  • @bridge-and-wall the issue is we don't talk and he hasn't seen my daughter in a very long time. But I'm running out of options and he has family that can help him with money if need be so idk. It's a long shot but I'm seriously looking into how I can get him to pay like yesterday!
  • @tfrangul Do you have a court order as to child support? If he won't pony up on his own, personally I wouldn't hesitate to get the court involved. If there's a court order and he's not up to date with what's required by that order, then he's in contempt. They can garnish his paycheck (assuming of course that he has a job).

  • @wannabeamongoose he has been working under the table for years. They have taken his lisence and levied accounts, everything. But he has no reported income. He does have a court order but not much else can really be done until I get a private attorney and go that route. But obviously due to finances I won't be doing that until I get this house situation straightened out. He is something else. He got a 10k  settlement when his gma passed away and had the check put in his aunt's name so it could not be taken.
  • @tfrangul That figures. He sounds like a piece of work. :(

  • Gahhh!!!! I just found out my husband can't get more than 2 days off work when our baby is born! I knew that they would not give him much time since he's not built up any vacation (he's under 90 days) but I thought he would at least get 4-5 days. I'm freaking out and I don't know if it's legit or horemonal  :'(

@Breath_Easy92 my husband doesn't get PTO or sick leave, he works construction and they get laid off if they want some time off.  It's very stressful, we haven't discussed what we're doing yet, but I'm assuming since my husband is the breadwinner he will return to work asap!
  • @Breath_Easy92 @adoo what states do you live in? Are there any state funded programs that could help? Both my SO and I are self employed so we don't have any PTO either but thankfullly California has Paid Family Leave.
  • @jenn622-2 money isn't really the issue, he'll get fired if he misses too many days.

@adoo aw man that's rough too. I make about 3X as much as my husband but since ive been not been able to work since April due to complications my husband had to get a new job that offered more over time to make up for it that's why he has no leave.
  • adooadoo member
@Breath_Easy92 yea it's rough but last night we were actually talking about it, and he wants to take off more than I thought he would which surprised me because he can't sit around and do nothing!  He misses work too much!  So we're just waiting to see what happens, our DS has unexpected medical issues when he was born and spent 3 months in the hospital, so we're hoping for the best but prepping for the worse!
  • So we decided to get both dogs fixed yesterday... wtf was I thinking!!!!!! The longest night of my life. Mind you when we picked them up one of them fell over and peed himself and was snorting like crazy freaked out and was told it's normal like can I get a warning please ahhh all is well today so far
  • @adoo haha he sounds like my husband... he's always first to volunteer for overtime even before all this. I wish I liked my job that well. Wishing you a happy, smooth delivery :)
  • Watching a marathon of the show OutDaughtered on TLC, has anyone seen it?? I'm obsessed but it gives me anxiety thinking about having 6 daughters
  • @bnmort8 if it helps at all, the healing process is rather quick. We spay and neuter all our pets as well. Most of the time they are back to normal in a day or 2! Good luck!
  • Did anyone get anything cool for prime day?

Not yet, but they are going to have a deal on the Ergo 360 starting at 8 pm, so I'm waiting to see how good the deal is. It seems like they have a bunch of deals on baby monitors, but of course not the specific one we want!
  • adooadoo member
I got a few things from Prime!  I was able to get a "gift" from baby girl to her big brother for a good price and a few other little things!
  • @Rhubarb7216 yeah. They do have some good deals. Hopefully the ergo is a good one for you.

I looooooove that show!!! Idk how they do it, I'd go insane!
  • This little girl...some days she is a wild child and it is painful when she moves, and other days, like today, she is very quiet. Some consistency would certainly set my mind at ease.
  • So I'm a teacher, and I go back for preplanning July 31st, and I'm kind of not looking forward to it, not because I don't like my job or something. I'm not looking forward to the first day faculty meeting being in a room full of people I haven't seen in 2 months, who I feel like are going to come up to me to make small talk and just say wildly inappropriate things about how big I've gotten or want to touch my belly. I'm not very good at hiding my face, mainly because I see no reason to. If you make a jerk comment, your going to get a jerk glare looking back at you. But yeah, I'm not looking forward to seeing people from other grades that I half know, thinking because I'm pregnant, that somehow gives them the right to comment on me or my baby.
  • Just talked to my ex about the money he owes. I told him if he can atleast come up with 5 of the 17K he owes me I will talk to an attorney to get the order to stop accruing. He said he needed to think and to call him back tomorrow after work. He also informed me that my mother had been calling him when I was going through all that horrible stuff with my husband and his mental health and told him all kinds of lies. So that's neat. I am so pissed. But at least he knows I am a good mom and stopped talking to her. Any way let's hope he can come up with some money to help save the house.with

Ummmm I'm an idiot and posted this on the weekly ticker change thread. SMH.

ugh. So DS has hand foot and mouth. I couldn't get him to sleep in his own bed so he got to sleep with us last night. Cue three hours of him waking up screaming every 45 minutes followed by another six hours of him sleeping relatively well, but constantly hitting me in the face with his crazy octopus limbs. And DH was at poker night until 1 am so he got to miss out on most of the fun. Now DS is cuddling at Nanna's house and I feel like a terrible mommy because he begged me to stay home from work and cuddle.

@tfrangul I'm so sorry your mother did that. So totally inappropriate. I hope he gets some money together for you. You don't need the stress.

edit: @heatherlynn321 Even when people see it happening every day they think it's okay to touch or comment. I can't imagine seeing people after a two month break. Here's hoping everyone keeps their thoughts and hands to themselves.

  • @wannabeamongoose I'm so sorry your little one has HFM. From what I hear it is no fun! I hope for your sake you all sleep better tonight.
  • @heatherlynn321 just respond with I noticed you got bigger too! Then poke their belly like the Pillsbury dough boy. Lol
I really dislike people and their comments. Lol

They seem to be doing a lot better!! Thank you
  • @tfrangul Any word on the money for the house? Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  • I know we are in the home stretch here but it still feels like there's an eternity until baby arrives and I'm going out of my mind!! How is everyone coping with the last couple months?! I'm physically uncomfortable and bored because I feel like I can do less and less each day and time seems to be crawling...
  • @tfrangul I'm sorry to not hear better news :( please keep up updated!

  • Ugh, United States maternity leave has me so depressed. I had originally thought I'd be able to get 3 months off for this baby, I had to go back after 6 weeks for DS and it was way too soon. Unfortunately I can only afford 6 weeks again this time and it has me feeling so sad about it.

    : (
  • @heatherlynn321 I'm sorry. :( I am in a similar boat myself and I truly wish it were different.
  • At least some employers here in the US are nice enough to offer any paid maternity leave. Most of the companies in my area don't offer any paid leave. My SIL only was able to take 2 weeks, and it was completely unpaid. I'm grateful for the 6 weeks at 60% pay my job offers. I can't imagine trying to go back to work just two weeks after giving birth.

I left my 2 year old with my MIL overnight, practice for when I'm in the hospital with baby girl.

hardest thing I've had to do in awhile, you would think he's never slept there before (which he has).

20 minutes I was a sloppery mess.  Now since I'm home I might take advantage and hop in a warm bath without a toddler knocking on the door every 3 minutes!

Is there any reason NOT to use a normal backpack in place of a diaper back pack? I have a nice NorthFace pack that is gathering dust. The only concern I foresee is that it's kind of deep and things might get "lost" at the bottom.

I mean, if it doesn't seem like it's working I can always change bags later.

My husband used a north face bag for his diaper bag when I'm working on the weekends. I like that diaper bags have more compartments, but he just puts things in ziploc bags and it works.
