August FET

Re: August FET

  • Make sure they are in the right spot. I (my husband) did a few in the wrong spots and I would just sit and cry after. I also have one side that is worse with the shots overall.  It is horrible in the wrong spot. I hope they get better.
  • @Dragonfly6191 yay!!! Thinking of you and your second beta. :)
@prudence9-2 sorry your bum hurts. Maybe they can change to a different method?
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.

  • @prudence9-2 that sounds horrible! Maybe get in touch with the dr and see if there is anything else you can do though you must be close to the 2 week mark???

@Dragonfly6191 that's a good start but I get your concern! I hope Tuesday brings good news!

@rshoshana congrats that's great! I hope this all goes smoothly for you

AFM I'm just at the beginning of my TWW. I go for my first blood test this coming Friday. Not sure if I'll do a pregnancy test before hand. I don't feel an urge yet.

Abyways, does anyone else feel exhausted from the progesterone?! I'm doing PIO every third day and vaginal insterts twice a day (and I'm still on estrogen pills and patch too). Just tired all the time. Yuck!
  • @Dragonfly6191 yay!! Good luck on the next beta!!!

@rshoshana congrats! That's great!! And I do it at the right spots. I have circles on my butt and I do it inside :)

@Holls214  I don't have a rush. It's more like a huge mosquito bite with swollen bruises. I think the ice helped. So I will try it tonite  I don't want to inject 3 days in a row on the same side!

@jfeeney06 my beta is on Monday... it will be 14dp5dt! Super late! And if you can keep up without testing, I think that's the best. My last test was on Thursday (the super faint one). And I will wait now for Monday.

  • @Dragonfly6191 don't let the cramps worry you too much unless you start bleeding. I have had bad cramps the last few nights which brings me to my own news...

"Yesterday" (it's after midnight but I can't sleep) i was 9dp5dt and i had my first beta. My clinic normally does 10d but i am so glad they didn't make me wait till Monday! My hcg came back 537!!!!!!! This was our third transfer so i guess third time's the charm! Crossing our fingers that things keep going well and now my rants at my shots have become less angry lol

Speaking of which, those of you who are having issues with the PIO, my doc said that the best thing to help with lumps and such is walking. Which sucks cause I'm nauseous but i do it anyway and have been doing really well with them for the most part.

Good luck and fx for all of you!

  • Congratulations ! Wonderful news
  • Does anyone do the progesterone suppositories? I may be triggering tomorrow then ER Tuesday. My doctor said I can do the vaginal suppositories. Why one over the other ? I know my progesterone has always been great ..does that matter?
  • @Malibu45 I've done all 3 types of progesterone- the suppositories, the vaginal cream, and I just started the PIO last night. The suppositiories were definitely my favorite, but the cream isn't bad either. Unfortunately for me I seem to have a hard time keeping a high progesterone level, so they've switched me to PIO. I would fine anything to go back to the suppositories or cream!!

AFM- Lines still aren't darkening and I almost think today's is a little lighter ( but I was up half the night so my urine wasn't as concentrated). My gut feeling is this is a Chemical, but I won't find out for sure until Tuesday. I know HPTs aren't meant to be quantitative, but..... :(

  • @Dragonfly6191 sorry to hear that! That's exactly what happened to me. Had a line on day 8, it got stronger on day 9. And then on day 10 it was lighter than day 8. So I stopped testing. I'm hoping it's because I drink a lot of water.

Im on day 13 now, and my beta is finally tomorrow!

  • @jfeeney06 I have another beta on Friday to make sure things are progressing properly but since they're waiting a whole week instead of just a couple days i think that's a good sign. Assuming it's good they'll schedule me cor an ultrasound next.

@Malibu45 I've done suppositories, PIO, and crinone. Suppositories are definitely the least miserable in my opinion, but really just go with whatever your doc says. Mine had me do suppositories with the fresh transfer but PIO for frozen. Noy sure why but they've done tons of research and that's how they've had the most success. Food luck!

@prudence9-2 good luck tomorrow! And @Dragonfly6191 good luck Tuesday!

AFM...omg i am so exhausted...i have had some pretty swrious nausea over the past year of treatments, so now that i actually got a BFP i decided to go ahead and try diclegis and see if it helps, so i took some last night but then today i have just been sleeping ALL day...I'm not sure how much causation there is here but I'm definitely not as naussous as i frequently am. But if it just makes me sleep through it I still can't do much of anything...are any of you on diclegis? Any tricks like take it a few hours before bed so you can actually wake up the next morning, or is my exhaustion just a general side effect I'm gonna have to deal with?
  • @Dragonfly6191 and @prudence9-2 good luck on both of your betas! I hope they bring some good news!!

@nmtay I'm currently doing a vaginal insert twice daily. It looks like a pill and then must melt. I'm also doing PIO every third day. The vaginal insert isn't horrible just kind of messy. Easier and less painful than the injection at least.
  • blood test done! It was funny because the girl that took my papers remembered the mess with my progesterone blood test 2 weeks ago! She promised me this time I will get the results on the same day!!

my guess is that in the next 6 hours I will get the call. And if I'm lucky they will put it on the patient portal in 4-5 hours!!!

    sooooo scared!!!!!

  • @prudence9-2 FX for you! I know we all want high betas to start with but just remember it isn't necessarily your starting number that matters, just that it continues to double. Hoping for the best for you

AFM, I've gone from tests starting to lighten to testing almost completely negative today. I'm sure it's a chemical. The few days of lighter tests have allowed me to start making my peace with it, so hopefully my test tomorrow won't be quite so painful to hear.

  • @prudence9-2 do you think it's atall posible that it took this egg longer to implant and that's why your beta is lower than expected?

@Dragonfly6191 I'm so so sorry to hear this! I was rooting for you and this embie. Still interested in what your bloodwork reveals tomorrow. Hugs and good luck!
  • @Dragonfly6191 I'm sorry to hear that... hoping for good results tomorrow. Thinking about you. This process is so rough.

  • Update- just got off the phone with the doctor and we're starting our natural FET. Going to start OPK testing on cycle day 12, but probably 10. I don't want to risk ever missing it even though I ovulate late. Then go in for an ultrasound after a positive OPK and make sure we have a follicle. If we do then do a trigger shot and transfer 1 week later. So possibly doing a FET the week of September 9th. Hoping my body cooperates!
  • @Holls214 that sounds great! So much easier than the medicated FET. I hope it works out!!!

  • @holls214 that does sound great! We are going to have to transfer clinics if this cycle doesn't in fact work out, and I definitely want to ask them about a natural cycle FET- my current clinic won't do them. Looking forward to hearing how it goes for you!

    1st cycle of IVF started April 9, 2017. ER- 15R, 7M, 5F, 4 frozen, 1 transferred. BFN

    May 2017- Hysteroscopy

June-August 2017- 2nd attempt via FET. 2 Embryos transferred on 08/10/17. BFP, but ended in a chemical.

    November 2017- Hysteroscopy

    January 2018- 3rd attempt via FET. 2 Embryos transferred on 01/25/18. BOLD BFP on a HPT on 1/31, Beta # 1 on 2/5= 721. Beta # 2 on 2/7- 1903. 6wk+3 day scan revealed twins!

  • @Holls214 this is all so interesting to me. I hope you feel much better with the natural cycle and it works!
  • Thanks ladies! Fingers crossed!! Just need my body to ovulate and create a larger follicle with the trigger. I'll keep you all posted. Hoping to hear some good news this week from you all. :)

  • Sigh. 2nd beta dropped to 3. Chemical for me this time :(. It's hard but honestly this cycle taught me that I CAN get pregnant which is the motivation I needed to take on another cycle. Silver linings :)

  • Hey @Holls214 , I think we are going to be fairly close in timing!

I'm back after a cycle off. During retrieval, the Dr had to go through my uterus to get to the left ovary so we decided to switch from fresh transfer to frozen. I have two high quality embryos on ice. No PGS testing. I am doing natural FET. Today is CD 12. My lining was 8mm. We could only see the left ovary which had a 7mm follie. My right ovary hides until it has a large follie or drops right around ovulation. I'm a late ovulator, so I will go back for an US on CD 17 unless I get a peak OPK. Then I will do an ovadril trigger, progesterone suppositories and transfer a week after trigger. Looking like Sept 4-8 for transfer.

Does that timeline look similar to others' timelines? Do you usually transfer one week from trigger? How soon after is the beta?

@JaeJayStark I'm on cycle day 2. That's the exact plan for my natural one too. I am usually a late ovulator too. I just learned about the natural cycle this morning and it sounds like you do transfer 1 week after trigger. Yay! Fingers crossed for you.
