  • Oh, and I don't have any pregnancy symptoms even though I had them for about 2 solid weeks. I know that doesn't always mean anything, but to me that's a bad sign.
  • @JournoGrl23 hugs. Can you call your ob office and ask when your first ultrasound will be? That will give you something to 'work towards' or look forward to. I'm sorry you're feeling so discouraged. Fwiw it's still early for symptoms!
  • @heatherdubrow and @SP128 That's a good idea. When the nurse calls with my results from my labs, if it's good news, then I'll ask her when I can expect my first ultrasound and if there's a way I can get one on the 24th. They don't usually do labs prior to the first appointment and she was already willing to let me get them since I do have a history of loss, so hopefully she'll understand this request as well.

I know it's really early for symptoms, but with DD I had them on 9dpo (the day I got my hard BFP) and they just got increasingly more prominent from there until I reached my second tri. I know this is a completely different pregnancy and I'm breastfeeding, so things could be very different this time around, but it's hard to quiet the doubt that creeps in.

How far along?  3 weeks 7 days

appointments?  Beta blood work at 5pm today, next one Friday early afternoon, actual appointment August 17th.  I'll be 9 weeks.  I could have gone at 8 weeks but I wanted to push it back a week when my DS starts school.  I couldn't find anyone to watch him and don't want to tell my in-laws yet.

How are are you doing?  Still obsessively POAS every day to watch progression.  This one feels different from my loss so far.  I was cramping every single day with my loss enough that I needed to take Tylenol.  This one feels a lot like my DS so that is helping me stay hopeful right now. Mantra lately has been stay calm and it is out of your control.  Ask me in a month when I still am waiting for my first appointment!

  • @hullabalou it's totally ok to be grateful to be pregnant, and still not enjoy being pregnant. Morning sickness is miserable. Big hugs

  • @hdaley I have probably 15 pee sticks in my bathroom drawer. I finally stopped peeing on them after my 2nd beta, when I spent the whole day freaking out because my test looked lighter, but my HCG had actually more than tripled. I had to talk myself off the ledge after that one and stop buying them.

@journogrl23 waiting on the first ultrasound is the worst. I hope time flies by and they schedule you quickly.

  • @heatherdubrow - Good luck at your appt today! T&Ps for a strong heartbeat!

@JournoGrl23 - totally feel you on the symptom front. It's so hard. Sending you tons of good baby vibes.

@sp128 and @hdaley - Sending good vibes for those strong beta number! I know the waiting is so hard - betas are seriously the worst.
  • @chasingroygbiv yay for symptoms! I totally get the tp check though...
  • How far along are you?
Playing with an EDD calculator gives me a 10 day window... so I'm somewhere between 6-7 weeks

    Any appointments coming up?
    First appointment is 2 August

How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
In a lot of ways, I'm doing better--my nausea has really ramped up the past couple of days which is reassuring. Mostly I am just reminding myself that today I am pregnant and trying to stay distracted.

@heatherdubrow  I am excited for your u/s today! FX for twins

    @JournoGrl23
I hope you can find some peace and that they will fit you in for an earlier appointment and u/s.

@SP128 I hope you have great Betas today. Keep us updated.

@hdaley that's my mantra too. FX for great Betas.

@hullabalou I definitely have mixed feelings about the MS and symptoms. On the one hand, I feel like the symptoms are reassuring, but on the other hand, I don't think anyone likes throwing up and feeling nauseous.  <3

@tosh24 I hope everything goes well tomorrow. Symptoms can come and go and that's totally normal.

@missydallas I think you said it perfectly. The waiting and wondering is the hardest.

@chasingroygbiv I had a medium sized SCH with DS and everything turned out just fine. It disappeared between weeks 11 and 17. I know it's hard, but try not to worry. And I am constantly doing the TP check every trip to the bathroom after my MC last month.
  • @ellekell hugs mama. I hope you see a beautiful heartbeat

@heatherdubrow hope all went well today!

@JournoGrl23 totally feeling you on the m/s. This go it's unlike anything before. By now with both of my girls, I was puking daily. It's got me so stressed something isn't right. Hugs to you.

@tosh24 this is me. Inside my head. For a minute I'm thinking this lack of symptoms is a bad sign. Then suddenly today, cramping in my right side has me convinced it's ectopic. I hate PgAL brain. Hugs and I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.

@SP128 awesome news! Grow, baby, grow!

Tomorrow, first checkup with midwife. I'm a nervous wreck.

How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
Not so hot. PgAL brain in full force. Pregnancy symptoms have been unlike anything I've experienced in my two successful pregnancies (particularly lack of morning sickness). New cramping and pain on my right side now has me worrying about possible ectopic. Stupid PgAL brain. No symptoms and I freak. Symptoms that may be harmless kick in, and I automatically take them to a bad place. I hate this.

  • @jesuisjamie I'm sorry PGAL brain is kicking in for you. If it makes you feel any better, I had really bad pain on my right side with my successful pregnancy to the point where I was convinced it was ectopic. Turns out it was an ovarian cyst that the OB said was supplying hormones to the pregnancy and was actually a good thing. It hurt but didn't hurt my pregnancy at all! I hope it's something simple like that for you.
  • Hi all, just wondering if anyone on here has experienced an ectopic pregnancy loss?
  • @mountain_girl I have not, but a friend just did 2 weeks ago. Do you have a question? I can try to help with what I know from her experience.
  • @Chasingroygbiv nothing specific, my ectopic was in October, got the methotrexate shot in December, 4 weeks pregnant now and I'm just feeling anxious every time there is a pain or cramping at all ...hard not to worry that it's another ectopic ...
  • @mountain_girl After having one Ectopic does that put you at a higher risk at all for another? Maybe it's round ligament pains you're feeling? Hugs.
  • @chasingroygbiv yes, the risk is increased after having one...whatevs, nothing I can do about it! Thanks for the virtual hugs! Ps. Love your username
  • @mountain_girl Could be! Also agree that it could be round ligament pains. That can hurt pretty bad sometimes too. If you're concerned at all, you could call your doctor and see if they want to do an early u/s to make sure it's not ectopic.

I ended up in the ER with 2 out of my 4 pregnancies thinking I was having an ectopic because of the pain. Turned out to be the corpus luteum cyst both times. Hope that's all it is!

  • Ooh yes! @tosh24 makes a great point. I had a cyst with my daughter (and also while not pregnant), they hurt!
  • @mylovelittlelove I have my second appt. next Wednesday. I had a ultrasound last week at 6w showing a baby with heart rate of 111! I am feeling pretty secure about things right now. I am a little nervous though because I'm on progesterone suppositories that are causing a lot of discharge and the past day or so some of the discharge is tinged brown, so I'm concerned it may be some brown spotting.
