Kellen (Names Similar)

Kellen is at the top of my list and my sons (he's 4 and picked it out). My husband doesn't like it, but he said it's up to me because he was adamant about our sons name and it was non negotiable (Patrick).

What other names could you suggest? Perhaps I'll find more common ground. I also love Samuel (Sam).

DDs name is Claire.

I like Samuel better. Here are some others that you might like with Patrick and Claire. I'm thinking Irish mostly.

i like Keegan - DH doesn't.
love Declan - DH hates it.
tried cormac already - he said no!
like Thomas but it's my dads name and my parents divorced and DH just doesn't want to use it - thinks it might hurt my stepdads feelings (he raised me).

still like Samuel a lot.

My kids are 4 years apart as well. The name my daughter picked for her brother: Pancake Syrup Lastname.

Needless to say, we didn't go with her suggestion! You don't have to go with Kellen either, just because the baby's big brother picked it. I checked Behind The Name, and Kellen is a variant spelling of a variant spelling of an Anglicized name of Celtic origin. To me, that pretty much makes it a made-up name.

People have suggested names above that are similar in flavor but more traditional/real. Samuel is an excellent name!

I'd keep Patrick involved and keep looking/thinking about other names!
