You guys are so much better than me. I just sent the kids in to clean the playroom since it's been messy and I have to really clean it out before we move it So we can do the nursery. We are doing white this time around mostly because ds1 will move into that room as soon as the new baby is ready for a bed. I think he deserves his own room!
@NYTino24 Oh that is so cute and great for a nursery! I had ordered another world map (scratch off where we have gone), but I ordered it 8 weeks ago and it hasn't arrived. Super annoyed and will probably have to file a claim on my card, but hopefully can have better luck with this map.
Haven't started working on it yet but ours will be Harry Potter themed as previously mentioned before. DH and I both love it and it is by no means gender specific. I will share pics once we start working on it.
@klink15 I have a couple prints that I ordered from Etsy that are HP. DH would never let me theme the whole nursery Harry Potter though, unfortunately!
My nursery room is FINALLY cleared out properly and my crib arrives tomorrow! I am so so excited to start doing stuff and I'm sure I'll be posting photos along the way. Right now my plan is to put the crib and change table on the striped wall and put my glider and spice rack bookshelves on beside the window on the plain wall and cube storage also on that wall. My closet is small but I will be utilizing it as much as possible ( right now it has boxes of clothes) I registered for a change table that has drawers and the table part is removable. So so excited!
We pick up our nursery furniture tomorrow! Eeee! It'll live in the garage for another week or so while I finish painting, but things are getting real! Excited to share photos when it starts to look more complete.
Ah @DuchessOfCambridge you're totally right it does. I didn't even think of that. I'm going for woodland creatures because I know that a few people have already bought me owl things and for some unexplainable reason I've been obsessed with moose since I got pregnant.
Ours isn't even started, crib and dresser have arrived and we need to go pick them up. We're still in a rental so painting that I wanted isn't gonna happen...but we're going with beach theme whether boy or girl..I have a few photos for inspiration but until I start getting decor or anything thats all I got.
I'm about to go in with about 10 black contractor trash bags and throw all my kids toys away. ALL OF THEM. Then I will at least have a blank space to start. This room is just overwhelming the hell out of me right now.
To be totally honest, every time I read this thread title I say it to the Pokemon theme of "Got to catch 'em all!" I know...nerd.
Anyway, DH's determined attitude and nesting mode had him clearing out our former guest room to convert to the nursery. So it's pretty bare, but a start. The Tv will not stay lol.
The glider I got today at a yard sale! (Currently relaxing in it and love it)
This is the dresser I sanded down (was an old brown dingy color) and refinished with new paint and hardware. I plan to put a changing pad on top, but put books there until we got shelves.
And the closet is semi organized...
Now we just have to get a crib, rug and paint once we choose a theme and know the sex.
@duchessofcambridge@bcashaw I totally did it. And I told them that all these toys are broken and getting thrown away because they don't clean up and take care of their things. I'm so glad. It really was just not manageable anymore. I kept only the things they actually play with and now it's all getting moved to the downstairs playroom. And now it will all be downstairs where I can't see it so they mess it, not my problem
My PGAL brain won't let me decorate LO's nursery just yet even though my OCD wants the guest room cleaned out and baby items bought and moved in. I've found the nursery set I'm getting and how I'm going to decorate. I just need to bite the bullet and buy it, paint and decorate. I'll probably wait until after my A/S in 3 weeks just to make certain everything is okay.
Don't have anything bought yet, it's still a guest room right now. The shelves need cleared out and taken out, and the bed is totally wrecked so it's gonna go bye bye. So far this is all we've bought for him. When we go stateside this upcoming weekend we'll have lots to show off! (Sorry if the picture is ginormous!)

This is what DS room looks like now. They will be sharing this room for a year or two until we move or we may never. I had a safari theme for my son as I used to be a wildlife photography enthusiast. But now can I leave the room this color? Do I have to give a girl a pink room?? Or find a neutral color? I was thinking maybe keep the room blue but get baby pink curtains and decor so it's a mix of pink and blue. Also those toys- all boy toys and you can see the constant mess. I seriously need to get some major space saving design ideas floating.
Right now I just have the beginnings of a nursery. We have the crib and recliner and I've picked up all the decorations. I still nees the dresser and curtains. I am waiting until I have it put together to post. The room is grey, the furniture is white, and the accents are pale pink.
ShePersisted From the photo, it looks like it is purple. Is it actually blue? I vote leave the room the current color, I really like it. A little baby has no idea what colors are and we have created gendered norms of pink and blue. Personally, our nursery will have lots of teal/jade (like the dresser I above) regardless of gender. The baby won't care and I like it, lol.
@ShePersisted if you feel like you're bored and want a change I'd paint it neutral, but if you're happy with it I think the color is great regardless of if a boy or girl is in there. Also, painting is a lot of work and I wouldn't want to do it.
My crib came without any hardware yesterday so I can't set it up until I go buy the pieces I need
Stuck in the box but did you try contacting the company who made the crib? We had a few pieces if hardware that were damaged with ours. I contacted the company and they sent new hardware in less than a week.
@ShePersisted There is no pink in my daughter's room. We went with mint because we were Team Green. I think that color and the wildlife prints could easily be transformed into a girl room, with or without the pink.
We found the chair we want for LO's nursery. It's a glider rocker and oh so comfy and best of all, it's 20% off. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy it. It actually looks like a recliner
this was DDs room. I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out a theme for this baby which is a boy and I'm lost. We got furniture like DDs but I'm really not sure if I like it anymore for a boy or the space it's in.
@ShePersisted I love the wall color and would totally keep it. I also love the zebra prints! We have a similar one in our bathroom that I purchased from a photographer on Etsy!
We haven't started on the room yet because I have to do some rearranging and get my daughter her big girl bed first. I am going to try to keep everything very neutral since DD and baby will be sharing a room. This is my inspiration-
I haven't started on the nursery yet, but I will start setting more up once the crib arrives at the end of July. It won't have a specific theme, just pretty pastels. I did find some pictures that I loved, and just couldn't say no to! Edit: The first one is kind of hard to read. It says 'Let her sleep, for when she wakes, she will move mountains.'
Everyone with their nurseries being put together make me feel like a slacker lol! But we do have the crib and dresser (in their boxes) and the glider in the nursery. I'm holding off buying stuff til our shower next month.
I'm going to do suns, moons, stars. Not going to do anything until V's bunk bed arrives for his room and then most of his furniture goes to the baby's room. I'm not in a rush. I do want to get some kind of cube unit though to organize things in the closet. That's a great idea.
