I got an epidural pretty early with DS. I had been in labor almost 9 hours and the pain was unbearable for me, but I was only 2cm when I got it. After I had it done though, labor was amazing. I felt nothing and was able to just relax and enjoy the excitement pain-free. It started to wear off just before it was time to push, and they tried to give me more meds, but it was just so painful at that point. I'm sure the pain is normal, but I'm not sure how much was because the epidural was wearing off and how much was just pain that I should have expected. Either way, I am 100% getting it again. Lol
