Not even TTC #2 yet but I am always thinking about what we would name a second girl.

I love Delilah, but I always get mixed reviews. Wondering what your thoughts are since it seems that everyone feels so differently about it!

DD is Savannah Jane for reference.

Re: Thoughts on Delilah

  • It's ok. I like just Lilah much better and think it fits better with Savannah.

That's so funny, I would think most people thought Delilah went better with Savannah.

There's a lot of other names on our list if and when we have a second girl, but Delilah always gets such mixed reactions from people IRL.

  • Delilah is ok. I do prefer similar names of Daphne and Dahlia much more. I was sad H did not like Dahlia as much as me

I'm somewhere between "it's okay" and "hate it."  I think "not a fan" is the best way to describe how I feel about the name delilah.

Delilah is fine. With Savannah it's very southern. But if you're southern I see no issue with that.

That's what my sister said- I'm from NJ so not so much the southern part haha.

We will probably wind up going with something different, if we ever have another girl but I do love Delilah!

  • I think it's pretty; my issue is the Biblical reference. I'm hardly a fanatic, but Samson and Delilah is a pretty common story with anyone who ever went to Sunday school, and she's hardly someone I would want my daughter named after. I feel the same way about Abel, Cain, Jezebel...I feel like people weren't thinking
