@becausescience I dunno. Someone mentioned it and then I googled it and I found several articles. You can decide for yourself. This is the one I read: https://www.fitpregnancy.com/pregnancy/pregnancy-health/acetaminophen-really-safe-pregnancy

How far along are you? 7 weeks tomorrow

How old are your other kids? Almost 14 months

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? Nothing much thinking of starting to transition DD to her own room. She's slept through the night since 3 months but hubby is super hesitant since her room is across the house from ours. I'm def ready to transition her though.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :  excited to have a newborn again and excited to see how DD interacts with him/her

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions feeling super moody and annoyed today. It sounds silly but on top of DD being cranky and teething I was looking forward to my chocolate crunch Greek yogurt after I put DD to bed because hubby couldn't handle her fussing I came out and he ate my yogurt  :s . He is lucky we have company tonight and had to bite my tounge otherwise I probably would have bite his head off lol. Hopefully by the time company goes to bed I'm not as cranky because Kind of ruined my night I'm not gonna lie. :D

@jerseygirl9090 I've had my pregnancy food fridge jacked before, too, and it totally ruins my mood. What is with that?! You also make me want yogurt with crunchies...

ETA: Clarification--pregnancy food is any edible a pregnant woman had her heart set on consuming.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?

First trimester fatigue is setting in. Also getting worrisome aches and pains that I'm hoping are normal, but don't remember from first pregnancy. Also, my son is currently going through an "I don't want to sleep" stage and waking up every night. Sometimes he doesn't go back to sleep for an hour or more. He was always a great sleeper. Doctor said he's fine. Can't figure this out or what to do about it. Any suggestions?

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :

Excited about becoming a mom again and giving my son a playmate! Can't wait for all the cute baby noises and cuddles and smiles. I'm also really looking forward to seeing how my son reacts to having a new baby around. (Hopefully it will be positive, but I know even if it's not right away it eventually will be!)

    Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions
Might be TMI, but is anyone else experiencing sharp vaginal pains that come and go? This is really concerning me and my doctor seemed a little worried when I told him...

@Kkoeppicus are the pains like near your cervix? Like if you recall from your first, when you maybe had baby putting pressure on your cervix, does it feel like that?

Yes feels like that. But obviously way too early for that to be a reason.  Doctor examined me and I didn't have any pain at the time. Comes and goes.
  • Options
@Kkoeppicus I only ask b/c this is my third, and I didn't have that with my other two, but I've felt a bit of that pain (twinges, really) on and off during this trimester. I think it's usually when I've been working out though, so I'm not sure if that's what you're experiencing or not. I hope it gets better!

@Kkoeppicus I've been having some odd pains down there. I think it might be from the hormone relaxin that is now circulating through our bodies. Our ligaments are loosening and with my second pregnancy I felt more of these pains and this being my third I have felt it pretty early this time around. If it get debilitating I would definitely call a doc.

Thanks. That makes sense. And it gives me a reason not to worry. I appreciate your response.

@LiveNLove44 Mine are just completely random. But if several of us are experiencing them then I'd say it's a good chance that it's normal and probably gets more prominent as you have more pregnancies. Good luck!

My son is a daddy's boy and I worry that he won't adjust well to having to "share" his dad.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :
I'm excited to see him as a big brother. He loves babies! Hopefully he loves one just as much when they're here 24/7.

Any ideas on transitioning into a toddler bed? We want to do this before the baby comes.

How old are your other kids? 2 in November

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?  I'm concerned with how we will time manage with two children. I am also worried because I graduate at the end of February and baby is due the second week of march. DS was 3 weeks early and I can't miss the clinical time or exit HESI or I won't graduate.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : I'm so excited for my first baby to be a big brother. He loves babies and he is so sweet. For now.

    Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions
Question. The growing twinges and pains are way worse than with my first. Have other STM+ noticed this? I had a CS with my first, maybe scar tissue stretching?
  • Options
@Gingermom15 I don't know if it's because I've done it before, so I recognize the feelings or if it's just different this time, but yes. Way more growing pains, RLP ((which I don't remember with my first)), and just stretching in general.

I do remember having RLP pain with my first, but not until later. It's not excruciating, but pretty annoying and sometimes makes me stop and need a break. Good to know it doesn't seem to be abnormal. Thank you!

Feeling exhausted all the time is making it extra challenging to conduct all my normal mom-duties.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :
My eldest is an amazing big sister and I am excited she's going to get even more of that.
    Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions

Are you passing any responsibilities off to your significant other? We've got a good balance when it comes to sharing the load. We give each other breaks but always sort of even it back out so if I take a nap Saturday he goes to lunch with a friend Sunday and so forth. But I am feeling exhausted and wonder when or if it might be appropriate to ask him to take on a little bit more so I can rest some times without me "owing him one." I think he'd be receptive to this but wondering what y'all are doing?

@Kkoeppicus I think you're describing what my past 2 BMBs called "Lightning Crotch" -- like sharp, sudden shooting pains in the crotch. It seemed to be verrrrrry common in the 1st trimester. Try searching the boards for "Lightning Crotch" lol

    DS is 1.5 years old!

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?
We recently started DS in daycare three times a week (he's with our parents during the week, too.) and not for nothing, but we could really use a break in getting all the sicknesses. It's the worst when pregnant.

Other than that, he's adjusting well to his new routine, but I feel like he senses I am pregnant. He wants to be held often and cuddle with me, which I don't mind at all.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM :
I can't wait to see my son as a big brother!

    Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions

I wish I could be sleeping right now instead of at work. I need a nap every day. I also found out I have an 8 cm cyst on my ovary, so that sucks. No working out, walking only. I guess that's fine because I have zero energy these days anyway.

@SoFlaMommie1128 I feel like my little is much cuddlier right now and senses that I'm pregnant too, it's the best!

    21-month-old DD and 19-year-old stepson

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now?  I am just enjoying my time with my DD even more now, knowing I'll be sharing the love here soon. And I'm exhausted. Working full time, being a Mommy and being pregnant is a lot.

Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : I'm cautiously excited and want to get through the 1st trimester hurdle.

Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions Random, but my stepson is living with us and we need his room for LO. Him living here wasn't a permanent situation, but the hubs and I are waiting a few more weeks before we have that potentially awkward convo.

@Ambybambi how do they know??!? Last night he just wanted to lay with his head resting on my shoulder and he fell asleep while I was holding him. The sweetest!!

@mintea I don't remember lightning crotch in the first trimester, and I think that term is used often to refer to the shooting pains that happen when baby is much bigger and putting pressure on all things in the pelvis. Every pregnancy is different, but I think it's typically a third tri symptom (glorious, right?).

DS is very clingy all the sudden and is transitioning to a big boy bed so sleep has been terrible in our house, he fell out of his crib the other day and I feel like we are lucky he didn't break his arm because his crib is so high up. He's way too old to be in a crib anyways, but we were hoping to get a few more weeks out of it before we move.

Did anyone take their kids with them to prenatal appts? How does that work? DS can't even walk yet, I have a hard time imagining him chilling during a 20 min appt...

@KristinUM12 I bring my 12 month old to all my doctor appts... even physical therapy a few months ago. I put him in the stroller and bring snacks and a drink and fasten some toys onto the stroller too. So far so good! Also they love seeing him at the ob office!

I think my daughter is sensing a change. She's been extra whiny, clingy, and waking a lot for me at night again. She still asks me why she can't have my milk, so I hope she's over that by Feb/March. If we are fortunate enough to share our news in the next month I'm really wondering how our son is going to react. He's been asking for another baby, but he wants a brother and... I just don't know if that's happening. Ha!
DH and I love watching those videos of gender reveals to big siblings where the kids start crying cuz they wanted a boy or a girl and it isn't what they wanted. I just die every time, it's so cute. But really, I hope he's excited for you either way! I'm sure once he meets the baby he'll love it either way. I wanted a little sister so badly when my mom was expecting #3, and when my brother was born, I walked in, saw him and said "I really wanted another brother the whole time"

I pick our daughter up from daycare and get her settled at home with a snack and H basically does the remainder of the parenting the rest of the night in addition to making and cleaning up dinner. I'm so exhausted by the time work is over and feel the most queasy in the evenings that it's necessary. Don't be afraid to ask for help! It's temporary and you need it.

@KristinUM12 I took my 2 year old DS to my first appointment today--I'm just prepared with coloring supplies, the iPad and snacks. It was a longish time for him because I had to do all the intake paperwork and such but he does pretty well. He's been going to all of my appointments with me since he was a baby so that probably makes it easier as well. I don't have family nearby and my friends all work so I don't have a ton of choices about it.
