Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Nope, doc appt isn't until Aug 3, but anatomy scan is scheduled for the 28th.

GTKY: If you were stuck on a deserted island with only 3 items what would they be?   Hmmm... I guess cell phone and charger (although would there really be a place to plug it in?) and going the practical route some sort of food item!

What rants/raves/questions/advice?  I started the Progesterone shot last Thursday and I don't know if this is a side effect from the shot or a bug going around, but I can't stop pooping! I was so constipated prior to this I should be happy, however it's very annoying to have to keep running to the bathroom.  We had to do injection training so SO could give me the shot (its in the butt, i can't reach), so that was interesting. He managed to get it though and it didn't hurt... I know I'm in the second trimester now, but I swear I'm more tired now than I was during the first.  I was hoping that wouldn't pick up again until the third!

Also... did anyone find any good prime deals? I saw a rock n play go through, quite a few carriers, the my brest friend pillow is on there, and quite a few other things! If I didn't have most of my stuff already, I'd probably take advantage of some of the deals. Target's baby sale is this week too and it's also a great time to get a car seat if you need one!

  • @tmk0325 I was on progesterone following IVF.  It made me sleepy and constipated!

As for me, I'm 15 weeks today!  MoDi twins

No appointments last week.  I see my ob/gyn on Friday.  MFM next week, and I'll start biweekly scans then.

On a desert island, I presume it's a cheat to bring a helicopter and pilot.  I'd bring Burts bees lip balm, a lot of rum (seems to work for a lot of things), and a pocketknife.

I wish I could stop worrying about the risks of TTTS.  The more I am filled with joy at what's happening, the more I worry about the risk of loss.  I just need to be present in the now, I guess.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science

    7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

  • @tmk0325 I've been pretty tired lately too! I recently started co-hosting a radio show on a college station with my dad from 7-9 pm and last week we got dinner afterwards, so I was driving an hour home around 10:30 pm and I thought I might not make it I was soooo exhausted! I'm normally a night owl so being tired before midnight is new for me!

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
I have an appointment 6 days from now! The wait hadn't seemed too bad until this last week when I started getting more anxious about not having a bump or really feeling too much. I just want to make sure they're ok!

GTKY: If you were stuck on a deserted island with only 3 items what would they be?
Lots of water, food, and a fully charged satellite phone... my answers are kind of boring lol

    What rants/raves/questions/advice?
I've been getting random sharp stabbing pains in all different parts of my abdomen and groin area. They usually only last a couple of seconds, but they hurt quite a lot when they're happening. Is this round ligament pain? I also have been getting sort of sharp twinges that will last a few minutes that are a little less stabby... just want to make sure what I'm feeling is normal!

Had a quick US last week to check on the littles, and they look great!  We got a clear picture of a wiener, butmy doctor didn't want to outright confirm for some reason. I showed the US pic to my boss, who's an RE and a self proclaimed expert at early sex detection, and he says he's 99% sure they're boys. He says he can't be 100% because he wasn't controlling the machine.  I'm not buying boy stuff YET, but I'm pretty convinced. And super excited!

GTKY: If you were stuck on a deserted island with only 3 items what would they be?
A hunting knife, seeds for veggies, a flint kit to light fires.

    What rants/raves/questions/advice?
@leilagphillips I've been having those same quick, sharp pains in my lower abdomen. I feel like they're different from RLP, but I'm not too worried about it.

Omg @tmk0325, I wish I had that problem. I haven't pooped in like DAYS.
@KLake42 sorry you're still feeling uneasy. Hope that goes away soon.

  • @KLake42 the odds of developing ttts are relatively low. It's hard not to think about it, but try not to stress too much. The fact that you are taking the steps to get seen is the best thing you can do at the moment!!

  • @tmk0325 My doctor told me that progesterone may make you tired. I took it through 12 weeks, but I wasn't sure if was tired because of the progesterone or just first trimester tired.

I wish I had known that all of that would be on prime day because I would have signed up.

@KLake42 It's easier said than done, but try not to worry too much.

@leilagphillips I've been having all types of pains in the abdomen area too. I worried at first, but the babies have always been OK so now I don't worry about it as much.

    @breezybee Congratulations!

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
No and I feel like it's been forever. My next appointment is the anatomy scan on the 24th and I'll see my current doctor a few days later. The good news is I'll be switching to the doctor I wanted (at a closer hospital), but the bad news is I won't have an appointment with her until Aug 21st  :/. I guess I'll just keep seeing my current doctor until then.

GTKY: If you were stuck on a deserted island with only 3 items what would they be?
A solar powered desalination machine (IDK if one exists LOL) so I'd have an endless supply of water, food and if I could have my SO as an item, he's pretty handy and would probably build us a boat. If my SO isn't an option, I guess tools to try to build a boat.

    What rants/raves/questions/advice?
My rant is above regarding how long it will take to see the new doctor and of course the rave is that I'm able to see the new doctor. No questions at the moment.

19+4 di/di. Still surreal to be past the halfway mark!

Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
Check up at my OB last week. Next appt with MFM on Tuesday 18th. My OB is expecting them to do echo's on the babies hearts. Anyone have experience with this? Should I drag my DH along?

GTKY: If you were stuck on a deserted island with only 3 items what would they be?
A knife or ax of some kind, sunscreen, a margarita! I miss beer and cocktails!

    What rants/raves/questions/advice?
Raves: prime day. I bought over 800 diapers for like $60, and bought both carseats for just about $250 - Graco Snugride Click Connect 35 Elite (or something like that). I picked the Joovy Twin Roo as our starter stroller, and we'll move to a traditional twin stroller when they're older. Also, all my maternity clothes from Gap and H&M came in the mail today! Weird how one pair of jeans fit different than the other in the same size!

Question: upholstered or wooden glider? I know the wooden ones are much more padded, but the upholstered look to be a little bigger and supportive (big concern on support for both me and them). We're starting to look at furniture and I'm torn one this. Prices also seem to be about the same. Oh, and what about a matching gliding footrest? Nice to have, never used it, or couldn't live without?
  • @KathrynJ088 That's a great deal on diapers! What brand did you go with? I was watching to see if Pampers had any, but it didn't seem that great. I saw 7th Generation and Huggies had some really good deals though!  We have the graco snugride click connects also, I really liked them.  Easy to use and just popped right in.   I also ordered some clothes from Gap last weekend. They come today too! I got like 3 shirts and a pair of work pants for $40! Hopefully they fit!

We have a wooden glider that has the padding attached to it. It does the trick. It came with the matching rocking ottomon. The ottomon I used more when I wanted to lay back on the couch and put my feet up.  I didn't use it a ton with the glider. I honestly wish I would of just bought a recliner, because I think i would of used that way more.  I'd probably just go sit on a few and go from there!

  • @KathrynJ088 I ended up with a wooden glider but it was really all about butt feel.... There was an apolstered one I LOVED at BRU but it only came in white which was not going to happen.  I loved having a foot rest so I vote for an ottoman but you could find a short stool or an exercise ball which could serve the purpose. One thing to consider is I fell asleep in that chair a lot with the babies or while pumping so having something with head support was helpful. I like the idea of a recliner because you get both...

  • @stella_700 How exciting! I'm glad everything went so well at your appointment! I'm hoping for either G/G or B/G, I just really want at least one girl! I have an appointment on Monday and I suspect that my OB could probably tell me the genders then, but I'm going to wait until the week after for the anatomy scan, because DH and my stepdaughter will be there for that. The suspense is killing me!!!
  • Congrats @stella_700 how exciting!!!

On a different note gap still has their big sale going on. Got my first shipment yesterday and turned around and made another purchase today. Got two pairs of pants and 6 tops for under $100! Figured I could use some new maternity clothes (even though I have a bin full)!
