I Got my last period on June 23 and I should have just ovulated. Last night I was feeling symptoms of pregnancy so I decided to take a test even though it is way too soon for an ept. I swear I saw a faint line and my husband said I was nuts. This morning I looked in the trash can and I definitely see a positive (photo attached). Could this be a false positive? How can my body pick up on the hormones so early? I know it's against the rules to ask if I'm pregnant but would just like some feedback and thoughts!

It's against the rules to ask if you're pregnant and PLEASE don't post a pee stick pic.

If you see a line outside of the testing window (like you did the next morning) it's not valid and is probably an evap line. Unfortunately symptom spotting is mostly in your head, especially if you think you just ovulated. Try to distract yourself and keep testing until you get a positive or a period.

Never ever ever take a pregnancy test out of the trash can and check it. All pregnancy tests have a window of time in which they need to be read. The window is generally about 5-10 minutes after peeing on the test or dipping it in a pee cup, however you do things. After that any results you see are considered invalid. So, ya know, yeah you could see a negative test and throw it away, dig it out the next morning and go "holy crap that's a line!" but chances are it's just an invalid result.

Also, blue dye tests are notoriously bad about giving positive looking lines that are just problems with the test. I know I've seen one or two of those and so has pretty much everyone I know who has used a few blue dyes. Blue dyes are basically the devil. I'd suggest retesting with FMU with a pink dye test like the First Signal brand from Wal-Mart are the New Choice brand from the Dollar Tree.

It's against the TOU to ask if you're pregnant.

Whut? I know it's against the rules but heck with 'em? That's something else. 


Eta: The "Add Discussion" button is literally right by the one thread on The Bump where it's cool to post pee sticks in all of their urine-splattered glory. Why not just post there??

Guise, if she posts the same TOU-violating question twice the rules (and common sense) are invalid and someone can tell her she's KU, right?

If you post two threads in which people say "no," then that's two negatives, and negative times negative equals positive! Totes preggers!
