Eric and I have been having conversations about our seemingly never-ending to do list. We've been feeling like our weekends of quality time together just the two of us are just dwindling away so quickly and we're wasting them on errands all the time, so were going to start trying to do more during the week so we can just enjoy each other's company come sat/sun. Next weekend we have our maternity photoshoot, and then the weekend after that he's away for a golf weekend, the weekend after that we have a little RnR getaway to San Antonio and then we're officially in the final countdown. I'm starting to get nervous about a 3 hour drive while 36 weeks pregnant... my OB just said to stop frequently for pee breaks and leg stretches but am I crazy to be out of town that close to my due date!? Tell me honestly...
QOTW: It's funny because in Houston, summer isn't a time to really get out and enjoy as it can be soooooo hot haha. But I mean, in general when it's comfortably warm I like laying poolside, or doing outdoor sports like golfing or beach volleyball. Obviously (being pregnant) the pool is about all I'm able to do, which truth be told is lovely for relieving all that pressure and weight.

@latershrader Enjoy the showers!! I couldn't tell what was a punch vs kick either. I only know now because of location. They feel the same.
AFM, 37 weeks and 2 days with my little girl. I'm now at weekly ob appointments and at this point, just waiting on labor to start. Still need to pack my hospital bag, but that's really not important here. My hospital basically has everything and you just bring what you want, if you have a preference. Otherwise, I need a going home outfit for both of us and the car seat.
QOTW: Summer has felt like it never really started and is now over. Lol. We did go to some outdoor free concerts and an outdoor movie, but I also usually sunbathe on weekends and I haven't done that this year.
Good luck at your appointment @latershrader !
@oxinfree, the nursery looks ADORABLE! I promise you that your to do list eventually ends and then you feel lost without it! As for your trip, if you were going somewhere remote and rural I would honestly say that would concern me but you are going to San Antonio where if, god forbid, you went into labor there are reputable docs to help you! I would take your birth plan with you and maybe even your bag? Just peace of mind.
QOTW - most of my summer activity love involves sitting on a patio drinking wine so that has changed! I was really good with walking every morning until 36 weeks and then it just got too hot. It's been too warm for me to golf as well which is a shame - I've always heard that being pregnant can give you the best swing of your life!

@oxinfree - I don't think you are crazy at all. Just listen to your body and gut. I was feeling fine on Friday and said that's it, I'm going to the cottage and went to the Muskokas for the weekend. 3 hours from home, 1 hour to the Barrie hospital if I needed it. My OB had said as long as you feel fine and have a plan/know where you can go.
That being said though, I don't know if it's the same in the US for you gals, but at 36 weeks we start carrying a copy of our pregnancy chart with us, a carbon copy of what's at the OB's office. It's always in my purse along with the L&D phone number we just call to let them know we are coming. That way, whoever is treating you (including L&D) has your pregnancy history and doesn't have to wait for it to be sent over by the OB. We also have to fill our the pre-op form and carry it with us incase we go to a different hospital.
@byrneme - one of my best friends, her boy stayed breech the whole time, never flipped for her. So she had a c-section scheduled. He flipped 3 days before the scheduled C, she went into labour and then after a few hours he flipped back breech! They tried turning him but no luck. As she was sending me a message saying they are getting her ready for a c-section because he won't move, he flipped back again on his own and was born vaginally 30 mins later. Needless to say, Miles is the most active, full of energy baby I've ever seen lol. He keeps his mom on his toes!
36 weeks with our little boy. Still...feeling good. We think a bit of carpel tunnel has set in on my left side/hand. The knuckles are pretty sore, little swollen. When I wake up, it's really sore, takes some cold water and trying to curl and extend the fingers to get them moving again but basically my left hand is always a bit sore, especially to curl my fingers. Should go away after the pregnancy though.
Little guy is a mover - always moving it feel like all day, luckily quiet at night though. We got the car seat out, decided it'll be installed in the centre and the Nuna is super easy - automatically level in our CRV which is great. This weekend will be freezing some food that we can (we eat a lot of fresh foods so that's hard to prep) and getting a few of those padsicles made up.

Going to the cottage!! It's my happy place - just being there - family, our neighbours, swimming, canoeing, campfires (and usually an afternoon rum hehe Not this year). I was soooo happy to be up there this past weekend, I didn't think I would be up at all after the May long weekend until Thanksgiving. If he comes early or on time, I think I'll be able to do a September weekend (maybe, hopefully).

@oxinfree love the nursery! It's so cute!
@byrneme there's still time. But I would also be on google too.
@JWatt5 it's great that you're doing freezer meals. Would your parents or inlaws be willing to do some also? My MIL has been wonderful about cooking for DH while on bedrest. He's even able to freeze some stuff.
Afm, 30 weeks today! Wahoo!! Had some contractions today, but they gave me some medicine that stopped them. I was moved to a room with a view of the street, not just a wall. It's wonderful to see cars and trees.
QOTW: my favorite summer activity is working in the yard, planting things, watering them, picking produce from the garden, and sitting on the patio looking at the yard.

QOTW: I love to sit on our patio with a nice glass of wine or mixed drink(not this year!) with friends or go kayaking(again haven't been able to go this year). I also love to go hiking with my dog but I won't go alone being pregnant and it's not my hubbys favorite thing to do. Plus our dog is getting older(he's almost 9) so energy wise he is slowing down and only able to hike for 30 minutes or so...we used to go for 2 hour hikes when he was little!
@kp214 thank goodness for a room with a view! That has to make the day by a little faster than staring at 4 walls! Glad to hear you and baby are doing well!
@byrneme hopefully baby turns on his/her own. The dr I work for had the inversion done and she was bruised pretty badly and said it was fairly uncomfortable .!..unfortunately it didn't work for her but my OB said it works about 50% of the time if you have to go that route! I've heard great things about spinning babies and using a chiropractor to help as well!
@oxinfree love the nursery! As long as your Dr is ok with you traveling and you have a back up plan I think it's ok to travel. Can your dr give you a copy of your records in case you would go into labor just in case?
@latershrader enjoy the showers!
@byrneme Sorry to hear about the breech but you still do have time....I do hear some yoga/acupuncture/inversions can help?? Possibly...
AFM...I am 32 weeks + 4 days with my little girl. We had our baby showers this weekend....here's a pic of me hitting a piñata, for fun, with everyone staying out of my way
Anyway, I had a check-up last week and my GD diet is working! My fasting glucose was 12 points lower. I also haven't gained weight in about 2 weeks, which really makes me think that this diet is changing everything....My girl is almost 4 lbs (as of last week) and is head-down.
QOTW: Vacation and drinking! Is that okay to say? Haha. I'm clearly not doing the latter and the former- we did go on a babymoon a month ago, but now I am staying put (outside of work travel this week).

@omarismyhomeboy love the picture!! Your dress is gorgeous.
@latershrader I hope you have fun at your shower today!
@JWatt5 sorry to hear about the carpal tunnel. Does ice/heat help?
29+5 with my little girl. Today was my glucose test, and choking down the lemon-lime glucola was truly a vile way to start the morning. I've been pouring sweat and queasy since then, and my heart was racing while I waited for the blood draw. On a better note, she's measuring right on track at 30 weeks. My first baby shower is this weekend at my in-laws' place, so I'm really looking forward to that!
QOTW: Like @byrneme and @ARB425 I have definitely been missing out on the patio-with-wine/cocktail time this summer, although my other favorite activity is lounging by or in the pool, which I'm still enjoying as much as possible. The heat is really starting to get to me these days, though.
QOTW: Favorite summer activies are reading at the beach and, of course, day drinking with friends down by the beach. Drinking I obviously have not done, and unfortunately haven't gotten down there for any lying out and reading either. I worked up until last week and weekends were so busy preparing. Plus i was told by OB to avoid long periods in the sun b/c of my fluid levels. Hopefully we can get in some family beach trips with baby Soulik before weather turns
Well I'm on the no progress train as well. Saw the OB today no dilation AT ALL! I was super disappointed but on the bright side her head is still down! I was holding off on scheduling a massage and acupuncture but I'm definitely going to schedule a massage and strongly consider acupuncture. Hopefully next week I'll have some progress! Found out they will let me go to 41 weeks but it will be discussed more at my appointment next week if everything looks good.
@Kp214 - I think the freezer meals with help too! I'm sure that my mother or MIL would make us food - the only problem is we don't eat the same so it's hard for them to make us stuff/know what to make. DH and I don't eat beef, pork, dairy products from animals etc. (it's really helped my endo and our health). But - I'm sure they can definantly help with chopping up lots of great fruit and veg when they first come to visit - that would be a ton of help for us. I spend a couple hours each week on food prep!
@omarismyhomeboy - you look so cute! haha Glad you had a great time!
@MicronesianMamma - so close to the due date! Hope your AC gets fixed too - so much better for sleeping!
My Postpartum order just came in - have mesh underwear and peri bottles delivered just made it really real lol. I'll complete my bag this weekend! Work is not getting it, that in two weeks I'm done work - they keep asking if I can start new projects that have no possible way of getting done, even properly started, before I go - which hasn't given me time to complete the transfers for them either since they decided they didn't need a temp to fill in. They keep talking about policy changes we need for January 2018 - my return to work date is in August 2018 so...not sure what you want me to do haha.

@omarismyhomeboy love the shower pic, and great job with the GD diet!
AFM, just got the call today that I failed my 1 hr glucose test. Got 146 and threshold is 140. Close but no cigar, I guess. So now I have to do the 3 hour, which I am absolutely dreading.
@MicronesianMamma ugh! No AC?! I hope it's fixed soon.
@JWatt5 that would be helpful to have them chop and help with food prep. I'm glad you've found a diet that helps with your endo. That's terrible about work. I wish they were more understanding and helpful in lightening your load in preparation of your leave.
@EmilyE13 sorry about the glucose test. It doesn't necessarily mean you have GD. When do you have to go for the 3 hour test?

@oxinfree Your nursery is SO adorable! I love the dino theme! I'd go out of town if you get the chance. It's going to be a while before you can do it again!
@persnickity Hoping for some progress for you! Fingers crossed!!
@byrneme Sorry to hear about the babe being breech. I will also keep my fingers crossed for you!

@latershrader - so glad you had a nice shower. I am using a pack n' play in our bedroom for the first while as his crib. Because we're so tall (I'm 6', Eric is 6'7) we're guessing our little man will outgrow any bassinet way too fast to justify buying one and we figure a pack n play will get well used in the future especially going away to visit family or on vacation. It's not portable enough that we'd move it around the house for naps, I think you'll still want a rock n play or swing or whatever...
@EmilyE13 - So sorry to hear about you failing the glucose test. They're not fun to begin with and then to have work stresses on top of that... ugh. Hope the 3 hr goes well for you and it's all just a false alarm. Hope you have a lovely shower this weekend!!!
@JWatt5 - haha... wowwww, if it hasn't clicked for them, they're in for a rude awakening. I like @byrneme 's suggestion... smile and nod
@ARB425 - so sorry you're not progressing. I'm sure that's beyond frustrating. I just know I'm going to be so impatient by that point. I feel like part of me is already like, "are we there yet!?" haha Good that baby is head down. Hope you enjoy a massage... makes me wanna go get one
@MicronesianMamma - ugh, last thing you want right now is for the air to stop working. I wish we could just have a little talk with our babies and compromise on their arrival haha. One can dream righ@Jwatters07
@omarismyhomeboy - oh how fun your shower looked! Great pic! Glad to hear diet is going well and baby girl is head down. Things seem to be going great for you, I hope it keeps up!

@ARB425 I would be frustrated with no progress too. Especially with everything you're doing to try and help. It's good to hear that you can go longer if you need to, but hopefully you don't need to! I asked by ob not to tell me the status of my cervix, because I didn't want to get frustrated from lack of progress.
@latershrader Glad you had a fun shower! We decided not to get a pack n play, but we did get a baby Bjorn travel crib. We wanted something simple we could almost use as a play yard in the future.

@oxinfree sorry you had that scare the other day! Our anxiety can really get the best of us sometimes. Has it been especially warm where you are? You may have just been slightly dehydrated. I had a similar situation happen to me a few days ago and the tears just started flowing til I found her heartbeat with my Doppler.
Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. I told myself last night that I just need to try to relax, labor could happen anytime. This past week has really gotten to me. Im exhausted and the heat/humidity has been brutal. I'm ready to be on maternity leave and meet our little girl. After struggling for so long, it's a good portion of all I think about is finally being a family. My last day at work is scheduled for next Friday so it's not too far off. As much as I am trying to avoid an induction, I'm at peace with what will be.

@latershrader - so they didn't give me much further advice after I told them what I was doing - trying to keep my arm straight/hand straight when I fall asleep. Since I have it both sides I alternate sleeping sides each time I get up to pee. Cool water and moving them gets them going for the day pretty fast still. Just have to stick it out for a few more weeks and then after he's out, it should stop.
@oxinfree - Food prep is paramount with this diet eh! I think on top of whatever I can think of freezing I'm going to do a large dried goods prep. Portioning nuts, dried fruit, order a few boxes of healthy granola bars (I usually make my own) and things like that. We're going to freeze portioned smoothies too so we just have to take them out and defrost over night for the am. Sorry to hear about the scare - it's interesting - I think quite a few of us have had it around that same mark in pregnancy. It's not fun to go through but shows you are paying attention and I felt like my OB and L&D really appreciated that.
We got a pack n play more so for traveling/cottage/going to grandmas. They can use it for a few years. (we got this one https://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=80467896) Then we have the Halo bassinest for beside the bed. I think once they can roll over that may not work anymore and if we still want him in our room at that point (which they do advise now) we'll either cram that pack n play in our room and deal or we'll get a smaller one (love the Nuna - wanted that but my mother got me that other one a loooong time ago when she bought one for her house).
Put my foot down at work - I had to start saying no, because I can't keep this up. Full term at this point so it's really not in my hands that I will be working until the 3rd sooo...no more starting stuff that I can't finish or easily pass on. They seem to be handling it well but...I did cave and said I'll come in/work from home a bit - pending a health and happy baby/self - in the New Year for a very short period of time. My mother lives 5 mins and will be able to provide child care.

TTC for 8 years.
Started in 2008 with timed intercourse, ovulation testing, no official monitoring.
OB-GYN recommended Clomid and timed intercourse, attempted for 6 straight months.
First surgery June 2009 (OB-GYN): diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis and large hydrosalpinx on right tube.
Second surgery (July 2009, RE performed this): Right tube had to be removed, lots of adhesions removed.
Attempted "trying on our own" as per RE recommendations, unsuccessful 5-6 months.
HSG performed December 2009: left tube open.
February 2010: started Femara and timed intercourse, attempted 6 months, no BFPs.
Took a break for a while.
January 2011: started IUI process, ovaries never properly responded to medications, 6 failed attempts, never actually completed an IUI.
Took 2012-2014 off due to depression and frustration (side note: did complete grad school to become a nurse practitioner- great distraction).
2015: started seeing RE again, went through tons of testing and HSG, left tube now blocked, only option is IVF.
September 2015: Started first official IVF cycle, cancelled in October due to large cyst on left ovary.
October 2015: started on birth control for 2 months.
December 2015: attempted to start another IVF cycle, cysts on both ovaries on initial ultrasound, left was huge, cancelled to aspirated cyst.
January 2016: Cyst back, surgery for ex-lap, cyst and adhesions removed.
March 2016: Attempted second IVF cycle, estrogen way too high, cyst back, cancelled again.
April 2016: Third attempted IVF cycle, 7 eggs retrieved, 2 mature (but not great) embryos made to fresh transfer, neither implanted.
May-Sept 2016: Break to regain sanity.
Sept-Oct 2016: Attempted fourth IVF cycle, very successful, cyst still on left but we ignored. 7 mature "great looking" eggs retrieved, 4 mature embryos made it to day 5 transfer. Transfer aborted due to large amount of endometriosis fluid in uterus.
FET of 2 embryos completed on 12/12/16.
