Complete my sib-set...

edited July 2017 in Baby Names
I currently have Edward James (Eddie), Howard Alan (Howie) and Franklin Christopher (Frankie).  We just found out that our fourth child is a girl. With our previous pregnancies, our girl name was always going to be Vivian Marie, but we have since made good friends with our neighbors who have a little Vivienne, and I'm not sure if I want to use it anymore!

Other girl names we like but haven't fallen in love with: Ruth (Ruthie), Rose (Rosie), Grace (Gracie), Millicent (Millie). We like a more formal name with the option of a nickname that they can choose to go by or not as they age.

Would love some suggestions:)

I can't hear Millicent without thinking the Disney villain.  Of your choices I like Ruth nn Ruthie!

Thank you for the great suggestions!

@Bringmemylongswordho my middle name is Corrine, so that is on our list!  although it's more likely a middle name:) I also love the name Louise but not the NN Wheezie, so the idea of nn Louie on a girl blows my mind!  I'm excited to see what DH thinks about that one.

  • I think Ruth/Ruthie is perfect. I also like Rose, Rosemary, Rosalie, or Rosalind with nn Rosie. My only other suggestion is Cecelia or Cecily nn Cece, but I like Ruthie or Rosie better than Cece.
  • Also, my inner 6 year old wanted to point out the Disney villain is actually Maleficent.

I wondered because I'd never heard of a Millicent in Disney, but we also don't watch a lot of princess movies at this point with 3 boys 4 and under;)

  • I like your names, but (just my personal opinion) I am not a fan of a nickname being longer than the name (Ruth/Ruthie, Rose/Rosie, Grace/Gracie). All cute though. Some other ideas:

    Rosalie (Rosie)
    Matilda (Tilly)
    Josephine (Josie/Joey)
    Louisa (Louie)
    Evangeline (Evie)
    Briana (Bree)
    Caroline/Carolyn (Linney)

  • Millicent would be perfection!

    Beatrix (Trixie)
    Lucinda (Lucy)
    Cordelia (Delia)
    Della
    Rosalind
    Geraldine (Dina)
    Maxine
    Magdalena (Maggie)
    Adelaide (Lady)
    Rebecca (Becca)
    Tabitha (Tabby)
    Katerina (Kitty)

Haha my bad!! But I guess to me, Millicent still sounds Disney-villian-esque

One of the girls I work with is Louise nn Wheezie and I thought it was out of nowhere... is that actually a thing??? Haha oops. Like Louie for a nn though.

Wheezie has been a nn for Louise for a long time. Anyone else remember The Jeffersons? It was the wife's nn.
  • Didn't know that! Too funny. Is the girl you know a nurse @laurenm2123
