I'm going with the no plan plan. I want so bad to have a more "natural" birth this time but I know it will be a million interventions so I'm just going to roll with it.
@failuretofly We completed our classes and it left me feeling like I needed a doula. Oh well! DH had an OB rotation during nursing school so that will have to do
I did find out our hospital offers nitrous oxide as a pain management method, so that was interesting. The only weird thing is that they only have like, X number of rooms equipped with it set up (also only have X number of birthing balls, etc) so if census is high when we deliver we might be out of luck on most of the labor aides.
My midwife has me all hyped up that this birth will be easy peasy... but I am trying not to be too optimistic, because I know labor isn't that simple. I finished my birthing course, which I am glad i only paid $15 for because it was kind of useless, but whatever. I'm just going to prime DH with a couple of things I'd like to be reminded of throughout (relax my face, don't slouch/sit on my sacrum, keep moving) and my plan is to basically just ignore labor as long as possible since we are still planning a homebirth I am planning on spending the majority of my time in the master suite, I lined the area around my tub with Christmas lights for some ambiance and deep cleaned the tub just in case I end up delivering in it.
I just saw this thread bumped to the top and holy crap you guys have been thinking about these since july?! I think DH would have called me crazy if I asked him to go to class in the summer. He's in a constant state of "why are we doing this?" which is exactly why there's no Bradley method for us.
DH likes to recommend the Charlie method instead where he just repeats, "ouch, that really hurt." He's useless
