I don't like chocolate. I mean I like chocolate milk and the occasional Reese or brownie (is a brownie considered chocolate) but I hate solid chocolate. Hershey's kisses? No, thank you. Hershey's bar? Uh, No. Dove chocolate? Nadda. I don't know why just solid cholocate is a no-go for me.
I have a hard time with essential oils and herbal remedies. I want to be all for them, but I'm just not, especially since I've never found any of them to work for me when I've needed them to.
@jesslardarello I love chocolate. Though I do prefer a chocolate chip cookie or a brownie to solid chocolate.
Beer on the other hand... which is odd, because I vastly preferred wine to beer before I got pregnant. Now when I see a glass of wine, I'm like "Meh." But when my husband has a beer, I have intense envy.
@DuchessOfCambridge It took me a handful of times at chipotle to fall in love. I think part of it was how much people loooooooove it, I wanted to be contrary. But also because I've realized I only like the burrito bowls, not the burritos.
@MississippiCatfish I live really close to one and have had it a bunch of times. I think I liked it before I had actual Mexican food (there is one really good legit place near us) and now Chipotle is ruined.
We had this place in my hometown called "Burrachos" that was similar to Chipotle but made these nachos with amazing queso smothered all over them. So yum. So unhealthy.
I love Chipotle but Qdoba is even better. I don't miss alcohol at all.
Ok, if anyone here sells EOs I might offend you with this post so...sorry in advance. I think EOs have their place. Sure, lavender might help create a calming atmosphere and peppermint might help with mild headaches. But I don't believe they should be looked at as a cure or treatment for a real medical issue. With the MLMs that have popped up selling EOs I think that line of thought is getting to a scary level. Salespeople are not doctors, have no medical training, yet some (I realize not all) are suggesting an EO for every ailment. Not all oils are safe simply because they are natural and some will even burn your skin, yet I see people suggesting they can safety be ingested, or used without a carrier oil even on children. I know someone who made her own toothpaste with EOs and ended up with a bunch of cavities within the space of 6 months. I have a friend on FB who suffers from debilitating migraines. Like, she had to quit her job because of it. I often see people posting on her page asking if she has ever tried oils to help her migraines. Its a sales pitch and I get so angry for her. She has a medical condition that she has been to a million specialists for--sorry, but oils aren't a magic cure. Not to mention the sketchy history of the founder of Young Living...worth a Google if you are interested. Obviously this is a hot button issue for me so again, sorry if anyone here sells oils...but I really have no patience for the oil craze and I think there are times it can be really harmful.
I was *this close* to trying lavender oil on DS's sheets (another mom said she dabbed some on the sheet and it helped) because he would wake up roughly 6.5 thousand times at night. We instead tried J&J lavender bedtime bath. Don't worry it didn't work.
@liz4382 soooo sketchy!!! And the other big MLM EO company, doterra, was created by former young living execs. Not that necessarily makes it bad, but enough reason to read up about some of it.
I pretty much hate anything MLM and just like medicine too much to put faith in EOs. Makes me feel like a snob because I know there are people who really like them and herbal remedies but unless my doctor recommends it, I'm probably going to ignore it.
Well as I live in Denver where the first Chipotle was they are everywhere. I don't love it but I like it enough. As far as oils my mom is a huge oil fan and always wants me to try oils for everything. They never seem to work for me.
I don't equate Chipotle to real Mexican Food - to me it's Taco Bell with different options. But, the hot salsa and chips are delicious. And some days, you just need to indulge in some super salty chips and salsa.
I have had chipotle but prefer Moe's. I always refer to it as a Mexican subway! haha I could eat there everyday. I am from hispanic heritage and I KNOW good Mexican food. Sure, this is not the best Mexican around, but I can depend on our local shop to be fresh and yummy! I craved it with my last pregnancy and ate it last night! By far my favorite thing is the Salsa Verde unless they have the Pineapple one -which is seasonal!
Never had Chipotle . There's rhis place called burrito banditos that I really like. I feel like I never have an UO and it makes me feel unoriginal and very sheep like
The term "push present" bothers me. I don't think women should get gifts for the act of having the baby. They should instead get something for growing, nurturing, and taking care of the baby. Give me a good hour in a hot bubble bath when I get home. Or get me a giant caramel macchiato after having the baby. But don't call it a push present. I don't need a good job because a baby evacuated my womb. I need a coffee, some food, and sleep. It wouldn't hurt to throw some Lanolin in there too haha. Idk...I've always called the things I give a mother's aftercare kit.
@mariposa_767s I don't consider it a "good job", I consider it a "I understand the last nine months and this delivery have been hard for you and I want to show you I appreciate you" kind of thing or something just commemorating the birth. I think it's fine to be pampered a little. One woman's new piece of jewelry or new bag might be another's hot bubble bath or caramel macchiato. I won't be demanding a present but if it happens I'd love it to be a ring with baby's birth stone so if I'm not with him It's just a nice little sentimental reminder. It's how I feel about my wedding/engagement rings too. They make me smile.
Chipotle's not Mexican food... it's just..Chipotle. But they are my favorite for vegetarian options. Moe's tofu is super bland, Qdoba doesn't have a tofu option, but Chipotle's sofritas give me all the heart eyes!!

Chipotle: I can take it or leave it. I also prefer the burrito bowls over the actual burrito. Mostly I really like their guacamole. I prefer Qdoba only because of their queso sauce.
Push presents: I think the name just throws me off. Like, "here's a trinket for pushing a baby out of your vagina". The term turns me off a bit. Why do I need a "present" when my baby is my gift? That being said, my argument is entirely semantic. I'll be asking for sushi and a beer/wine shortly after birth, and I do like the idea of jewelry with birthstones to commemorate and celebrate the birth. I think I just get thrown off by the terminolgy of it implying it's a "reward".
My only issues with the term push present is that it's a)kind of crass b)insinuates that c section births don't deserve appreciation c) makes me actively think about what I'm planning/hoping/going to do in November. Eeek!
Eta: that being said I will never say no to any kind of gift whether it be a pandora charm, jewelery, flowers, food, a massage, a 30 minute shower, a card, or an a for effort attempt at doing something nice (DH is big on these, he honestly tries his best but just really rarely thinks things through)
@RiverSong15 that makes sense! The name is pretty weird. @bcashaw I could be totally wrong about this but I thought that with some c-sections you do still have to push
@liz4382 yes!! The eos kill me. That being said, I do have some that I use only for diffusing because I enjoy the smell. Eos have developed this weird cult-like following where everything can be cured with coconut and essential oils. No. Just no.

This! I hate the term but I don't see anything wrong with your SO giving you a gift as you recover/because he appreciates you/whatever.

Chocolate - I LOVE chocolate. I usually can't go a day without at least a little. However this baby doesn't seem to like it very much. I've been having it 2-3 times a week still but I never really crave it.
EO - I'm not really a huge fan BUT we put some lavender in DD1s hair after a lice breakout at her school and she never got it. Idk if the EO helped or not but I'm going to say it did until I know otherwise.
Chipotle - NASTY. Bland. Overpriced. No thanks.
My UO - Let me start this by saying I don't know if it's really "unpopular" but people bring it up a lot so it must be. Whenever I bring up the fact that I have all girls EVERYONE says something along the lines of "Oh no, poor you. All those hormones and periods. Good luck." Like no, stop. 1) Boys can be hormonal too. 2) You wouldn't talk about a grown ladies hormones or period out of the blue so why talk about an unborn child's. 3) Not really your problem. 4) You're rude AF. Say something supportive.
@jesslardarello You're alone on that! Haha, Chocolate is everything!
I don't like chipotle, and honestly I don't like any "fast food" Mexican. It's scares me. However I did have a Carne Asada Burrito from the farmers market it its was totally authentic and I've been craving it since.
@ElizabethSchuyler I wouldn't use EO for my kids butttttt I use Shea Moisture's lavender soap and lotion on DD2 and I love it. It smells SO good and the lotion is just really thick and awesome. I switched to that after all the news of formaldehyde in Johnson & Johnson products. Does it help her sleep? I doubt it but it smells amazing.
Push presents are kinda weird to me, like to each their own but I would rather be pampered During the pregnancy and given some tasty grub after but otherwise meh.
EOs are not a cure all but they def have a place in my home, I am a fan of homeopathic cures but not limited to EOs and even then I know there is a point when it's time for a doctor.
My UO is it's weird to me when people who arent married or heading in that general direction buy a house together... A friend of mine bought a house with her boyfriend but they have zero plans of marriage any time in the near future. Like I know each person has their own beliefs on marriage but it's just weird to me....

I love chocolate but I don't like when it's mixed with peanuts or peanut butter. Let's keep those separate ok? SO loves Reeses. Me...not so much...
ETA that this baby doesn't seem to like chocolate though. I haven't wanted chocolate since I got pregnant.
DS1 is 7. DD is 1. DS2 is coming in late April.
I...don't like Chipotle. I think it is a fairly bland, substandard burrito.

I've only tried Moe's twice and the only thing I liked was the queso. I'm starting to think maybe I just don't like "fast food" Mexican.
But, to each her own.
