So I cleaned out my work fridge yesterday. Lets just say it was disgusting. There were a few science experiments going on that I just tossed in the container they were in. Also pretty much all the condiments were expired.
Does anyone else notice that they bruise easier now? I have quite a few bruises and have no idea where they came from. I don't remember hurting myself or hitting myself on something in those places.
We picked an assisted living facility for my mom today. It seems really nice, it's 25 minutes from our house and she'll have her own room. I'm feeling a lot of guilt at the moment but I know it's the best thing for her.
@RhodaMorgenstern that's a big step! It sounds like this is the best option for the both of you. I think feeling guilty is normal (so feel free to let loose here). When does she move in?
@kristah2 we're targeting July 1st but she needs an assessment and a TB test so we need to find someone who can do that next week. We start moving her stuff this weekend. Thanks for the kind words to you and @desoky01 I'm really struggling tonight. A snuggles are helping a lot.
@RhodaMorgenstern I know it probably doesn't feel like it right now but you are definitely doing the right thing. And she would tell you the same thing if she could. Hugs!
@RhodaMorgenstern mom guilt sucks, especially when it's guilt about your own mom. It sounds like it's also a great decision. I couldn't imagine how you did it all. I've been cleaning my floors often, and every time I think of how you said you did it every night. Hopefully some of that will slow down and you can spend more time with your mom rather than stressing.
@RhodaMorgenstern Having gone through this with my grandmother, I can say that it is extremely hard and the first few months aren't much easier, but for your own health, in the long run, it will be the better option. You will be able to visit whenever you want (pending a driver license(?) or an Uber) and you can spend the time you need with your mom as opposed to half the time doing the care taking and sometimes feeling negatively as a result. Let out a few good cries. Give your mom and DD lots of hugs and trust in the process.
I'd say another video @kristah2 My LO is so trying to climb and does this quietly. So I would like to see her if I should leave a room. But for now she joins me everywhere.
Here the dads name is pappa, also easier to say, but NO WAY she says that first! My bonusdads cousins boyfriend kept saying pappa to her when I was there to visit and I didn't think it was funny at all. Like WTF, you wouldn't do that if I actually had found a pappa! Nope mamma it is! But she just smiles if I try to teach her, with or without ASL.
Thats a big step @rhodamorgenstern, but it will be a good one for both you and your mum. As you are a mum now, you know how it feels to only want the best for your LO. That's how your mum still feels, even though she might not be able to express it. Only know you a little bit through here, but you are a kind strong woman that definitely has done her research and don't place your mum anywhere. She'll be in good hands, and when she sees that a heaviness has lifter of your shoulders she will feel it. Driving lessons suck indeed, I actually have gotten out of the car once and left my instructor to 'fix it'. But the freedom that comes with it was so worth it
B had a poopsplosion in the car seat - only I didn't realize he had pooped so we sat in a drive thru lane forever and then I left him happily in the car seat while we ate and he was on the floor. Oops. Car seat is being washed for the second time in less than 24 hours
Is there anything creepier than one of your kids toys randomly making noise in the middle of the night?
Yes! My kid has a red car that you sit in and play with buttons and it often goes off in The middle of the night. We've had it for 3 years and I always turn it off. It's creepy! Some nights it won't, others it's one time and sometimes it goes off multiple times.
Oh my, this girl has really been throwing some tantrums lately. I can't believe she's starting so soon.
SAME! He is freaking out every time I leave a room and does not want to be put down today. Everyone keeps commenting how they only see him super giggley and smiley when I'm in the room. ODD was not like this.
Could be a leap, my little Pixie will be in one of her leaps in about 8 days. Her duedate was 11nov (as they calculate from duedate and not date of birth) Itll be a long leap too according to the schedule

I don't have wonder weeks. Is it leap 6 or 7? And how long is long?

It's leap 6. According to the book it's between week 36 and 40 The Dutch version however start between 33,5 weeks until 37,5 weeks
Theyll leap into the world of categories. (That have both books/apps the same)
I think it must be part of a leap, A is going through the separation anxiety. My husband is finally feeling better so he took A downstairs this morning with my sister so I could get some sleep. I woke up at 9:30 because I heard her screeching and screaming. She refused the pouch and bottle and was refusing to be held or put down on the floor. I came downstairs and she grabbed for me, grabbed for the boob, ate for 5 minutes and passed out. When she woke up, we went to Target where she passed out again, only to wake up 15 minutes later in hysterics. I took her to the Starbucks and she devoured the pouch, a full bottle and both teething wafers. She wouldn't let anyone give her a bottle until right before bed when she let my husband give her a bottle.

I have a thread titled leaps that has all this info.

I saw the thread and read about leap 6. I just wondered if leap 7 could be the cause. S is 34 weeks, so right in the middle. The thread said that the crankiness happens before the leap. Then I read everything they can do after, and she seems to do those things already. So I don't know. Also, she was barely eating 20 oz of bm, and now she's shot up to between 25oz and 30oz the last few days along with her crankiness/crying.
Re: Weekly randoms June 19th
@kristah2 I hope it's an uneventful visit!
