, once you get out of the top 20, the actual number of babies given that name really drops off.
Also it would be so awkward if you have a boy who is more chess player than football player...
For me it falls into the same category as Arnold and Oscar, nope.
