@barrelocarol I never thought of it that way before. Here I am feeling sorry for myself with all these aversions/cravings but you are right, they are absolutely guiding me.
thanks for helping me gain some positive perspective.
@bb3vj3n Awesome! I only realized this now and I felt the same way as you before! So I guess my positive spin is that I am not bound to Taco Bell like I was last time.
Aversions are coffee (sad, need this daily to keep up with the 2 littles), eggs, fish... Cravings keep changing, but mostly it's potato soup, even though its 80 degrees. I put sour cream and cheese on it and it's delightful. I think I'm mostly craving salt, and after reading this thread, Taco Bell.
Aversions - tea and coffee. Which is great actually because I'm trying to cut my caffeine intake. I haven't had any tea/coffee since my BFP. DH's coffee smells so strong every morning and makes me want to puke.
Cravings - I was craving fresh cherries and ate a bunch last night. Then my nausea hit and I'm no longer craving cherries (yuck). No other true cravings yet. But I love pizza in general haha
@mdfarmchick and @hullabalou, I normally crave Subway like craaaaaazy while pregnant. But reading your posts about it made me stomach turn. Maybe I won't crave it this time! That would be nice for our bank account...
Okay, so I never eat fast food. It grossed me out. But the last two days... Baby G has only wanted McDonald's French fries. Hey... I'm not gonna fight it. If it settles my belly and makes the baby happy, I can stand to kinda hate myself for a few days for eating it, lol. Hopefully this craving passes and I can go back to eating my veggies!
...I'm desperate for the inside filling of a DQ ice cream cake. I don't like ice cream, just that delicious crunchy, chocolatey center. How on earth can I satisfy this without buying a $22 ice cream cake.
No cravings the first two times! I kept hoping for something but nope. I felt ripped off.
This time I have no desire for ice cream which is weird because I eat it almost nightly after my kids go to bed! I'm still eating pretty normal but switched to peppermint tea over my morning coffee to try to help my nausea.
With my last two pregnancies I craved anything healthy. Lots of fruit and salad. Watermelon was my favorite with both.
I love fruit with this pregnancy but I'm not really craving it. Fruit is just one of the only things I can eat right now that doesn't make me nauseated. I love anything spicy, mainly buffalo sauce.
My adversions right now, I cannot stand the smell of BBQ sauce! With my first pregnancy I couldn't even go near chinese food which killed my husband since its his favorite.
Tonight, I wanted steak and baked potatoes with chili & cheese. DH cooked it and I couldn't stomach it. I ate a few bites of my steak and I ended up just eating broccoli and a plain baked potato.
Aversions haven't hit yet, but last night I had my first craving ever (as in I had zero cravings with DS). I craved pop, which I we don't ever have in the house. But I was already showered and in my pajamas and was not about to make my husband run to CVS for pop this early in the pregnancy game, so I didn't get it. I did, however, figure out I was just thirsty and craving sweet, so I had done Swedish Fish and cold water and was satisfied.
For some reason, watermelon has always been something I can tolerate and that makes me feel a little better when I'm nauseous. PSA: the Outshine watermelon fruit bars are amazing. I may have eaten three today.
Chicken enchiladas tonight. I have been craving them hard, and I've never made them at home, so I'm hoping this isn't an aversion-creating disaster. Strawberries are still going strong, and I'm happy they're on sale in all the stores around me!
Why is the grocery store closed when I NEED Fruit Loops???
Anyone else get horrible morning sickness when they can't satisfy a craving. I just threw up because I'm trying to fill my Fruit Loop void and I can't!
Last pregnancy I developed an aversion to red meat, which I normally love, and could live off of cucumbers sprinkled with salt. I also had a wine/alcohol aversion most of the pregnancy, which was fine by me since I didn't intend to drink much. However, the smell of beer which my husband did not stop drinking really bothered me.
The red meat aversion is back, chicken is just barely tolerable. Fish is fine though. The only things I've been craving are cheese and sushi.
lasy night I dreamed of a buffalo concoction. Dreamed the recipe lol. I'm not generally a spicy person but it sounds really good and might just be dinner.someone nearby is grilling hot dogs and they smell delish too but I don't have any buns.
im not really having many ceavings just aversions so I need to follow cravings that happen ha
I'm craving Timbits really badly, but I've managed to not give in so far. I'm trying so hard to eat healthy. Thankfully, I'm also still craving fruit salad.
@bb3vj3n If you count a sip of my husband's wine here and there (we're talking once a month maybe), sure I'm drinking.
However, if you talk to a doctor about alcohol consumption during pregnancy they will tell you that there is no literature or science out there that says absolutely 0 alcohol, and there are countries (like France) where women do drink when pregnant. France does have a higher incidence of fetal alcohol syndrome, but it's not close to the proportion of increased alcohol intake. So, to be safe doctors say no alcohol because there is no study out there (it would be unethical) that pinpoints exactly what quantity is safe. I had this discussion with an MD before TTC because I do enjoy having 1-2 glasses of wine (when not pregnant/breastfeeding) here and there and as we all know there's a time period where you're pregnant and you don't know you are. Basically, my point is, if a pregnant woman has a small amount of alcohol I wouldn't judge her. It's not all or nothing.
I'm mostly vegetarian and never eat red meat (the idea of steak grosses me out), but cheap hamburgers (like Wendy's) have been calling to me for weeks now. Maybe an iron thing?? And crunchy salads, though I've always liked those...
Yesterday I had the urge to shovel breadsticks and soup in my face from Olive Garden. After work I just couldn't get there fast enough! Well... big mistake. I felt awful all night and today I feel crappy, too. Damn you OG... damn you...

Also, wayyy more aversions when I'm dealing with a ton of bloat. Ugh.
I went to Subway for lunch yesterday, I had been craving it for a couple of weeks and it was amazing.
