I've always loved the name Cassidy for a girl, but when I mentioned the name to my husband, he innocently said "Cassidy, as in Butch Cassidy?". I'll admit it was funny, but now I have a weird complex about this name association. Does anyone else associate these names together? My family is already jokingly referring to our future daughter as "little Butchy", but I wanted to see if other (normal) people would make this odd connection.
Thanks!

It feels dated on a girl to me. I would find it refreshing to hear on a boy.
On the other hand, your daughter might get a kick out of it once she gets older. My grandfather's nickname for my grandmother was Butch because she'd always been a tough, feisty woman. She loved it.

it was trendy for girls a while back
on a boy it wouldnt be as bad
Cassandra maybe?
I like PP suggestion of Cassandra. Pretty, feminine, underused and could be Cassie, Sandy, etc instead of Butchy!!
